Re: [ANN][ARG] Argentum || A New Begining || UPDATE YOUR WALLET ||

Hello, everyone....

I've not been around for a very Loooooong time as you may have witnessed.

I had left the the World of Crypto due to life taking precedence over everything else.
I'm still not very active and I was more of a background Admin for this coin.

I would love to take ARG back into the mainstream, but alas I really have no skill's when it comes to coding and I would need to either buckle down and damn well learn (not gonna happen, life still to hectic) or get some of you involved in contributing to the common cause.

I no longer hold any ARG either unfortunately, and TBH I'm flabbergasted that Argentum is still grinding away, albeit on the fringes of odd exchanges and pools.

I have completely lost touch with everyone who did all the great work in adding the Algo's and updating the wallet since I disappeared, Proton being the main one...

I originally revived this coin years ago on a request from an ARG holder while I was working setting up crypto wallets for an exchange.

I shall try to come back, but don't be to optimistic for now, Pandemic and all I have too many fingers in many different pies...

Hi Sampey,

Just a question?
Is there a way to cancel all ping orders on a market automatically when the market has gone over or under a certain price.

eg: of you have a Stop Ping Creation in place and the ma/rket goes above or below those settings, can a deletion of ping trades be initiated in any way, is there only the options to buy/sell in the stop loss section.

maybe an addition in the stop.loss tab for removal of ping trades would be nice or in the Stop Ping Tab.

reason I'm asking is that I'm hitting some max orders in some exchanges and would like to clean up any really low/high trades that are taking up trades.

Cheers

Hi,
no, there's no conditional order delete (Except for recreation routine, but this is not what you mean)

Okay, thanks for the reply.

Is there any possibility of such a thing being added in the future?

Cheers.

Hi,

Can I ask what method of API CAT uses to access Poloniex?

Its just that they have a notice up saying that v1 of their API will obsoleted on 25th September, dose this mean that CAT will cease to function after that date?

Below is their notification is worded:

"Friendly reminder to those using our v1 push API. Please switch to our v2 push API by September 25, 2018 as v1 will be obsolete on that day. Read our API documentation here (https://poloniex.com/support/api).Posted by The Poloniex Team at 2018-07-30 21:25:48"

Thanks.
Crypt

CAT doesn't use PUSH Api. PUSH is something sent by the server to you, like a push notification on your phone.
CAT use REST API. It's CAT that asks for data.

Ah! Okay, thanks Sampey

pool?
Most people seem to be solo mining.

Does anyone have a working p2pool? There are some problems remaining with the versions our group tested. If anyone wants to try, please do!!

I could setup a UNOMP POOL for SMLY if anyone is interested.

Crypt
Definitely interested :-)

My guess is that the main thing to verify is that SMLY's 3-way handling of the coinbase doesn't conflict with fixed settings in the pool.

I;m going to create a pool as soon as I get a chance.,

sorting out some personal stuff just now.

Anyone here want a simple pool setup for FreatherCoinClassic?

I have a UNOMP pool I have been using solo for a little while, I can open it up for mining seeing that there are few pools out there...

Oh! does anyone think that its worth updating the FTCC Wallet?

I only want to get at an OP post and updated it if I change the content at a github location.

Does the unofficial one do this at the moment?
I'll be looking forward to the new forum too :-)

anyone else experiencing this on cryptopia?

buys and sells seem to compete against themselves, incriminating the buy sell value even though there is nobody else competing against your bids.

anybody seen this?

Nice work!

I'm going to set up a web-wallet for Argentum, but I'm wondering, can this be used for multiple coins?

Just one other question can the 2fa Google Authenticator be changed to reflect anything else other than Wallet in the App?

Difficulty
Re-targets every 250 blocks: 250 blocks until re-target insures accurate difficulty adjustments while almost eliminating the risk of difficulty stranding.

Is this some kind of joke ? lol

Clearly you know that anyone can solo mine or pool mine with major hashrate for those 250-500 blocks and make the difficulty stick for pretty much forever for the normal everyday miners.

This difficulty adjustment is so 2013 ancient, back then network hashrates weren't strong enough to even realize this major flaw in network growth & hopping hence the continuous difficulty adjustment upgrades, e.g KGW, DGW, DGW2, DGW3, DigiShield, etc.

Well yes it is so 2013 right enough, that's why we need a wallet upgrade!

The wallet has not been updated since 2014, and one of the things we want to get done is a KGW type Continuous Difficulty Adjustment.

Did i mention the coin had died?

It was actively traded until Cryptsy threw a cog and went into oblivion.

The reason we are still using this archaic wallet is so that the coin does not die altogether, It would be almost impossible to revive if all mining were to stop.
As it was it took a bit to get going again considering the block-chain had not moved in over 45 days.

watcing with interest

Nice to see its peaked your interest at least :-)

any market listed..?

As stated in the main post above:

Quote
Exchanges:
CoinExchange: https://www.coinexchange.io
ARG Market Direct link on CoinExchange: https://www.coinexchange.io/market/ARG/BTC

Okay, not a BIG exchange and fairly new, but at least there's somewhere for now,
Actually I like CoinExchange.io ' s simplicity, and no bots for now :-)

Its also listed on http://payservices.com.

I might put a market request in at Yobit as someone previously suggested, but I would like to get a more up to date wallet sorted first.

I can't sinc, any new nodes or an advice?

Yes I had initially a hell of a time getting everything synced.
And as Saracenis said, I also had to restart the wallet a few times on one or two locations.

Current nodes listed on the Block Explorer site are :

addnode=112.10.107.106
addnode=144.76.71.141
addnode=162.251.172.203
addnode=54.154.138.95
addnode=74.111.105.96
addnode=80.2.75.167
addnode=82.29.4.122
addnode=86.174.4.251
addnode=86.182.114.131
addnode=88.206.187.247

Try those/

This is also one of the reasons I wish to get the wallet updated,

If I might suggest, more active exchange wouldn't hurt. Like Yobit.net for example. To bring more interest to coin - Just my thoughts Wink
Or its better done after wallet update?

A good suggestion indeed, but I think we should at least get the wallet updated first, also have to get the history and timeline of ARG sorted out from all the BCT threads and the Forum posts, get an over all picture of our history so that we can present any new exchanges with facts and not hearsay,

That way we can go on with confidence and transparency.

Stupid question from new starter. The DB_CONFIG file must be as text file with config extension, or just raw file. And next stupid question - in a roaming directory or just where I downloaded qt wallet? Sorry and thank you

no extension on the DB_CONFIG file, it goes in the appdata/roaming/arg folder.

Cheers mate,

I've amended the main post above to reflect this, hope its readable enough :-)
