Dear Community (Important):

We need to finalize our decision on PoS staking rate of the coin. We put this up for debate many pages ago and a lot of you shared your ideas. I will try to summarize:

  • The majority of you invested in the coin mainly of its high stake rate in the first year and named it as its main feature: therefore we will honour it.
  • However, a lot of you raised concerns about the future and sustainability of the coin with a very high interest rate, which is a valid point. The original developer did not think about the future of the coin, and we don't think his decisions were in the interest of long term survival of the coin
  • Sudden change in the staking rate is NOT good for the coin as it creates a sudden change of its most significant specitication.

What I proposed a few pages ago:

I personally think a swift change PoS rate from 70-100% to 2-5% is not a good idea, it's a very big change for a coin and its specification. I very much prefer a more slow gradual decrease on shorter intervals (e.g. instead of jumping from 100% in year 1 to 2% in year 2, we can do a slow decrease every 1-2 months until we get to 2% within 2-3 years).

I don't think the original developer thought about the long-term PoS issues of the coin, this is evident from the code he wrote but this is something that we need to decide.

And you guys mostly seemed to agree.

Details will be like this:

Coins now: 171,000,000

  • Year 1, Month 1-2 : 100% - 199,500,000 AC
  • Year 1, Month 3-4 : 80%  -  226,100,000 AC
  • Year 1, Month 5-6 : 60%  -  248,710,000 AC
  • Year 1, Month 7-8 : 40%  -  265,290,666.6 AC
  • Year 1, Month 8-10: 30%  - 278,555,200 AC
  • Year 1, Month 10-12: 20% - 287,840,373.3 AC. This is end of Year 1
  • Year 2, Month 1-2 : 15% -   295,036,382 AC
  • Year 2, Month 3-4 : 10%  - 299,953,655 AC
  • Year 2, Month 5-6 : 8%  -  303,953,037 AC
  • Year 2, Month 7-8 : 6%  -  306,992,568 AC
  • Year 2, Month 8-10: 4%  -  309,039,185 AC
  • Year 2, Month 10-12: 3% - 310,584,381 AC. This is the end of Year 2
  • Year 3: 2% - 316,796,068
  • Year 4: 2%
  • ...
  • Year 10: 2% - 363,899,103 AC
  • Year 100: 2% - 2,162,700,201 AC

Note: These numbers are the maximum, if 100% of the coins stake all the time. This will not be the case obviously. So the actual total coin numbers will be significantly less but there is no way to know as we don't know what percentage will stake. This new staking system will be unique to our coin too, adding innovation to our investments!

I ask to postpone other discussions now to when we agreed to PoS staking rate, as this is what we need to decide on urgently. We can't do a poll as the thread is not self-moderated. That was essential for building trust.

Please let us know if you agree with this, and of course (even more importantly), if you disagree.

Agree.

my two cents...

interest rate should be very high 1st year. when AC gets relisted we need to offer a compelling reason to buy/hold

Holding 700,000 AC...

A few ways it can go from here -

1) The developer turns out to be a complete piece of shit and we never hear from them again. We put up 10BTC for a sophisticated blockchain fix that MAY or MAY NOT stop the bleeding. Assuming it does, think about the momentum we'll have?  Forget the "official multipool" news. We would enter the same category as WC but worse. zero demand will we see for a scamcoin. No way to cash out. Game over.

2) The developer miraculously comes back with proof that AC was hacked AND that he can fix the blockchain so 3B additional coins don't exist. Follows it up with announcement for official multipool. Exchanges reinstate AC instantly. Anything could happen from there.

As my rage is starting to subside I tell myself to prepare for the worst but hope for the best.

Hi everyone,

I just finished writing up another really solid Asiacoin post on the coming multipool (at least I've been working on it long enough that I hope it is).

re: my last post - the asiacoin devs did eventually get back to me. I offered my marketing/PR services and to join the dev team. Their response was they would get back to me after POW ends. I will keep you updated if anything changes.

Please share if you enjoy...

My open letter to the AsiaCoin dev team:

First off, I want to say great job so far! You've really nailed a near perfect launch and there is tons of interest in this coin. I'm very bullish long term as you can tell from my article (https://medium.com/crypto-articles/7fce4b2279c7) but the purpose of this is not to pat ourselves on the back but openly discuss the work that needs to be done to take this coin to 100K.

Before I get into that I just want to say it would be nice to receive a bounty for the work I've done already. I sent you an email via the contact form on the website 3 days ago and haven't heard back. No worries, I'm sure you are busy, but it does kinda irk me when I spend 6 hours researching and writing up a post that brings in hundreds more followers to this community only to not receive a bounty, but see you giving away 500AC to people who did jack shit. But I digress...

There is so much attention on this coin right now and whispers of a pump coming next week. Whether we hit 3, 5, or 10K - the coin will crash hard and eventually fizzle out if you don't put out a detailed roadmap with transparency. Do you want to see AsiaCoin become like 90% of the other coins out there? What we need from you:

1) A calendar of major events. For example, POW expected to end on X/X/XXX. Multipool announcement to be given on X/XX/XXXX. Anouncement about traction with asian miners to be given sometime in May. You get the idea. Even for things that aren't set in stone it's okay to put out a date range. What this does is prevent this coin from rolling back to 8-10 after a big run because old and new investors have something to put their faith in. When designing this calendar of events you need to space everything 1-2 weeks apart to give enough time for the coin to cool off and consolidate before the next run up. I can help you design this if you'd like my help.

2) An innovative multipool announcement - not just another standard MP with a stupid twist like on fluttercoin. A TRULY different MP. For example, an AUTO arbitrage function... yes that would incredible and send this thing soaring. WE NEED TO BE DIFFERENT. Right now Asiacoin has great branding, great launch, and lot of other nice things going for it. But we need to define ourselves on something solid enough that people say - "yeah they brought that to the table" and all other coins will start copying us..

3) Keep up the high level of branding - I don't know if I need to say this but please don't ever consider putting out some conspiracy theory document like the zetacoin nutjobs. It's very easy for anyone with intelligence to see that their manifesto is garbage and people are going to get shit on very soon. You have a great site, great marketing. When you announce things please make sure you continue with a high level of polish and professionalism. Again, I am offering my services to help you if needed.

4) PR is essential. We need to keep a solid stream of news up - from the number of asian miners around the world joining our cause to the new advancements you are making to the coin. Again, not to say you are going to sqrew this up, but it needs to be planned out WELL in advance so we don't have a community of people going well that kinda sucked... major selloff. Once a coin crashes hard like Fluttercoin or Blackcoin it's so much harder to climb back to the top.

I'm a director of marketing and have been doing PR for years. I offered all of these services to you through the contact form on the website and haven't heard back so I'm taking this letter to the forums in hopes that you may see it here in case your inbox is flooded.

To the community reading this - if you agree with this post please +1 it so the developer has a higher chance of seeing it. I know the moon pictures are bound to cover this up and I don't want it to be forgotten. Also, if you have other ideas for things you'd like to see improved please speak now and add to the list.

Don't think I'm trying to troll - we are doing so fantastic right now. This coin is going to jump very soon. My goal is we get this to 100 so I can quit my job and get into trading full time. This coin isn't perfect, but it's the best thing out there right now that has the possibility of reaching 100. Let's all come together to see this thing succeed.

Cheers

Hi guys,

This is my first post on bitcointalk!  Roll Eyes

I've been looking for the next *rocketship* and after a bunch of research this was my decision. I've accumulated for several days now and hold close to 500K. Anyways, I put together a very detailed post on why I believe Asiacoin is headed well past 10K.

Here's the link: https://medium.com/crypto-articles/7fce4b2279c7

Feel free to tear it apart or share. Glad to join the community.
