I think investing in companies building on top of MSC is a far more productive way to reduce my % of MSC held than burning it. It attracts people to our ecosystem, which is good for everyone holding MSC.
True. If the liquidity goes up it will be a better plan. Can I get a clarification on if you need Mastercoin to trade smart property for smart property or if it's specific like ones that associated to fiat like usdcoin. If it's for all that is a gamble on it could drive the price up for Mastercoin or it will drive people away because like I said earlier an extra step could really subconsciously drive people away.

Serious question here..   Have you considered burning your own Masters and keep it a 0% fee service ?

p.s  This gif is horrible
This would be a great idea. They don't want to let go of there money though. If this want's to become extremly serious. There should not be a monopoly of who owns these coins. According to this post there kinda is.
JR owns 30% of the mastercoins. Is there really any point in voting? Seems easier just to ask JR what he wants.

Well, if you follow the link, you'll see 50.4227 % of all Mastercoins (at the time of writing of that doc) are held in 17 addresses. So yeah, there is definetily a concentration of power, so to speak.

Nevertheless this might be addressed by the way votings are done, say for example very critical things need at least 75 % agreement between all voters. I get your point and share your concern to some degree, but it would be a step in the right direction, right?
Also pointing out that you burn mastercoin when you trade a smart property for a smart property. Does that mean you constantly need mastercoin to trade anything? A distributed exchange is to me like creating a free market. With the fee you always bring it back to mastercoin. It almost hinders the person wanting to trade just that one smart property. Adding a extra step. If I misunderstood that blog post then disregard the last part of this post.

Yes, you'll end up holding an illiquid trading vehicle for a coin nearing its 1-year anniversary with very little to show for it.

That's pretty funny.  I bought MSC at .01 last year and today they are worth .03.  That is 300% appreciation.  Can you please give me another investment so good as MSC?

MSC is working hard on a kick-ass protocol.  They don't care one bit about the exchange and liquidity.  Those are private markets having nothing to do with protocol development.  If people buy and sell there, it has nothing to do with the money held by the foundation to hire programmers to continue their work to advance the protocol.  The foundation does indeed hope BTC price goes up so they have more money to pay others, but only the day traders give a flying fuck about the very meager trade activity in MasterXChange.  MasterXChange is no reflection whatever true value of the MastercoinProtocol.  Only a very tiny percentage of MSC holders participate in MasterXChange activity - and nearly all of those are kooks.

MasterXChange doesn't reflect any true consensus of value - only those holding appreciable amounts of MSC could tell you that.

TraderTimm - you sure spew out tons of shit.  Did you lose your wife's ring in this deal?
You took what TraderTimm said completely out of context. You nitpicked on one small thing he said and went off on a tangent. What he was doing was just commentating on sections of an article posted by Forbes. I guess they "spew out tons of shit" too. Having meager trade of your coin can show that a lot of people arn't coming into the project and getting there own coin. That being said it somewhat reflects true value. You really didn't say anything in your post.

There also was a article release about the fiasco of the crowdsale of maidsafe.

You never know if those planned crowdsale's might back out.

Last few months peoples have speak that mastercoin is really over priced. Now that have drop there (4-5x counterparty price) where that need to be ~2-3 month ago when counterparty was in same development level. Now counterparty is far away but still in low price so what is mastercoin "real price" if we look project, development and coin amount? $2-3?

And what about maidsafe project that give much hope for msc but we must be really sceptic about that. That company have really big plan what is not easy to complete.
When counterparty launched it had a distributed exchange with features months before mastercoin so msc and xcp has never been the same development wise. It was only command line so that hindered use. counterparty's price stays low because people who initially invested slam there coins into the sell wall. I don't see why maidsafe should affect how mastercoin does. Didn't they just release a token and will switch to there own coin. They only used mastercoin to do an initial investment which was a little bit of a fiasco. Time comes they won't be involved with mastercoin at the level they are now. Also if I just said anything wrong call me out on it. This is just my understanding and me pointing things out.

disappointed on you and MSC team!
No you are not.  You are disappointed with the performance of the market.  You didn't make your 50X on investment and now you want to blame JR.  JR isn't responsible for 'pumping' markets.  JR is responsible for building a protocol and they continue to work on providing a good system.  Now that there is so much 'sell pressure' - you somehow thing JR is not doing his job.  That is bullshit.  Mastercoin isn't a pump and dump scheme.  It actually has to be built.  Panic is for Dogecoin.  Go there.

well said.
That's not really well said. There not saying it's a pump and dump scheme. He didn't say anything about JR. There disappointed with the management of this project. How a much newer coin produced much more than mastercoin and is widening that gap. With the amount of money that was thrown at this project this project shouldn't be doing mass development. It should be tweaking the baseline of the protocol that isn't there yet. There wouldn't be such a panic if another protocol didn't basically show them up.

What dacoinminster is saying about bitcoin is all valid. What he didn't point out was that there wasn't really anything else like it that people could flock too. Also didn't have the amount of people in crypto currencies. There's Counterparty which is doing what mastercoin is doing and plans to do. It's already implemented and doing it better. No one really doubts your plans, people are mad about how there being executed. Everybody, if not I want to know why they did it extremely faster and why Mastercoin couldn't.

I'm trying to follow everything that's being said. So to do an asset issuance on the mastercoin protocol you have to have a good chunk of all mastercoins like tens of thousands, or did I miss something.

Is this VHS or Beta?

I've mentioned it before and I need to mention it again.  I'm a little dismayed that MSC is moving up in price while XCP is moving down.  I like XCP better for some reason, although I'm not completely sure why.  I think MSC's initial lack of progress turned me off.

Any really sober and unemotional comments on this?
There are people getting there XCP out of there blockchain.info wallet were it was burned and dumping them. They are suppressing the rise in the price. Mastercoin is better in price because they were "first". They spent a lot time hyping it up without doing anything and MSC can also be easily manipulated to sustain the price. Not all but some people are using XCP as another coin to frantically make quick money because it's still above initial investment. I wouldn't even classify it as a coin. I'd call it a tool to unlocking crypto currencies true potential. That would separate and maybe make Counterparty stand out from anything else. I feel what could make or break anything is all in the marketing. I went a little off topic from your post but what im trying to say is everything that is superior in Counterparty needs to be pushed all throughout bitcoin media. Mastercoin did that a lot in late 2013 and I think Counterparty should get prepared to do a little more because it's sometimes hard for any product to become widely used and excepted among common people by just being superior without a little shouting from the roof tops in my opinion.

That's all just my two cents

The ban that you might be thinking of is that theyer are large china based companies that will not deal with bitcoin as a currency. Nothing was mentioned as a commodity.

Is there anyone who has a contact at BTER?  My xcp transfer has not gone through to poloniex for many hours now (still says Processing with no tx id) and i know 2 others with the same problem right now.  They never respond to my tickets!!!  Help please :-)

There is currently a problem with the XCP wallet on poloinex, ask one of the admins in the trollbox when it will be fixed.
I had a problem with my XCP transfering to my wallet from bter. I got a very vague response but I think they are looking into it. I think it might be the crypto.cipher module problem that was brought up some pages back in this thread.

yeah, Busoni@Polo said it's on Bter's end but they never respond to my tickets!  Did they actually email you back?

Yeah this is what they said
"Dear Sir,
Your request is recorded. The related person will check and fix it.
Thank you for patience"
They gave no information what so ever and kinda dodged my question on whats going on.

Why does blockscan.com always show the dex price as 0.01 when that is clearly not the price on any exchange?
Well yeah. That's the last price that XCP was sold on the dex. It wouldn't show any price on an exchange.

I know it wouldn't show the price of an exchange, but if you're correct it's the last price that XCP was sold for on the dex it shows the Dex is never/very rarely used by anyone  Undecided
That is true. I think the people that have spent the time getting counterpartyd up and running are probably larger stakeholders and are more informed on what XCP can do. They aren't going to sell cheap. It's probably a stand off on it. When the wallet comes out people just trading it as another coin will be able to use it and will sell it just at whatever the price is.

The Twitter spambots which have historically posted positive news on Mastercoin (as well as many other projects, to be fair), are now posting links to bellebite2014 posts to disparage Counterparty: https://www.dropbox.com/s/3qxtbed5dggmwqd/Screenshot%202014-03-30%2015.09.35.png

A sample of the Mastercoin posts these accounts make: https://www.dropbox.com/s/pw89c9dyozvx1dj/Screenshot%202014-03-30%2015.24.41.png

I don't know who is in charge of these accounts or what they are hoping to accomplish, but linking to the biggest troll in this thread as a source of Counterparty news is hilarious.

Why do you call these "Mastercoin posts"? I see no connection to the developers or foundation. Perhaps I'm missing something.
They're just generalizing. It's trying to say a portion of the Mastercoin community is trying to sabotage and plane trolling. I don't think he was trying to say that anyone in Mastercoin's foundation or there developers were doing this.

The XCP will never make it. You bastards are more interested in having pride that u created something. But hey, this altcoin era is about making money. whatever you have done is not invincible. I have been watching this shit since it conception in January. This coin is dead. XCP has given the worst return to its investors. Developers are boasting themselves as genius and busy rather than supporting price of XCP. If you all burners want atleast your investment back, get out of this shit now.
I saw a person just lash out at you for your opinion. that person in the wrong just like you. About the investment return it will be a gradual increase when the online wallet hits mainnet. It's unpredictable because most are just using a command line. The developers have not boasted at all. They have been low profile and only talk to give help on there creation. They just give the information on what the coin does. Not sure that's boasting, it's more informative. You look at cryptocurrency as a flash in the pan/get quick rich kind of thing. "this altcoin era is about making money" if you honestly think this than you don't see what they can be and you are just scrambling around like a chicken with it's head cut off. Just following another chart for another thing to trade. I want you to inform yourself before you decide to write slander on something you do not understand. Please write another reply with at least a fact in it.
