I remember when i was selling a Mycelium entropy usb devise and a lot of people commenting were put off buying it because they thought it may have been tampered with in a way, that was even after i pointed out that you could update the device and add your own entropy by changing the "salt"

You will probably get similar questions i thought.
I have not used a trezor yet so not familiar with them, can the Treazor be "cleaned" completely so it is just as safe if straight from the factory and this checked?

Hmm well its in a sealed box if that answers that Smiley
So was 1 of the entropy devises i had with receipt but that didn't help.
The trezor is a much more advanced device i believe so it should not be a big problem for someone who knows what they are doing with this stuff and anyone buying this beauty should know what to do.
Good luck with your sale  Smiley

Maybe this will be helpful to communicate alongside with the sealed box: http://doc.satoshilabs.com/trezor-faq/threats.html#reflashing-the-trezor-with-evil-firmware

Re: Storing coins
by

Which one is the safest way to store bitcoins? I often hear that becomes thefts. I guess some of them are not heard even.
I think online wallet is still safe to use if you are using a special computer just to open an online wallet and is certainly to be equipped with other added security.

Online wallet is never safe as you are relying on third party to make your bitcoin transactions and to hold your bitcoins for you. They can be hacked any day, their database and your private keys gone even if you have your computer with top security. Second best are desktop wallets like Electrum in which private keys are stored on your PC and you are in charge. Ultimate security is a hardware wallet like Trezor or Ledger.
Stay clear of online wallets.

I can only agree, I see online wallets as a good thing only providing they support Trezor - so I can keep the private keys in my hands and use the web wallet as an interface to the blockchain.  An example of a good web wallet is myTrezor.com or Copay.

Hello everyone!

Our team has just released TREZOR Password Manager, a new lightweight application designed to store and manage passwords with ultimate TREZOR security.

We'll be happy to receive feedback from you to our support@satoshilabs.com as this is a beta and needs a thorough testing, before we head to adding more functionalities.

Here's the news in full: https://medium.com/@satoshilabs/1b260e5fbe6b
and a page with further links to download of the Chrome Extension: http://passwords.mytrezor.com/

repost from slush

Hi all,
we just released minor update to https://beta.mytrezor.com. If no bugs will be reported in following week or two, we'll most likely release this as stable directly to mytrezor.com domain.
This release included some stability fixes and memory optimizations for very large accounts (10000+ addresses and transactions). It's not blazingly fast, but it is stable.

There're also some new features added:
  • Send dialog uses dynamic fee calculations using https://bitcoinfees.21.co API.
  • Fees are calculated per bytes, not kilobytes, so transactions should be a bit cheaper than before, for the same tx size.
  • CSV import in Send dialog now accepts also amounts in fiat currencies (and convert them into BTC using Bitpay API to BTC value).

Please let us know on support@bitcointrezor.com if you find any problem in current beta! Thank you :-)

Is it possible to integrate an altcoin (VeriCoin) to trezor?

Trezor itself (the firmware) already supports several altcoins and adding another is one line of code, providing that altcoin is derived from bitcoin.
I must stress though, that our dev team is reluctant to add just about any coin unless that coin is really supported / used by the community.

myTrezor.com is designed as a lightweight web interface to Trezor only supporting Bitcoin. To use Trezor with an altcoin - the altcoin wallet has to implement Trezor support + have a functional blockchain explorer.

Implementing Trezor into web/mobile wallets and bitcoin services is fairly easy with the TREZOR Connect API

For those who didn't participate in the crowdfunding, you can get a Cryptosteel for Trezor (or any BIP39 wallets) at buytrezor.com now for $49.

I'm getting Server Error (500) when I'm clicking on add to cart.
Kindly fix that.

dude, just read thé last post before yours...

I know but I can't buy due to their server error.

Also I'm skeptical whether they will arrange for a manual shipment with full tracking as per my last reply.

With Free DHL shipping I will never receive the product! Huh

They were sold out very fast. The server error was there because nothing was available on stock anymore and the eshop did not handle it perfectly.

All Metallics & Cryptosteels have been shipped today with full DHL tracking.

Smart move.

How so?

Looking at the interest, pretty sure they would have got a lot more with an auction ... unless giving up profits for the taking is a "smart move" for some reason I'm not getting.

Maybe, maybe not. You would have to ask Ms. Vranova. Auctions are more complicated, take time and there is a time value to money. There is no auction site that takes payment by bitcoin so Trezor would have to hold an in house auction. They did not choose to do so.
I'll ask directly.

You said it was a "smart move" not to hold an auction ... why do YOU say that?

I say they lost money by not doing so.

You're right, we could probably have squeezed more profit out of this but I consider this a fair deal for everyone + our resources (time, effort) are valuable too.
At this moment, there is only one Metallic left.

I wished I had purchased the First Edition Trezor, in 2013 - the ones with the metal enclosure...   Cool

Are you sure? They cost 3 times as much as the plastic ones (3 BTC, I think). It was more of a donation to the project.

OK, dug it up in this video on Feb 20 at 23 minutes in Alena Vranova clearly states that Trezor will be selling last 20 metal cased Trezors next week, says if you are interested subscribe to buytrezor.com/newsletter. That was a month ago still have not heard any more news. I would certainly buy one as a collectible, there will not be any more. Guess they changed their minds.

I confirm, we've been waiting for some deliveries and setting up the bundle now in the eshop, it will go live within these days.

The Bitcoin Report interviewed me about TREZOR, it may be interesting for people new to bitcoin or not familiar much with Trezor or the concept of a hardware wallet.

I'm explaining the basics of Trezor security and mentioning new developments & plans for the future, e.g. TREZOR Password Manager.

https://youtu.be/YbrBJbBQR0k

Does your recovery seed still work if you generate new addresses/ accounts all the time?

Of course. The recovery seed is a representation of the master private key from which all subsequent new addresses /keys are generated. This is the main advantage of a hierarchical deterministic wallet - whenever you reconstruct the wallet from a backup, you get the same tree structure of private keys..

Also what happens if Satoshi labs goes out of business and the web page goes down?
