I do not believe in anything like that. many experts say if the year 2018 bitcoin prices will be very high, but until now there is no sign if the price of bitcoin will rise.

Bitcoin needs just 10 good days in a year to reach 20k... REMEMBER THIS : )

Future seems bright Smiley

haha

You can for sure plan your retirement with bitcoin and cryptos... I read an article somewhere long back that a man made 21 millions in btc ; cashed out 20 million for his retirement and kept playing crypto game with 1 million

Could be an effective strategy / goal ?

I am not sure if I am putting this in the right section.

Anyway, what are some of your guys biggest bitcoin losses?  Did many people here loss everything with Mtcox?  For me it is online casinos.  I do have a moderate gambling habit so it was bound to happen.  Cry

I almost lost money always in casinos... both online btc casinos as well as real casinos... i wonder if their random numbers are genuine

Re: I almost lost my rock solid regular job because of crypto
by
cryptomoon1003
on 05/06/2018, 07:07:30 UTC
Like the title says, i almost lost my regular job as a software developer today when my boss reviewed my work. The job has been able to economically provide a comfortable life for me and losing it would really be a big hit to my income. I almost lost it because i spent so much time learning about everything crypto (mining, trading, bounties, etc.).

Has anyone else experienced this? I just feel pretty lucky I was given another chance and want to remind other people that having a regular job is much better than relying on the volatility of cryptocurrencies. Make sure you prioritize your work!

I had similar experience when I was issued a performance issue letter last month, and seeing the btc price anyways sinking - i was matured enough to put hard work back to regular job to save my job...

Am I smart ? Am i dumb to be working hard to save my regular job ? I dont know... Time will tell

It may very well be true.. increase would come as a result of growing adoption of ETH as well as the use of smart contracts.

Re: ETH or Waves?
by
cryptomoon1003
on 13/05/2018, 01:34:38 UTC
Waves is just the opposite to ETH probably. What they do is develop Bitcoin scripting, do everything using contracts, it’s very fundamental but makes certain things very complicated. Waves took another road, where things are simpler, very easy to add all functionality you need using plug-ins, don’t have to code complicated contracts. Also waves focus is on mass adoption, specifically target two markets : fiat transfers on blockchain and crowdfunding on blockchain. They are very ripe for disruption, and waves will be offering a product for a very general audience, basically the main end-user client is just a plugin you can install from Chrome or FF store.

Re: EOS - Asynchronous Smart Contract Platform - (Dan Larimer of Bitshares/Steem)
by
cryptomoon1003
on 13/05/2018, 01:32:34 UTC
Dan was the creator of BitShares, STEEM (+ The SteemIt platform) and BitUSD three projects with a combined market cap of $886M and he is now the CTO of the company block.one who is building the EOS platform.

So what exactly is EOS? In their own words EOS “is software that introduces a blockchain architecture designed to enable vertical and horizontal scaling of decentralized applications.”

What does that mean?
Right now, there are hundreds of major companies, banks and governments looking to build enterprise level applications on the blockchain, and leverage the smart-contract technology of Ether.

The problem is, as we’ve seen with the rise of ICOs this season, these technologies don’t scale well. The goal is to change that by creating a system designed for enterprise level adoption, that allows large corporations to build DAPPS (Decentralized Applications).

Re: market refresh or just a pump ?

Consensys is starting in 2 days... I think it will remain green now- for this week and for the rest of the month.. The 3-day Consensus event of 2018 is coming on May 14 to discuss everything about blockchain and cryptocurrency.

Retrospecting the effect of last year’s Consensus event, it certainly had a huge influence on the cryptocurrency market. The event of 2017 resulted in the gain of 26 percent in the total market cap in comparison to 2016’s small 2.7 percent. On the evening of the event, the bitcoin price surged to $2,000 and triggered the bull run of June.

Over the years, the event has become bigger as people realize the potential of crypto markets. From 2016’s 1,500 to 2017’s 2,700 attendees, this year the event is going to be much bigger with 4,500 attendees.

With 250+ speakers and
4,500 attendees willing to come together, the event has plausibility to bring trust and a bullish trend in the crypto market space. As the 2017’s Consensus event triggered a bullish trend in cryptocurrency, this event is going to bring positive sentiments to the market.

There seems to be no denying that governments can ban cryptocurrencies. Bolivia, Ecuador, Kyrgyzstan, and Bangladesh have already done so. Russia issued a draft bill to ban cryptocurrencies in October 2014 and recent rumors suggest it might follow through.
