Re: DNotes 2.0 - Bridging the Gap Between the Centralized and Decentralized World

Found the issue -- it's a floating point bug in GetBlockValue()

Thanks flound1129! That is correct, some blocks like 2103797 reward 20.36265624 rather than (25*math.pow(0.95,4)) 20.36265625. The mystery remains, why your node rejects it and all the others seem fine with it.

Hey, Dnote folks, I was mining at multipool.us when Dnote 'had problems'.   I'm currently out over 250 Dnote, but some are out THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS.
flound1129 found the problem (PAY THIS GUY!), so why can't Dnote reimburse us by making our Dnotes valid -- instead of us miners losing, what?  70,000 Dnotes or more?

Come on, make this right.  If a bug caused all of us to lose 70K coins, why should we ever mine Dnote again -- knowing that a bug could pop up and screw us out of days and weeks of mining?    There are ALOT of pissed-off miners right now -- because of a developer software bug. I know, bugs happen. But please, own up to it and do the right thing for the miners who make the coins.

Just sayin ...

Not to worry cornercafe, we are working on figuring that out right now, so the miners can get the DNotes they thought they were mining. We don't want the miners to suffer as a result.

Hey, now THAT'S what I'm talking about! Thank you, thank you, and I thank you for the several hundred miners who would have been SOL, had you not decided to do what's right. God bless you and Dnotes.

I guess i just been lucky.  but then again, i havent been using it recently.  Weather turning warm, means i had to shut down my miners a bit.
Walked in office a few days ago, and it was baking... lol

happened a few times, then the next day, its snowing.  go figure.

but not this week.

anyhow, i'll have to try to dbl check that myself.

@giantkin, hey, are you the pool admin for H2C?  I've been mining Dnote there for the last hour, and I can say that the coin rate there (now, anyway) is pretty close to what WTM shows I should be getting per-hour. That's cool. If it stays like this, I'll keep mining here.

I was just at multipool.us mining Dnote for the last day and a half. At some point, around block 2103809, supposedly, Dnotes forked. I had been watching it off and on during the day, and I noticed that some coins hadn't confirmed for about 9 hours, and the blocks in multipool didn't show orphaned or anything to give me a clue that something was wrong.  I wrote to the admin, and maybe 8 hrs later (after I blew up his mailbox) he got back and told me Dnote had forked, and ALL blocks after 2103809 are now orphaned -- ' ... are now ...' orphaned.  It DIDN'T show that for the last 16 hours! After that, it showed orphaned.

What pisses me TOTALLY off? I had 200+ coins waiting to be confirmed for over 9 hours, and NOTHING in the pool stats gave ANY clue Dnote had forked, so I could mine something else!  That admin told me, 'welcome to shicoin mining'.   Well, that's nice.

Do you or anyone else know if Dnote really forked and when? I've googled it 40 different ways and come up blank. Nothing shows in the blockchain explorer either.  My last paid block was 2105667 -- with more than 200 pending for hours -- the admin tells me everything after 2103809 is RETRO-ACTIVELY orphaned.  Is this BS or what?

If you did read the main page you’d have seen the Twitter feed and this post:

https://twitter.com/_zpool_/status/960585419334316032

The exchange that has XSH is disabled cause their not paying the pool back the BTC. Mine something else. BTC is the only guaranteed payout currency for this exact reason.

you still doing litecoin payouts at your pool?... I'm building a bat file for litecoin users

yup still doing LTC. just found a block too

crackfoo,
Jan 24th I was mining LINX at zpool and there was a problem with LINX. You replied and said something about the dev updating the wallet, or something like that. Ok. That's cool. So why is it I've never received my coins? Do I have to contact the 'dev' of the wallet or what?  The txid's don't appear on the linx blockchain ( https://chainz.cryptoid.info/linx/). The txid's are:

I'd appreciate it if you'd please tell me who I can contact to get the coins that weren't' sent. Thank you.

Anybody has leveraged the API to get data from ZPOOL in a Google Sheet?

I tried but got lost in the proceed.   Huh I believe though that should I have something to start with I could achieve what I want.

Thanks for your support...

I was able to get LibreOffice Calc to make an external data link to the WhatToMine.com website. It gives me real-time info without all the stupid flashing pop-ups and extra crap no one wants to see. It's rough going, since I'm not a VB programmer. I had to write some macros to fire when the sheet opens, closes, and updates the highest-paying coin.

So this is working in Excel then?  Can I have a look at it?  Maybe I can leverage this for me and the community.

Not excel, LibreOffice Calc. I can send you a copy of the sheet if you tell me where to send it. It's pretty simple. It should work OK in excel, though. I opened Calc, added a sheet or two, and went to the last sheet, top menu  sheet > link to external data, and give it Whattomine's ASIC url:
(https://whattomine.com/asic?utf8=%E2%9C%93&factor%5Bsha256_hr%5D=14000.0&factor%5Bsha256_p%5D=1370.0&scryptf=true&factor%5Bscrypt_hash_rate%5D=500.0&factor%5Bscrypt_power%5D=800.0&factor%5Bx11_hr%5D=15000.0&factor%5Bx11_p%5D=1200.0&factor%5Bqk_hr%5D=450.0&factor%5Bqk_p%5D=75.0&factor%5Bqb_hr%5D=450.0&factor%5Bqb_p%5D=84.0&factor%5Bcost%5D=0.1&sort=Profitability24&volume=0&revenue=24h&factor%5Bexchanges%5D%5B%5D=&factor%5Bexchanges%5D%5B%5D=abucoins&factor%5Bexchanges%5D%5B%5D=bitfinex&factor%5Bexchanges%5D%5B%5D=bittrex&factor%5Bexchanges%5D%5B%5D=bleutrade&factor%5Bexchanges%5D%5B%5D=cryptopia&factor%5Bexchanges%5D%5B%5D=hitbtc&factor%5Bexchanges%5D%5B%5D=poloniex&factor%5Bexchanges%5D%5B%5D=yobit&dataset=&commit=Calculate)

then select html_1 for the ASIC table. If you're interested in SHA, or other algorithm, you can go to that page, and use that url instead. There are 3 different types of tables. if you select 'all', it'll bog-down your app when it refreshes from updating so many fields. It works pretty well so far. I've checked it against WhatToMine for several days and it works. It's easy to get the sheet corrupted though, and not update the fields. I use LO Calc to keep track of the pools, addresses, and coins, receive addresses, the profits, etc.  It's pretty handy if you don't have Awesome Miner. I'd like to use it to profit-switch. You can capture the current top coin name, pull the url from a table and pass it all to SSH I guess -- I'm giving it a try anyway. It'd have to be easier than doing all that coding, plus, you have the added functionality of tracking the pools, etc.

So, I guess I'm screwed on those Linx Coins from zpool? The txid's

don't show up in https://chainz.cryptoid.info/linx/.  So, is this a common occurrence in mining pools? Can I get those coins back somehow?

I apologize for not posing in the right place (I couldn't find it). I'm total newbie. Where do I report zpool coins not making it to my wallet?  For the last 2 days no coins have been arriving. On the wallet  page, it shows the txid's, and none appear in https://chainz.cryptoid.info/linx/ (that's what Coinomi Support says).  Below are the txid's. I can send screen shots if needed. I'd really appreciate knowing what's wrong with zpool and where all my coins went. They had to go somewhere. Please let me know how to proceed. Thanks.

sounds like LINX probably forked. I'll check into it later, but I'd stop mining using LINX address for now.

yup, looks like the dev updated the wallet. It's updated now. payouts should resume when it's synced.

I checked again today and those 28+ coins have never reached my Coinomi wallet.
