A lot of good ones, but most of them were when I was young in high school for some reason.
Its probably because the first time experiencing an event is more visceral and powerful than other times.
Like the first time I got drunk w my friends who were girls and hormones were rushing Wink.
Or the first kiss/moment obv

Re: The moon needs 20mb

Think about it.

If you were a large institutional investor, say a hedge-fund manager, you would probably pay an analyst to, well, analyze bitcoin. I'm sure one of the punch list items that needed fixed PRIOR to investing would be the scalability issue.

Ergo, bitcoin needs to be seen as to be able to scale properly.

Maybe the CIA/CFR told Gavin that he needed to get bitcoin fixed up ASAP and ready for the near future as they are just itching to crash the global economy and institute their NWO.

Want Bitcoin to go to the moon? , well then these big hedgefund guys need to feel safe about the scaling.

You've got a point there but tell you something:

These people would benefit more from an independant bitcoin that's mainly defensible with 1MB blocks. They could launch their merged mined chains where they make the rules and would be almost as secure as long as btc is defensible. They are probably already doing exactly that. But from their point of view 20MB blocks also don't benefit them when it makes the whole thing open for attacks and exploits and also stresses out the whole community and causes rebellion against their puppets in the devteam.

If i was them i'd just go ahead with merged mined coins. Higher tps can be had on merged chains too. Really this whole circus makes no sense, not even from the standpoint of a powerelite.

Re: [ANN] NeuCoin - Easy to use, free to try, focused on micropayments - Official

I am considering if it's worthwhile investment but when reading the T&C's I noticed it mentions 2.9 billion neucoins will exist with only 0.1 billion being up for grabs in this fund raising escapade.

Have I really read this correctly?  I mean this is essentially saying 'invest 1 BTC now and it will be diluted to less than ~4% of it's value' almost immediately.

Are these reserved billion neucoins used for mining payouts or something else that I'm missing?  Why wouldn't someone just buy these coins later when they are worth a fraction of their value in future?

Anyone care to share their transaction ID of > 10BTC they've made to this for some reassurance the reported investment is really happening as they'd be needing large investments like this for those numbers to be accurate.

The fact you have to invest with bitcoin also makes me think, 'why do we need Neucoin, why not use Bitcoin?' if Bitcoin is the only trusted payment system allowed.

Sorry to sound suspicious and I really like they're being open with their numbers but something isn't adding up and perhaps it's merely me not understanding their PoS strategy?

You've been reading correctly and also your math is correct. Neucoin is likely after a few months only fraction of IPO price. Why anyone would buy the ipo is beyond me aswell. Don't waste your time. The Neucoin team doesn't answer questions directly. All they have is their list of names on which you are supposed to go off. If you aren't impressed by the names and are actually crunching the numbers and trying to do DD you and your questions will be ignored. If you keep asking the club of fanboys is going to come out and call you names and cry FUD. Same shit, different day and coin  Roll Eyes

Why do people in the altcoin community take their investments so personally? If someone goes to the ANN thread of almost any coin and asks an honest question that may not make the coin look good, people become hostile. If they go to that thread and express an opposing opinion, they are treated like the Devil himself.

I've never seen such nonsense with any other investment. Most GM stock holders couldn't care less whether I like GM or not. So why are so many altcoin investors so childlike in that regard? What do you think?

Have you been to speculation section? Have you tried to be bearish for bitcoin there? Same story. The bitcoin bear is the devil. (lol) It's not only alts, it's every coin including bitcoin.

OP, do you have any evidence or you just want to share your paranoia, negative gut feeling and general pessimism?

I think this is 'normal' tradeaction especially because people mentioned about an hour earlier on the trollbox something like
a: "should we pump ppc? It's easy to pump"
b: "or pump bitcoin 10%"

so i would say it's all "normal"

I think we can expect BTC-e to slowly go back to its place in relation to the other exchanges (a few dollars below). Maybe this whole thing repeats later again because i think someone could have made profit with that action if he was smart. In case this was lucrative we'll see it again.

I think, someone with much money AND much BTC wanted the BTC price to rise. So how he can try this without paying too much? Right, try to pump the price on a trusted exchange with the lowest volume, BTC-E
and people comes with btc that have been bought from other exchanges then price falls, not a good finance strategy with one of the most arbitrageable thing on this universe.

to be fair : the other exchanges followed and price is now several dollars up. I think it was quite a good idea to pump btc-e in the bigger picture. We should maybe all start buying on btc-e to get a little bullrun started? Orderbook is very thin and other exchanges follow. Makes sense to me. Also in case the pumper had 20x on margin long on okcoin or was trading on margin long position he could have made a handsome amount of money.

I wasn't around at that time but you can always buy or sell large amounts. Wether you move the market with your trade is an entirely different story. Also: you can get rich from trading without the need of it going to the moon btw. Just learn to trade and get rich off your own skills which, once aquired, can be used in other markets too.

This is the speculation forum so lets speculate.

When the next big crash happens like the 2008 crash people will realize how much the current system is broken. They will go to bitcoin. 100 satoshi = 1$ by the year 2018.

Sorry to disappoint you but people will go 1st to the broker to open a shortposition on stocks and currency and second they will go see their bullion dealer BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT THEY KNOW. Not many will buy BTC in a crisis, most will run to gold.

Funny how that infrastructure is built, hyped and then disassembled and packed up again. Of course all this comes from bad bear market which in turn comes from high inflation supply of coins to which none of these nutjobs around here would admit. Bitcoin could have been a raging success ... if they only would have gotten the supply right.... (!)

Too much cocaine and crack same as TBF.
Can't even keep a website running for a year or two with nearly 2 million $$$. These have shown to be miserable business-people. Just stay away from those involved in this debacle in the future.

I doubt this scenario but having a lasting uptrend would be really nice for a change.

doesn't happen. Bitcoin only rises for 14 days every 20 months and that's it. "Lasting uptrends" don't happen here.
