Re: Betting on the war

When the Pope was being decided in the conclave, people were betting on it. When there was hurricane or typhoons, people would also bet on the casualties. Have you seen people bet on about the war between Iran and Israel and now USA too?

If yes, do you think it is morally or ethically correct? For me, no. There are real people's lives at stake here. I think it is so tone deaf for people to bet on their lives. What do you think?

When it comes to money, most people are completely irrational and only think about themselves and how to make more profit. So I wouldn’t be surprised by any bets related to wars, atomic bombs, or missiles, there are probably bets happening right now, in fact. Human beings are truly insensitive, especially when money is involved. There’s nothing that can be done.

Now the conversation has changed a bit, it seems that the negotiations to renew his contract with Santos have cooled down
Santos is in financial trouble, in a terrible position in the Brazilian championship and with no prospects of change
It can't be easy to put up with Neymar there, not playing much, partying, earning millions while the whole club is doing badly

Whoever signs Neymar for performance will be doing good business, after all they'll be paying him very little  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
I feel sorry for Santos, he no longer seems like the genius who enchanted the fields with his dribbling and sprints. Now that he is old enough, it will be harder to keep up the pace, especially playing once every 1 or 2 months. If we count the time since the 2022 World Cup until now, Neymar has not played 30 matches and scored 10 goals.

Not to mention that Neymar is still immature, getting red cards for nothing... even though he is the main hope of the Santos club.

Neymar is done, that’s the reality. He’s already 33 years old, and I think the only thing he could do to play well again is to change his position on the field and play more as a center forward, just like Ronaldo Nazário did after his knee injuries. But I also believe Neymar himself is probably tired of the athlete lifestyle and is just trying to secure the last big paycheck from a professional football contract. It’s a shame… he was the last great Brazilian player, but he got lost in himself.

Real Madrid 3 Vs Pachuca 1 FT
The Spanish giants started off shaky and were almost overrun by the opponent with shots but not in ball possession. Raul Asencio was sent off early in the game, around the 7th minutes after kickoff. Pachacu looked like the team that would win because of their numerous dangerous attacks but Real Madrid opened the scoring through Jude Bellingham in the 34th minute and it wasn't long before Guler made it 2 - 0 before half time. Second half was another series of shotz that Real Madrid goalkeeper had to repeal but still conceded a goal.

Real Madrid seems to have been struggling ever since Cristiano Ronaldo left. After he left, I haven't seen the team play brilliant or captivating football again. Vinícius Júnior's performance has dropped a lot, and it seems like the Ballon d'Or went to his head. Anyway, with a new coach, I'm curious to see where they'll end up.

I cant keep up with the news the last bomb shell was trumps terrifs and btc went to 75k, . Are US investors saying this could be bad for the american stock market so last buy crypto: so it will be good? Or will the traders say btc and when I say btc I mean all coins, that when the nyse is too linked to bitcoin and even though bitcoin is country less but seems US drives the price. You can see when this administration is insider trading. Always a day late so we pick up the tab when they pump and dump.
World power is known to be the US. Hence why it seems their government drives the price.
The change in price is psychological and usually has a short time effect while mostly affecting weak hands.

Again Bitcoin price is and would be affected by the War since investors sentiments affects the market.
Despite its strength, many still consider it second to Gold hence why we see increase in gold in time like this
While Bitcoin comes a little late because people first reaction is Gold before they realize that they would yield more from Bitcoin.

War effect in Bitcoin, short bearish but mid and long Bullish.

Money is very sensitive to anything, especially geopolitical events. People prefer to exit their positions and wait to see what happens. Usually, there's a price drop followed by a quick V-shaped recovery. Anyway, I plan to stay fully invested just as I have been since 2022. I don't care about short-term fluctuations,  my personal goal is something that will take years to materialize, so any sharp drop is an opportunity for me.

There's a theory going around here in Brazil that the companies buying Bitcoin are the new "altcoins",  in other words, the explosive price increases that used to be seen in random small coins will now be seen in the stock prices of the companies that choose to hold Bitcoin as part of their strategic reserves.

Not the best look for Chelsea for losing 3-1 to Flamengo.
Flamengo is one of the top Brazilian clubs and the current leader of the table, but Chelsea is one of the top teams of the strongest league in the world, Premier League. A loss could happen to anyone, but Flamengo dominated in almost every aspect of the game, which is a bit of a surprise.
It's not the end of the world for Chelsea, they are placed 2nd in Group D and all they need is at least a draw in their last match of the group stage against ES Tunis.

A minimal but fully deserved 2-1 win by Bayern over Boca Juniors means Bayern have already secured the spot in the round of 16. They can now give some key players some rest in the last match of the group stage.

The new style of play implemented by coach Filipe Luís made all the difference in this match. I'm really impressed by how meteoric his career as a young coach has been. He has everything it takes to become one of the best managers in the world. I'm very happy with what he's been able to accomplish, especially after so many disappointments with previous coaches at Flamengo.

Re: CONMEBOL 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification (South America)

At least I got to see the Brazilian national team win the World Cup twice live (on TV, of course), in 1994 and 2002. I don’t know about you, but I believe many people here on the forum didn’t witness that.

I was doing the math and some research, if the Brazilian team doesn't win the 2026 World Cup, it will surpass the previous record for the longest title drought, which was 24 years (1970–1994; 2002–2026). That would mean almost three decades without winning the trophy. I think that’s also a big reason why the fans have abandoned the team… there’s no hype, no major achievements, etc. Kids and teenagers today don’t even know what it’s like to see Brazil as world champions.

I also watched the 1994 and 2002 World Cups  Cool Cool Cool
I have great memories, and people who aren't Brazilian have no idea what a World Cup is like here in our country, where practically everyone closes their shops, there are no classes, everyone goes to watch the games with family and friends...

Today it seems that the players don't have that notion, they play very well for their clubs, but when it's their turn to play for Brazil, something is missing, the will is missing and the fans no longer identify with these players
There are few today who have that ability
That's why we criticize the national team so much

Now all we can do is wait and hope that Ancellotti finds a good team to make Brazil play well again
At least a World Cup semi-final would be a good thing under the circumstances.

That’s so cool, we’re practically from the same generation. Do you remember how fun it was to paint the sidewalks and streets with the crests and colors of the World Cup teams? I remember my street would be fully decorated with paintings, little green and yellow flags... it was amazing. It’s a shame that all that spirit has faded over time. Those were good times, something the younger generations will never truly experience.

Simply unbelievable that Botafogo beat Paris Saint-Germain, everyone here in Brazil is in shock. Not even Botafogo fans themselves believed this could happen. My friends who support Botafogo are celebrating this win like it was a championship final lol

Soon my team Flamengo will play against Chelsea... I’m hoping for a win, since random things are happening in this Club World Cup,  everything is just completely unpredictable.
Yeah, definitely the Brazilian heritage is absolutely outstanding. Look how brilliantly all of their clubs just defeated the European top flight.

Results:
Botafogo 2-1 Seattle
 Botafogo 1-0 PSG
 Palmeiras 0-0 Porto
 Palmeiras 2-0 Al Ahly
Flamengo 2-0 Espérance
 Flamengo 3-1 Chelsea
Fluminense 0-0 Dortmund

🇧🇷 Undefeated domination! 🏆

We can clearly monitor it well that's how good is the Brazilians are. Even over champions PSG didn't even get the victory... Chelsea was a last hope, but unfortunately they also lost the match. We have considered just European football and players as dominant, although South America also has a lot of talent. Now I think that market dominance will make South America  players trend.

However, in FIFA club world, they are with a superior run. Now we will see who becomes the champion. American or European or Middle East.

Sometimes I get the impression that European teams don’t fully understand how Brazilian teams play, since the only time they face each other is usually in Club World Cup matches. Brazilian clubs have a completely different style compared to Europe, which makes playing against them totally unpredictable.

But I was really happy with my favorite team winning today (Flamengo), and winning while clearly being the better side on the field. The first half was great, lots of intensity, and in the end, Flamengo showed they can play on equal terms with any club in the world.

I saw some news here: https://ge.globo.com/sp/santos-e-regiao/futebol/times/santos/noticia/2025/06/17/neymar-diz-que-ficou-perto-de-defender-o-fluminense-na-copa-do-mundo-de-clubes.ghtml
This source is in portuguese only guys

Neymar said that he almost signed with Fluminense for the Club World Cup that is taking place now but that he preferred to stay in Santos to train and improve his fitness
The article also mentions that Neymar's father, who is also his manager, went to Miami to listen to some offers from European teams
I think it will depend on which team will make him an offer or whether he stays in Santos.

What are your bets for Neymar?
Stay at Santos or go to a European team?
I think Santos. Right now Neymar father seems to want to make Santos work around Neymar so there is no reason to join a European team where he will just be a player and nothing more. Just with marketing in the brazilian market they can earn a lot more money. Even buy part of Santos to try to make it shine again.

The way Neymar is playing now, he will get hurt and do nothing for weeks if he goes to a serious team.

But I was very surprised to see that he almost joined Fluminense

Me neither, I never imagined Neymar would be interested in playing for Fluminense. But apparently, the contract renewal is stuck. Neymar’s father didn’t like the proposal (a performance-based contract) and started looking for other clubs to hear offers. I think Neymar is a risky signing at this point, no club in their right mind is going to pay his high salary without at least some guarantee of sporting return.

Re: Are you now desensitized?

Bitcoin goes in a cycle. Up and down. Down and up. But every market movement still gets reported in a way that attempts to shook the investors and make them think and make them act impulsively either through FOMO or FUD.

My question is how long should you have been involved with bitcoin to be desensitized with news that is trying to target investors into making irrational decisions? Even after years of being into bitcoin, do you still feel anxious and act impulsively? Or have you gotten a hold of yourself?

Basically, it's about understanding all the solid fundamentals that took it from a price of $0.00 to over $100,000, that is, decentralized money... digital scarcity (something that can only be created once, like inventing the wheel or discovering fire). In the end, feeling comfortable in this world of internet money depends entirely on your level of knowledge and on understanding that there are no shortcuts, and that every so-called shortcut on the path to financial freedom is a trap.

Re: Topic For FOMC (Federal Open Market Committee) Meetings
by
criptoevangelista
on 19/06/2025, 19:22:16 UTC
No changes again. The FED has left the same interest rates for the federal funds rate, and the markets have no reacted much to it since it was basically fully priced in. A cut would have pumped the market, since we are not seeing unemployment going up for now and I think that is being one of the key metrics for them to not cut. So im wondering if they are just going to wait for unemployment to go up, but at that point the recession is already there and there would be another 2001/2008 style event where they panic cut into a crash, and after that we go to the moon.

From the news I've read around here, the Fed signaled two interest rate cuts still for this year, 2025, but with this war, I think it's unlikely, especially since the United States is considering getting involved. This war has been a disappointment for me. Just when it seemed like the economy was starting to recover, this happens. Sooner or later, it's going to affect our lives.

Re: Bitcoin e a guerra no Oriente médio

Re: Money Match in videogames - play betting
by

on 19/06/2025, 12:10:18 UTC

Everyone feels bad when they lost money mate, so video games is not that a exception. But there could be some of us we really are into this kind of one on one games and they got a kick on playing against each other and beating them with money on the line. And this kind of games have evolved a lot since late 2019 if I'm not mistaken. As there are a lot of money right now, in millions, individuals or teams events and it's country vs country. And if I'm not mistaken, it has even been discussed if this kind of games could be considered sports or it could be included in the Olympics.

A very interesting point: e-sports Olympics would be really cool, and I believe that in the future, with greater popularization of this sports modality, it will be totally feasible. Here in my country (Brazil), we’ve even had video game tournaments broadcast on cable TV channels, meaning there is a market, and it is highly competitive and profitable. I think it’s just a matter of time before it’s truly recognized as a real sport, since it requires skill and a lot of training to stand out, just like a conventional sports athlete.

Well, this tournament is just like a preseason matches

I assumed the same thing at the start of the competition, but after watching Real Madrid game against Al Hilal, I don't believe I can consider this competition a preseason match anymore. To be honest, I expected the match to be difficult, but no matter how difficult it turned out, Real Madrid should have been able to win the game no matter what the challenges they faced, but Al Hilal took it as if they were playing a final against Real Madrid, which they took so seriously because we have been underestimated them since they are from the Saudi League.

Cristiano Ronaldo statement that the Saudi League is far better compared to the US League is now very clear and understood. We saw how Al Hilal dominated Real Madrid like an opponent they usually meet in a season. For those who did not believe Ronaldo statement in 2024, I hope it is now clear and we can all see the opponent he is competing with in the Saudi League. This competition can only get more interesting in the next round.

I was surprised to see Al-Hilal performed so well against Real Madrid. Surely Real Madrid are not at their peaks but they are among the top teams in Europe. Certainly among the top 10 but they were stopped on 1-1 draw by Al-Hilal. Even though real were better at field but they failed to score. There are not many good teams in the group so Real Madrid should still comfortably qualify for the konockouts but its still a setback.

Now each of teams in the world cup has played at least a game and PSG, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Juventus and Manchester City are comfortable wins. Group A has equal points with all draws with zero goals.

It was a surprise for me too, that Al-Hilal game, since in my opinion the difference between the teams is quite big. This is already the second big surprise I've seen in this tournament, the other one was Fluminense vs Bayern... Today there's another game I'm curious to watch: Botafogo versus PSG. If Botafogo wins, it'll be the third surprise for me lol.

Tomorrow is the most important game of the season for the team I support: Flamengo.

Thinking about today’s bets,  any suggestions?

Who would have thought that Fluminense would give Borussia Dortmund a hard time, actually being the better team in the match... Honestly, I thought Fluminense would get thrashed, since they live in completely different realities. I'm genuinely very surprised by this result.
