Let me see if this clears this up...

My github provides my version of the source code to mine vnl using a ztex board...no bitstream...just source code.  That has been available since I got it running for myself.

The official site will have the final bitstream / miner, etc.  I don't provide those...I just provide the source code.

So traumschiff was correct in his statements.

Incidentally, I was able to generate a bitstream from cryptoflyr's source on github but try as I might I can't get it to work.  I suspect I'm not doing it right since it's totally out of my sphere of technical expertise.

Then you need to go to the IRC and ask questions.

I've always thought this is an excellent coin, one with integrity and ingenuity, at one point a few weeks ago I had 25k and seriously regret letting it go in drabs and drabs on the way up taking profit.

However, personally, I'm starting to lose the faith a bit.  It seems a little too convenient that VNL is going through a period of rapid rise and continued ATH breaking right at the time there is ongoing testing with an "experimental" FPGA bitstream which is only available to the inner sanctum.

It's fair enough, the guys who put together the bitstream worked hard on it and should reap some reward for their effort but it's really frustrating to be sat on 5 idle FPGA's and missing the party.  I think in the long run this will harm the coin, people will complain about the distribution during this phase which is in stark contrast to the early history of the coin and JC going out of his way to ensure fair distribution, and not without controversy.

I have no idea what you are talking about.  All the FPGA code has been posted to my github for several days now for any FPGA developer to build their own bitstream.

So send .1 VNL to yourself repeatedly and increase your stake bounty...? Or will that just split the stake into smaller pieces holistically?

It won't increase the amount of your stake, it will increase the frequency.  The amount of your stake is based on the amount of the txn being staked...you won't get much (if anything) for a .1 VNL txn.

So if you have 100K VNL...if you have a single 100K txn, over time it would stake the same amount as 100, 1K txns...it would just take longer between stakes.  In the end, you still just have 100K staking.

If your wallet is encrypted, make sure it is unlocked or you won't stake.  When I first setup my wallet, I didn't seem to stake much at first either, but now I get 2 to 6 stakes per day.

The stake is also based on each individual transaction.  So if you only have one transaction to your wallet, that is the only one that can stake and it will take a while.  I have a bunch of small txns, and they each stake at their own interval.

I believe the coin age for staking is 8 hours.
