Some 'news' about this token:

The CEO left the company last year. (The company was mostly 4 persons i think)

Alis, the company, has been acquired by Minkabu, which operates, among other things, an internet portal about the stock market, etc.
Later, Alis merged with Livedoor (also owned by Minkabu). Livedoor was once a popular Japanese portal; however, I am not sure if it is more than a shell company now.

Recently, Jimmy, the English speaker, left the company, and the Discord channel has also been closed.

The site alis.to (although I don't use it since it is for Japanese only) doesn't seem to have evolved for years.

Communication has always been the most opaque (once they got funds from the ICO) and the coin has never been listed on a real exchange.

You can consider the whole thing dead. An extremely disapointing (and unpleasant) experience.

~3m alis tokens got stolen from cryptopia (if i understand correctly) and i suppose got dumped today on yobit/coinexchange.

If your tokens were on cryptopia you can say good bye.
If you are accumulating, just keep them on an eth address (MEW, etc), don't let them on exchanges.

From discord :

We are aiming to be listed on a major exchange, but current regulations in Japan are strict and do not allow us to follow the path as we picture.  We are proceeding the preparation step by step and appreciate your patience.  In contrast, the product growth is definitely on track, and we will throw a big promotion when the product goes open in December.  At that timing, new users don’t need to wait to be registered, and the number of users is expected to jump.

In the meantime, we know we need more communication in English so that unnecessary concerns won’t spread.  For that reason, we would like to try our first AMA in English next week.  Please ask us anything, we are happy to share our thoughts!

Hooooray!!  We’ve just launched “tip feature”!!

====================
Development update of closed beta version (β0.21.0)
- Released the tip feature
====================

Now anyone on ALIS is able to tip your favorite articles with your ALIS token!  Please use it and give us your feedbacks so that we can work all the bugs out before it goes open at the end of the year. We truly appreciate your inputs!

*Clarification: This tip feature is for any ALIS users to “tip an article” and different from the API that we’ve been working on with Microsoft.

We made a partnership with Microsoft for working on a “tip” feature based on Azure. PoA is one of the most possible options to create DApps, so we’ll share how to do it and how good using Azure is!

Lol stop asking about airdrop
MonaCoin is mineable and has 100M marketcap.
Mona is kinda the dogecoin of japan no?. Started as a joke/for fun. They will make technical update (lightning etc ?) but when it come to "why buy this ?" I dont think it will get widespread use in the future.

Not saying it will not see new Ath, but really unpredictable.
Also take a look at Alis token for another japanese coin with a lot of ongoing work

Snapshot? Colourful interface? Are you seriously? When will be a big exchange? When will you start doing something to increase the price? Almost nobody believes in you, and you are not doing what you must!

cointopper post is spam for his site, unrelated to Alis team.

Are this people going to listed this coin on bittrex or binance ? I like this coin and waiting next events.

They are doing their best for exchange listing but won't disclose news before confirmation. Obviously they don't want their coin to become a pump&dump. (they have no product yet).

We need to be patient. I read that some exchange (binance...) ask big amount (like 10BTC) to be listed. That a bit pumpish to pay for listing when you have no product.

According to roadmap, current (company) website renewall for mid feb. And alis website launch not before April 2018.

i have used only coinexchange and cryptopia, don't know about Yobit.

Coinexchange has been a pain lately because of permanent "wallet maintenance". Cryptopia worked fine.

Is this project dead ?

1. Telegram chat which is written on coinmarketcap.com does not already exist.
2. Roadmap link to Trello. Last update there was at 23th of October.
3. Github isn't updated too.

Project is absolutely not dead but some infos are not up to date on coinmarketcap.
(Japanese are usually not very good / active on non-japanese sites)

Correct telegram channel link is on https://alismedia.jp (you can contact dev directly, but many spam "when moon ?" stuff)
New trello page : https://trello.com/b/BBhg390G/alis

Check their twitter as official source of infos. https://twitter.com/ALIS_media They make an english and japanese post every day.
They are currently doing some meetups in japan to talk about the project. Next one at Nagoya (tomorrow)

I don't think dev for the site has actually started (or the github is not yet public) they are still working on planning/design

They should update their company website soon

The fact they kept 50% of the token for them is discutable but it was clearly announced on the whitepaper.
The team being 100% japanese (without shady foreign millionaire investor Cheesy) is a good thing imho.

I have high hope for this project.
