Re: What factors scare others from investing into bitcoin?
by
cryptomato
on 24/07/2018, 10:18:53 UTC
One of the factors is the fear of losing money since cryptocurrency price are not stable and most still fear the ban by their countries since government has not officially declared it legal.
Most people are not willing to invest into bitcoins for just one reason only and that is because they dont know a single thing about the whole issue with how buying something that is not tangible going to make them a lot of money.

I actually believe that most of the people who cannot invest even though they have money to invest are afraid because they are coming from financially conservative mindset which stops them investing cryptocurrencies.

pretty much cheap one, only $90 millions. It is  hard to find such a good project that is below $ 1B anymore. A 10-bagger is expected. Have a look at their visions and growth prospects!

I've seen this name on bitcointalk posts today and checked the project. I also couldn't see anything promising or anything different than other similar projects. I agree that they do a good marketing but that seems all.

Re: Polymath Airdrop Updates

they want a photo of your passport, will never send that...
did a couple kyc's with my driver's license, it's crazy that they're asking for passports..

driver's licence or other government ID is fine.

token.polymath.network

I also verified kyc with my driver license, it said that was confirmed. I'm curious when they will send the airdrop tokens. Do you guys have any idea?
Usually I don't get so excited for airdrop tokens but I somehow expect that polymath tokens might become valuable super fast.

Re: Money for school fees. Invested in bitcoin.
by

on 27/01/2018, 18:38:57 UTC
I dont think that is a good idea because risking your money that you planned to pay for your tuition fee is a totally a mistakes. You should keep on mind what is your prioritize. You join bitcoin because you wanr to earn monet but use it a good way and dont risk your money that yiu cant afford to lose.

Very well said! You cannot risk your education in investing. That would be very bad mistake. I've seen that many people are suggesting the same thing, don't do it. Invest only when you have some extra money for investing. You cannot use money for your basic needs in investing, of course I'm including education in the basic needs!

Re: Merit, reassessment
by

on 27/01/2018, 18:35:20 UTC
I have not figured out how it works yet. You can, for example, ask your friend, a friend, to make an assessment? And so we will raise each other's ratings?

yes but If your friend gives to you merit and then you give him back then it's not allowed by the rules and you can get a red trust
approximately with such an explanation "merit was sent literally minutes apart"

Most of the people doesn't understand why the new merit system has been implemented. They just think selfishly that their membership level will not increase easily anymore. We should focus on different side. It will bring overall quality to the posts eventually was needed for long time because of those scmamers who does unnecessary posts just to make point in the bounty campaigns that they participated.

Re: Are you worried?

Since the market is going down and down are you worried about your Bitcoin? I saw someone asking what to do with his/her bitcoin? S/he has 12 bitcoin. What are you doing with your bitcoin?

First ot all it is not bitcoin thread,we talking about altcoins, second thing is if you have bought some crypto and the market going red, never sell with a loss, you have to wait, maybe a few days or weeks,or even months.I lost a lot of money doing such sales Sad

I did the same mistakes again and again. Whenever I've seen there is a fall, I cashed out and lost a lot of money. I promised myself very strictly that whatever happens in the market I'll now sell it. Even if I lose all my portfolio.

Re: Bitcoin expense problem

Thanks for the welcome, you were the first to welcome me.
I also thank you for your advice and your directions.
In this regard, if it is a chance to make money over time, why retail traders do not start to adopt Bitcoin? What blocks them? Is it a lack of trust and security towards the Bitcoin itself?

Unfortunately the problem is more complex than that. This is true that media throughout the world try to discredit bitcoin as having no official government support, but to the people well informed it would be just FUD. So lack of trust is not the reason behind low acceptance.

The problem is that the fees for spending Bitcoin are very high. You will buy a coffee for 2$ and spend 20-30$ on fees. Some merchants and services (Steam is the most notable) that previously accepted bitcoin - stopped doing it. I have read in some other thread by German user, that Berlin was full of places that accepted bitcoin and it is no longer the case now.

The only hope is the Lightning Network, which may create channels to spend bitcoin with no fee. How this will play out - we shall see in the future

It is way more complex than that. When transaction time and transaction fee are increasing day by day I'm afraid it is effecting bitcoin's future in negative way. The reason for last fall is not this of course but it is one of the factor.

Re: Long term vs. Short term

How are you handling your portfolio? How much are risking in % of your portfolio in short term gain vs. Long term gain?

Before I deciding for long term or short term, I research first every coin I have. If I have coin that is quality and have many project for the future, and the team is very active. I'm holding it, but there are some coin that is not good for me, so that is for short term.

I do both long term and short term trading because both of them brings you profits in different way. I have different coins in my short term and long term trading portfolios. so you don't have to choose just one way.

Re: Why people sell bitcoins?
by
cryptomato
on 25/01/2018, 09:45:09 UTC
Well ideally bitcoin is a means of investment, but if you really need the money for whatever reason, you have to sell the coins to get some sort of fiat currency back.

True,  having a bitcoin is a form of investment  but when time comes that we really need a cash with us, we have to sell our bitcoin. But if your are rich and doesn't need a lot of money  or you have an extra cash with you, bitcoin can give us a good investment if we hold it for a long time.

In my opinion there are two main reason for selling. One of them which is quite happening is panic selling as most of you know. When bitcoin holder sees that prices are going down sharply, he or she get scare and start selling with the herd. Second reason is the need for cash.

Could anyone tell me whether the signature bounty campaign is still going on?  Or did it finish last night? Does it make sense to go on posting?  Thank you guys:)

Bounty manager.

Update is expected please. ICO is still going on probably till Tuesday. Should we continue for Signature Campaign till the ICO ends or bounty is already over?
