Good to see you still here Mr Pigeon fighting the good cause.
All the trolls were getting to me. I started off being nice to them then a got nasty so it was time to have a break.
Glad the pump has given you some returns hope you've taken some profits and not gone mad in the corner growing a long beard mumbling "ravencoin, ravencoin, ravencoin...".

Hey Bite -
Good to see you are still with the community too. From the beginning Raven has been developing differently than most coins. Still a good group here and on Discord.

Now the test, as prices come off the highs. I've been mining, trading and holding RVN. Just added a few birds to my flock, hoping to trade them out on a rebound off these prices. Time will tell.

Blackbird singing in the dead of night, Take these sunken eyes and learn to see', All your life, You were only waiting for this moment to be free. Blackbird fly, blackbird fly, Into the light of the dark black night

Im glad to see old faces from a year or so ago, my little set up still banging away what it can ,  im not shutting it down yet, a lot of great development happening from the team , prof of work
strong support is looking sweet for this project. KAWKAWW!!! Grin

I mine at a loss because I can. RVN is a hobby. I have a real job so I can afford to wait. I mined BTC for over a year at a loss in 2013. I waited. I am happy I did. I do not belong to any group. I do not take orders from any devs/miners. I mine on home PCs with decent graphics cards. If RVN collapses I can still play video games in 4K with my kids. I recognized that RVN has potential huge upside with very little downside. I bought a bag when it was over 5 cents on Cryptobridge because my hash rate is really low. I’m underwater by 74%, but that is not the point.

Sure, I’ve lost “real” money in RVN already, and I may lose it all, but I don’t care. I’m willing to risk loosing everything now (not much) for potential gain of loads more later, but to have a chance requires supporting the network now.

If everyone trades, or mines and dumps, we all lose.

I guess I’m just a real HODLER.

I would send you merit but I can't because I have no points.

I have the same thinking of you. I really like this project and my rig will not be turned off, I have 17 cards mining RVN and I will mine it even at full loss.

Like you said, RVN is a hobby. I don't live on mining. I have mined a lot since the begginning, bought on several occasions too. I never sent any RVN outside of creating assets and donating to the developpers.

hey guys , just want to ask if anybody else does not like that
the ravencoin project is being flooded with FPGA hash . I thought
that the (DEVELOPERS) of this project were all about trying to keep
the ALGO resistant to asics and FPGAs , if nobody else has not noticed
that 5.35 TH/s
 Current RVN Difficulty
73,494
or am I just out of line asking , because if we dont say or do anything about
this now , the asics will be coming next .

What makes you say there are FPGAs all over the network? Please find me a working available bitstream for x16r.

It is one of the most profitable coin to mine with Nvidia GPUs.

True, and If I could I would, but its easier said than done . nobody knows who and where all the bitsteams
come from. and now that BittWare CVP-13 FPGA s are coming to a miner near you , why wouldnt they be pointing
there power at RAVEN , Yes it is profitable, because of the strong community built around x16r , and the decentralization idea  or does
Squirrels Research Labs (SQRL) have some friends on our development team, they do seem to all be real
friendly out there in cyberspace ...just sayin we as a community better be watching , remember what happened with Monero
last winter

sorry noob here to ask, what is the fastest miner for gtx 1060 3g atm . thanks!!

Easy...
Z-ENEMY VER 1.17 (PUBLIC) From: Dk & Enemy (z-enemy)

IMPORTANT:
For maximum performance make sure you have latest drivers  (ver. 398+)
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx

Greetings, fellow miners! We're releasing an updated version of our mining software with some speed inside:

-  Major performance improvements: 5-10% for X16R & X16S, XDNA (hex), x17, Bitcore(BTX), c11, Sonoa, Renesis, Aergo
-  Lower end cards like 1050/1060 will see additional few %  (yes, a bonus)
-  The miner no longer depends on memory, it allows to run memory clock at +0 or -500 MHz without performance loss.

Happy mining!

I guess a lot of people already know this because there's talk about this on the Discord chat but I'm sure not everyone knows so let's share this here.

I write this from my memory because I was watching this when on holiday but did not take notes Smiley

The story is that a user named Vincent00 started buying Ravencoin on Crypto-Bridge over a week ago in large amounts. He first deposited 20 BTC to Crypto-Bridge and bought 10 million RVN with it at a price around 210-220. After his order was filled he deposited another 20 BTC to Crypto-Bridge and bought another 10 million RVN. And again he got his bags filled with RVN and deposited another 20 BTC and bought again 10 million RVN around these low prices.

At this time the sellers dry up and then he started to raise his price. Last monday he started buying more agressively and brought the RVN price to 300. Yesterday he continued buying agressively and bought everything up to 350 and that's where the price is right now.

At the moment of writing he has accumulated almost 60 million RVN. You can check his balance, open orders and activity at this page: http://bts.ai/u/vincent00 (edit: the previous link appears down, you can also check this pase: https://wallet.crypto-bridge.org/account/vincent00

We can only speculate why this users buys so many RVN and why he let's them stay on Crypto-Bridge instead of withdraw them to his own wallet...

And a few minutes ago he deposited another 50 BTC to Crypto-Bridge! This is not over yet.
Maybe to make on the Cryptopia listing in a few hours. He's probably someone actually from Cryptopia ready to cash in.
yeah good call , but still a great speculation, RVN is going to rise up soon , anyone selling right now , better just be doin it to pay the bills

People are trying to increase their post number so they can either sell the accounts or be involved with those airdrop like advertising campaigns for new coins..

Ah... thanks for explaining that. I was wondering about it, myself.

There are some interesting comments by Kristy-Leigh Minehan (OhGodAGirl) on this youtube interview about ASIC resistance where she uses RVN as an example. Jump to 12:45 where she starts with "No Proof of Work is safe."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3i3jpJqgoo

Particularly at 14:47, "There is no such thing as ASIC resistance."

There are already some people mining rvn with FPGA boards. They are not static hardware like asic, and they can change the algo if the pow algo changes. But they are expensive hardware. I hope pow algo devs can find a way to overcome this.

Hopfully in time we will all have a gpu like an asic or FPGA so we can stay decentralized , making it easy for anybody to mine in the future, prof of work is here to stay trusted, tested and trued

Ravenminer.com is on some shady shit. Beware.

http://www.ravenminer.com/?address=RTam4qSTrdWgYRSEdXKdV5Ekjq8qDB5EwN

I had nearly 38 coins in my account before the payout but they only sent me 26. No trace of 12 ravens.

See the line going down from 38 to 26 and then 0 but only 1 transaction?

This needs an explanation.

Maybe was orfan?

Probably yes. I checked the blocks history and the pool seem to had a lot of orphans around the time you sow this fall and many hours before that. This however doesn't seem to be an issue with the network but with their pool, my pool had just 1 orphan in this period.
yeah I also am having problems with www.ravenminer.com the page stats for my miner are not matching payments received ,
and missing payments, for the last 4 or 5 hrs , seems like they are having some issues, I have been hoping they would get it together
since the (Hack) and I took the loss like everyone else, I see on discord other Miners are having problems too,

they haven't told us the amount yet, check on our pool discords
yeah it sucks being stolen from, but maybe they can trace the wallet somehow
and get the bastards who did it later, all we can hope for is they
can fix the weak link so it dosen't happen again too soon

⭐ Merited by vapourminer (1)
ALL RAVEN MINING POOLS WERE HACKED LAST NIGHT
 QUote from ravenminer discord:
There was a wide-scale hack on RVN pool wallets. This has affected many Ravencoin pools. Some of your pending balance on Ravenminer and other pools are now in the possession of the Hacker(s). It's best to assume they are irretreivable (gone for good). Any details beyond this are probably just guesswork

These are the current most repeated questions questions and answers.
Who dunnit?- Yet to be determined
Where's my RVN?- Stolen, things that are stolen are no longer yours.
ravenminer.com should pay me back!- You have been earning more than you should because there is no pool fee here. If you picked another pool at random you would likely still be at a loss.
Should I continue to mine with this pool?- That's your decision. Right now the pool is working. @birdman has quickly applied a temporary fix until the nature of the attack can be determined. It's advisable to set failover pool(s) so you can continue to mine in case this pool has to go down for a time.
Russians! Yes, that's a term for people from a specific a country, good job.
Yeah but when will i get my coins? I havent gotten a payout in x hours!- From this point your earnings are safe. Any balance before that was pending is likely gone for good

Look folks, as soon as concrete answers are available it will be blasted through all the channels you guys use. You won't have a choice but to hear about it. Go to the park or talk to a stranger. Learn how to knit, whatever. Asking the same questions over and over won't help anything, in fact it will only DELAY solutions

where is virtopia based out of? US?

I'll throw my rig at it

Virtopia's main server is in Amsterdam.
But they have edge nodes in USA though (anycast).

Direct ping from Chicago (where I am) is 46. Which I'm very happy with. Enemy 1.10 shows 155 (which is still ok), but that is a weird/misleading report due to the situation with the software and the anycast server. But try directly pining the site from the command prompt.

-o stratum+tcp://rvn.virtopia.ca:3333

I really like that Charlie set up this new stratum to be optimized for finding blocks, the back end is tweaked to preform. So far, he's done a great job. And if you want other stats on the pool's website, he was just asking on Discord what people wanted as far as feed back reporting . He's a responsive guy, easy to reach and fast to respond.

Yesterday, the Raven Calculator estimated that I should earn 1510RVN. Maybe it was just a lucky day, but I actually earned 2343RVN. That's 55% above estimate. And today I'm already at the estimated amount. So... It's going really well at Virtopia.

isn't ravencalc.xyz based on the "bare" ccminer? it's no wonder vs enemy miner you're getting better payout, right?

I calculate on hash rate, so the miner isn't a factor. I have an higher average hash rate with Enemy 1.10 than CC 2.2.5. So I use 305 MH/s, on What to Mine it's 1480 on Ravencalc.xyz its 1755 - personally I find Whattomine closer than Ravencalc. But either way, I'm doing considerable better than the estimates on Virtopia.

Plus we just hit another block, that makes my payouts way over the estimates again for today. Just saying... come join the fun.
Im sending my hash over Virtopia way , sounds like like their having a BLOCK PARTY over there, hehe

Concerning FPGA's Will it be ridiculously expensive to use?  I'm understanding that you need an ASIC for each algo (16 different ASICs) and then the FPGA to control them.  Only one ASIC would be used at a time wasting 15 other ASICs.

Hopefully nobody's stupid enough to try such thing. I don't even need to mention that using them separately would be more profitable and even if someone does it, devs will just make a modification on the algo and ruin his whole setup so It won't be an issue as far as I see.
you guys are wrong   you need 2 fpga as only  geting 500mh   .fpga are alot more flexable than asic. take this new asic fpga/asic machine it can mine 10 difrent algos  . http://pascalproject.com/features.html  to bed  this stuff will kill gpu mineing  .

haha, trying to scare ravencoiners with your magic Bricks wont work on this thread , go pedal asic snake oil on another project
