What about some GEO "blocked" on https://geocoin.cash wallet?
Withdraw is still disabled (my tx was from 2015  Grin)

We will be migrating all the current balances from https://geocoin.cash wallets in preparation for the blockchain upgrade.

Is there anything in particular i need to do before accessing the new wallet?

I have only the user and psw of the old https://geocoin.cash (or http://wallet.geocoin.cash Huh )

Same here, those wallets have been locked or under construction for 2+ years. The dev said they would restore the backend but it never happened.

We are very excited to announce that the ERC20 wallet contracts have been developed for the $GEO backend.  Our goal is to test these wallet contracst out on the testnet over the next few months as we push towards the full launch.  Our focus will be on tying the backend altogether!  Cool

Does this mean that the geocoin.cash balances will finally be restored and withdrawals enabled? Been waiting years for this to happen

How does Tierion compare to ChainLink and Aeternity Oracle functions, apples to apples?

I'm not extremely familiar with either Chainlink or Aeternity, but they appear to be in a similar space as Tierion. At the end of the day, one of the most important goals for any of these projects is developer adoption and ease of implementation... which are the keys to long term success. I can't speak other projects, but Tierion seems to have kept this in focus with the Chainpoint Logic App, developed in conjunction with Microsoft, nearing launch any day now (https://flow.microsoft.com/en-us/connectors/shared_chainpointnode/chainpoint/).

Tierion also scales extremely well, which is necessary for most practical business applications of connecting data to public blockchains. Each node is capable of over 50M proofs per day on relatively cheap hardware (https://medium.com/tierion/chainpoint-2018-review-78c0581df4ec)

I have my concerns with the tokenomics behind TNT which is likely the chief reason for its low market cap. It is an issue that hopefully will be cleared up in the near future, as a roadmap is scheduled for release in Q1 2019. However, I suspect since Tierion operates more like a traditional company, they are waiting for further regulatory guidance before they lay their hand on the table... which is understandable, even though the eagerness is killing me inside.

Having said all that, do I think Chainlink is worth over 30x TNT at $190M vs $6M? Or Aeternity over 15x at $90M vs $6M? TNT seems like a pretty solid value in comparison considering their business partnerships.

Here's a pretty good review to check: https://www.coinbureau.com/review/tierion-tnt/

Proof of existence in the Blockchain with Tierion, RethinkDB, and PubNub : https://www.pluralsight.com/guides/proof-of-existence-in-the-blockchain-with-tierion-rethinkdb-and-pubnub

"Conclusion: As we have seen, we can access the blockchain in an easy way using Tierion. Furthermore, we can benefit from the real-time features of RethinkDB and Pubnub to improve user experience and sync data. This proves once again that by combining the right APIs, you can build simple but powerful applications."

Chainpoint 2018 Review : https://medium.com/tierion/chainpoint-2018-review-78c0581df4ec

Goals for 2019

Publish the first roadmap for Chainpoint
The broad decline in crypto markets has shaken out speculators. We now feel more comfortable publishing forward looking plans. The first Chainpoint roadmap will be published in Q1 2019.

Chainpoint Logic App Launch
The Chainpoint Logic App developed in conjunction with Microsoft is scheduled to launch in January 2019. This will make Chainpoint accessible to millions of new developers.

Increase Adoption of Chainpoint
We’re thrilled with the real world adoption of Chainpoint. Our goal in 2019 is to accelerate adoption and make it even easier for developers to integrate Chainpoint into their applications.

Multiple Core Operators
We’re focused on growing the network of independent operators of Chainpoint Core in 2019.

so quiet...

In real world a project needs of years to be developed and tested.
Se should collect pacience and learn to wait.

Per Wayne in Discord - "Here's another visual preview of the upcoming Chainpoint Logic App. Development is complete. We're just waiting on the team at Microsoft to approve the release."

https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/400023693822132227/514994030208352268/logic-app-example-simple.png

It looks very simple  Grin Is there more information about Chainpoint Logic App? Its real use cases, technology etc. Anyways, I am glad the partnership with Microsoft was refreshed.

Not that I'm aware of, but the teaser included all the right buzz words... App... complete ... Microsoft. Hopefully we'll get some more updates on this app as well as further tokenomic information from the team in the near future. FCT doing well even in this down market, looking for TNT to join the party!

Just a note from a security perspective, 85% (~2.68M / 3.18M) of the circulating GEO supply is in the Bittrex wallet (https://ubiqscan.io/address/0xb3c4e9ca7c12a6277deb9eef2dece65953d1c864). Obviously, this had a lot to do with the transition to ubiq where people were moving coins to the exchange for the swap.

If there were ever a security issue on Bittrex (not saying there will be, but this is Crypto after all and this type of stuff has happened to other coins/exchanges), Geocoin would be screwed. It might be a good idea to start diversifying where holdings are kept as a community so a high price isn't paid by everyone if something were to happen.

Within the past few weeks we have been pre-seeding the map through automation.  This process has already dropped hundreds of addition $GEO onto the map!

This weekend we will be continuing to improve upon this automatic process.  We also have a few more backend settings to work on in order to prepare for some beta testers of the collection process.  Cool

I hope this backend work includes restoring balances / enabling withdrawals to old accounts! Been waiting almost 2 years to regain access

Greetings dear friends! My single node working well already for 189 days 12 hours already! And there is still no reward! That dissapoints me every day more and more... Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry
And the price of TNT fell to hell...

Given the number of nodes on the network, you should be due for a reward shortly or you are not consistently passing audits. How many passed/failed audits do you have for this node?

When nodes count will be available to public? The market ranking keeps dropping. Did this project fail?

The node count can be found on this calculator: https://tnt.solutions/

There are currently 8,409 active nodes.

As far as the market ranking, I'd pin lack of tokenomics and a general downturn in the crypto market as the main problems. From a development standpoint, there are multiple GitHub commits daily if you follow Discord. Chainpoint adoption is going quite well from what I understand with continually added business partnerships:

 https://medium.com/tierion/tierion-joins-hyperledger-and-the-linux-foundation-9238e6bbe97
 https://medium.com/tierion/tokensoft-uses-chainpoint-to-improve-compliance-in-token-sales-f4cf2dba5935
 https://medium.com/tierion/signrequest-uses-chainpoint-to-anchor-documents-to-the-bitcoin-blockchain-f3e6fce0db86
 https://medium.com/tierion/evrythngs-blockchain-integration-hub-integrates-chainpoint-to-track-supply-chain-provenance-d9fb56e2f96b
 https://medium.com/tierion/xero-integrates-with-tierion-to-secure-accounting-data-using-chainpoint-5ec6b2a1a5c6)

Tierion as a company is far from failing. The main question is when, if ever, will the success of Chainpoint be correlated to TNT the token. If adoption/correlation occurs, this is a top 25 token imo... but only time will tell.

I reinstalled my vps masternode and now I get this error "the public URI provided is already registered" . how to resolve?

You would have needed to back up the hmac keys if you did a reinstall. I don't believe you can register a new node under an IP address that another node is registered under.

You can set up a fresh vps, but you will lose your position in the rewards queue unless you import the hmac keys from your previously registered node.

What's the ROI for running a Tierion node now? And is there any way/place to check nodes count?

There are currently 8,256 nodes on the network, you can check in the node UI if you have a registered node (just go to registered nodes IP address and use wallet address as password).

The current time to a reward is 8256 nodes / 48 rewards/day = ~172 days (5.7 months)

With a reward size of 1500 TNT, the current 8256 nodes, and a minimum balance of 5000 TNT, the yearly ROI (in TNT) is ~63.7 %.

The dollar amount ROI is a little more tricky and dynamic to calculate as it is a function of the number of nodes on the network, future reward amount / reward frequency, and VPS hosting costs.

On the short term, I think it is easiest to look at it as a 30% ROI in TNT in ~6 months for $30 in hosting costs ($5 x 6 months). Basically if you are a long term holder and believe in the project and higher future token prices, its not a bad idea to run some nodes. If you are looking for a month to month stream of income, at this point the risk would outweigh the benefits with such a long time to reward and price volitility over that time period.... but this mentality applies across the board for crypto mining in general. Historically there have only been a few 3-6 month windows where mining is extremely profitable; in between booms, you're lucky if you can break even.

Very accurate calculation. I would emphasize last two sentences of your post - lots of masternode investors hope to get kind of fixed monthly revenue. The fact is you still have to have a strong confidence in the masternode coin for longer term due to price fluctuations.  Wink

Someone created a calculator for node profitability... it also tracks the current number of nodes on the network and current price of TNT: https://tnt.solutions/

weifa, I don't remember, maybe I asked this question before. How soon will your project be fully presented to the community with geomining, dropping and collecting coins according to your forecasts? (3, 6, 12, 18 months) I can't help myself to wait for it  Grin
We don't have any set release date yet, but we are aiming to have it out into the community this year if we can get everything up and running smoothly.  Still playing around with a few more items in the frontend MapBox interface for concurrency controls and near real-time data updates.  We will have the KryptoTech.io Blockchain Technologies team assist us with the wallet backend setup once the new Ubiq UIP #1 algo has been tested and implemented successfully.

We've got a few other things on the go behind the scenes which could help grow the exposure of the GeoCoin project through marketing/promotions etc.

I also do encourage you all to join the Ubiq Community Discord with the steps posted above if you're interested in seeing how active the Ubiq community truly is!

Will balances stuck on geocoin.cash be credited once the site goes live? Withdrawals have been suspended for over 1.5 years... I have balances on the website from when I previously tested dropping coins, some that even do not appear in the associated deposit address on the old blockchain.

I believe several of the operating nodes are barely receiving any hash data, which led me to come to a conclusion that there is an over supply of Tierion operating nodes that at which are not contributing to the Tierion's proof validation. With such number of non-contributing nodes. May I understand what is the reason for further opening of registration of more nodes? Is it purely as an attempt to increase the demand for TNT token and push up the price?

Imo, it is a positive to move the node economy to a free market of supply and demand rather than an artificial cap. It also allows new users a chance to register nodes outside of the people who previously registered nodes in the short/competitive registration windows. At this point, it is too early to judge whether open registration has a positive or negative effect on price. Long term, (in theory) it should aid in price appreciation as a larger share of circulating TNT is held in nodes; but this would require a much larger share percentage than current levels. (Currently: ~8075 nodes x 5000 TNT = 40.375M TNT / 428.481M circulating TNT = 9.42% TNT in nodes)

As far as hash data, there is a service discovery mechanism that identifies the most reliable nodes and sends data to them. While I agree the unused computing power is wasteful atm, having a large/stable set of nodes will be beneficial as the user base grows.
