any idea where pool.gridcoin.us went?  i had mined a bunch of coins on there, but it's been unreachable for about 2 days now.

Gotta question about pool mining, hopefully I'm in the right thread.

I'm connected to http://pool.gridcoin.us, and everything is working swimmingly.  I even found a block.

But I am completely mystified about how the ranking of the leaderboard works, and how payouts are calculated.  The pool site is pretty bare-bones, so I couldn't find any kind of help or docs on there.

The column labeled "Boinc RAC" only appears to show the first few digits of my actual RAC.  For example, if my average daily credits show in the wallet as 210,000, this column shows it only as "2100"  (is that just a display bug, or are position and payouts being calculated only on the first 4 digits of my actual RAC?)

And are there really only 18 miners using that pool? (as of the time of this post)  I would've expected a lot more people to be mining in the pool.

rename it to MyLittleCoiny, and I'm in.

oh, and putting Pinkie Pie on the coin with her goofiest expression would be for extra points.

but yeah, in reality, Hasbro will probably be all frowny-face on this one.

seriously, an honest ETA on Windows wallet would be appreciated.  some of us have rather expensive VPS sitting here, eating money waiting to mine this thing.

thanks!

so...in regards to Windows clients/miners, a few questions:

first, I was around last night for the epic failure of a launch of duckduckcoin.  the Windows wallet wasn't even released until about 6 hours after the initial launch, and meanwhile people were pool mining, so by the time I got to use it, solo mining was pointless.

so...first, will the Windows executables be ready for launch of riecoin, or should I just plan on compiling my own on Linux?  I am happy to begin mining from the beginning, even without reward, but I really don't want to spend time trying to compile Windows binaries (I'm using VPS, which are all Windows, so yes, kinda stuck with that.)

second, will the wallet have the miner built into it, like most of other wallets?  in other words, can I simply do a "setgenerate true -1", and be off and running?  (I'm not savvy enough with using command-line minerd, etc., and would prefer to just let the wallet launch the miner for me.)

third, if the wallet has a built-in miner, is that in *any* way different than the separate miner executable?  (slower, worse?)

thanks for answering my newbie questions!  can't wait for launch!
