Selling your house this way is a big gamble, it has a good chance of paying off but it's so risky especially when btc rises so fast.

It's because bitcoin pump and pump. And then, etherum network is very full transaction now. Etherdelta and erc-20 going down, because cryptokitties games.

When bitcoin pumps people sell alts for bitcoin and most alts are tokens based on ethereum so they suffer when there are problems with its network. Overall though the falls are just temporary.

Everyone has a different opinion on which alts are best but ultimately you will have to decide yourself. A good strategy is to start with the main alts which are more stable before looking into the smaller and newer ones which bear a lot more risk.

Re: Aventus coin on etherdelta!

You can buy it from Etherdelta if you can find a seller. Wink
This project is very interesting, offering a solution to real life problem. I don't think any investor would like to sell at this stage.

Loads of sellers there and its already number 2 in volume. Of course it might never fall back to ICO price ever again, but at the moment it is still only a little bit above. In my book that suggests its still a good time to buy. I just regret having been on holiday and missing out on this  Grin

Re: Regulations for ICOs/ crowdsales
by
coolsai
on 04/08/2017, 02:34:32 UTC
Hi,

Does anybody have a good source on the regulations regarding starting/ being part of a team indulging in a crowdsale. How is the jurisdiction chosen? Is it the location of the investors or the location of the team? Given it's all decentralized, and no way to track locations of investors how do these even get enacted? In US, is cryptocurrencies covered by SEC Act of 1934? Is there precedent for any ICO's getting in trouble for not filing with SEC? And if American investors are not allowed in ICO/ crowdsale, which jurisdiction will it be regulated in? Is passive investing in ICOs/ crowdsales legal while residing in US?

I realize I am asking too many questions, but there seems to be no comprehensive online help on this topic. I was considering developing for some of these gigs which seemed exciting but wanted to ensure I would be on the right side of the law if I did so.

Thanks

There isn't any precedent yet for ICO's getting into trouble but most also avoid the potential problems by blocking US citizens though there is no way to verify it without KYC.

It is basically all a grey area and no one wants to risk getting in trouble nor does the SEC have too much power to do anything about it since a lot of ICOs don't even have a physical location, the best they could do it go after the individual members of their team.

I don't see it pulling back, at least not in the short term. I think it's more likely it will rise steadily.

A correction will probably happen once it's well into the 3000's.

Re: You lose only if you sell
by

on 04/08/2017, 02:29:43 UTC
For me it's not a lose. The best strategy is sell at the peak and buy at the dip. You never know what's coming so better to take advantage of the ups and downs. But this is only for people who has all day to monitor the price of bitcoin but if you are a long term holder then there's nothing wrong.

The thing is long term holder is more or less sure to make a profit but short term traders can lose just as quickly as they earn. Personally I don't believe there are many traders that consistently make a profit so I would always advise people to just hold on to their coins.

Re: Poloniex to credit BCH = BTC (Based on fork time)
by
coolsai
on 04/08/2017, 02:28:25 UTC
It doesn't really make sense:

1. We will be crediting users who had BTC in their account balance at the time of the fork with matching BCH.
2. We have not yet determined if we will be listing BCH as a market on Poloniex nor can we commit to supporting BCH withdrawals right away.

If I get BCH but can't trade it (on a trading platform..) and can't withdraw it (on a trading platform..) then what can I do with my BCH?

I assume it means they will EVENTUALLY decide to either allow both trade and withdrawals or they will allow only withdrawals. How long it will be before they decide is unknown but the point to make is they aren't just keeping peoples coins for themselves.

Re: Would Bitcoin ending up like Yahoo in the future?
by
coolsai
on 04/08/2017, 02:26:27 UTC
Yahoo was the first (?) search engine at the time when Internet started.  It was the pioneer in its field.  In the late 90's its market cap reached to a high closed to $120B.   Three and a half years after Yahoo started, Google came out and gradually took away market share from Yahoo.

After 22 years, Verizon bought it for $4.8B.  Would Bitcoin ending up like Yahoo in the future and got beat up by new competitions?

What do you think?  Please provide your reason(s) to support your view.
I think it is possible, nothing is impossible. It will have a strong development process and then end. But we do not know what day it is. I do not hope that it will end soon.

Well the altcoin market has blown up and many altcoins offer more to users than bitcoin does from smart contracts to real anonymity to real world apps. The question is whether or not bitcoin will always retain its market share as the first coin without innovating further on the protocol.

Re: Loss almost 40%, should stop trading or not ?
by
coolsai
on 04/08/2017, 02:24:43 UTC
Trading with btc - eth, I buy too high ( 0,082 ) and today I sell all on 0,077. Before that trade btc - ripple ( xrp ), make mistake buy 0,0002150 so today I sell with price 0,0001200. I decide to sell all because my patience is finish. I have loss almost 40% from my money, my question is simple ................. stop or continue?

You should still continue if you have the capital because losing is part of trading and through losses you will learn your strengths and weaknesses so that next time when you trade, you will know what mistakes you made that made you loss. Of course there would be times when you still loss because market is unpredictable but you can at least minimize it by having a plan of what to do if something happen. I myself loss higher than 40% but I accepted it and then trade again.

That's terrible advice, if he has lost 40% he could well lose 40% again. The better bet is to buy and hold a coin you believe in for the long term, trading is more or less the same as gambling and will just as easily give you losses as it will gains.

Re: What are you doing with BCC
by
coolsai
on 04/08/2017, 02:21:59 UTC
I think BCH is good crypto for day trading at the moment. Easy 50-100 $ per BCH within 30 mins. If its priced less we can still earn healthy profits by trading. We dont care about what it has to offer, so long it helps to stuff your wallet with profits is a good deal to me Smiley

It's also an easy way to lose 50-100$ within 30 minutes.

For me I just sold what little BCH I had when the hardfork happened. I was very shocked that it pumped to almost 3x what I sold for but now it's back below that price so I'm not too unhappy with my decision.

Re: Dumping Bitcoin Cash after it hits exchanges?

It's a shitty altcoin. Nothing Else.

That is why 90% more are going to dump and who is going to buy all these coins? Maybe at a price for $10 or something but for sure it won't ever be something to rival BTC.

Re: BTC/BCC
by

Hi,

I have question, if I will have on Bittrex BTC, Bittrex change BTC automatically for BCC? Or my BTC stay here and I obtain else + BCC for free?

Bittrex have promised to give you your BCC in addition to your BTC but they didn't say yet if they will let you buy and sell BCC so if they aren't going to open up a trade pair they will let you withdraw it to your own wallet.

Bittrex is a very good exchange as anything else would be outright theft.

Re: is it possible to have fulltime income with altcoins trading ??
by
coolsai
on 29/07/2017, 20:17:57 UTC
Its possible to make millions but even the best traders don't consistently earn a stable income so I don't recommend it as a fulltime thing.

Anyway if you have to ask this question you probably don't know enough about trading in the first place and likely won't succeed.

Re: Why do you invest in ICOs?
by

on 28/07/2017, 23:10:21 UTC
The reason anyone invests in ICO is in hopes of getting in early on the next big coin. You are right though that there is currently a massive amount of shit projects that get funded way more than they should realistically need or than they could ever be worth in the real world.

Re: Does the split depend on Exchange? 1 BTC now equals 1 BTC + 1 BCC
by
coolsai
on 28/07/2017, 23:01:28 UTC
I am on multiple exchanges and some have come outright and said after the split, 1 BTC holder will have 1 BTC + 1 BCC after split...some havent addressed this question other than saying they wont support BCC...

What about online vs offline vs exchange wallet...will all BTC holders regardless of location now be credited with 1 BCC in this scenario? or just those who hold BTC on the exchanges mentioned above?

All BTC holders will get 1 BCC but not all exchanges will credit it to your wallet if they do not wish to support or trade in it.

The exchanges that haven't addressed the issue of BCC are the ones you should probably remove your BTC from if you want to avoid losing them. Any personal bitcoin wallet where you have the private key will enable you to access your BCC after the fork, or if that is too much effort just put them all on an exchange which has said they will credit them to your acccount.
