Followed all instructions on the XMR-stak github to compile.  This is the new Monero7 fork fix.  *edit* 4/6/18 4:05PM PST  Mining fine.  Fork-compatibility assured.

Can you please update and reshare using latest release? There was an update a few hours back. Thanks for the great work, bro.

bro, can you please share your vega 64 softtable registry settings? or if it's easier, just a screenshot of your overdriventool? thanks!

Changes for me:

GTX 1070s went from ~630 H/s to ~660 H/s (memory oc'd to 4 GHz; core @ 1.9 GHz)
RX 570s went from ~700 H/s to ~575 H/s (BIOS timing mod; memory oc'd to 2.4 GHz; core uc'd to 1.1 GHz)
Rig using 900W total compared to previous 1100W
Using xmr-stak (latest) w/ Ubuntu 16.0.3

What's your 1070 settings?

Anyone else with 1070s, can you please share optimal settings. Thanks!

Is there Light wallet for Sumokoin? I don't have enough space on my SSD and whole wallet is installing everything on my SSD-C: drive.
Why I can't choose installation directory?

This has been covered earlier in this thread. There is a way to customize install location. Also, the light wallet release is being tested now (they're late because of the fork which was a much higher priority and unplanned).

Newb post here: The new hardfork will fix the issue that is allowing for the network attacks?

Sumo is on the few coins I mine (all cryptonight) and I have not found a clear answer. Will a dev be able to give me a answer so I am sure?

There's no network attack. The network is overloaded with ASICs, but that should be solved when the fork occurs later today/tomorrow.

Is that you, visdude?

Tell me, what will happen to those coins which are on the local wallet ?

I just updated to the latest wallet v0.3. No issues, sync'd super-fast. Yet another worthy upgrade that needs more marketing, but the drama with the fork has thrown us off for now.

Was the network halted??? It seems like the block count hasn't moved since I last checked it....

I think we are doing fine. Should hit the fork tomorrow at the current rate...

So glad devs moved so swiftly to fork and love SUMO's vardiff algo. Electroneum is experiencing a 51% attack, some claiming it's Bitmain.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Electroneum/comments/88wbkv/electroneum_is_probably_under_a_51_attack_right/

Good thing we didn't wait to seek visdude's approval to fork.  Grin

There is no 51% attack on Electroneum, there is nothing in the artical that says there is an attack, just someone stirring up some s**t.
The one thing that is worrying about Electroneum is that they have not, as far as I know, made any announcment as to how they will, or will not, counter the ASIC problem.

Sure not a problem...

Fork Block Height set at 117600 (on abt April 4th). Binaries will be released soon. Following the fork the light Qt GUI wallet will be released featuring remote node connection ability (it is ready for release). Web wallet is expected to be released soon as well.

Let me just say this: this is fucking awesome. Love the agility of the core team to prevent drama and "just do it." Keep up the good work.

Cryptonight-Heavy, Sumokoin's ASIC/FPGA resistant PoW, design analysis.
Differences between Cryptonight-Heavy and xmr's cryptonight v7 tweak.

https://github.com/curie-kief/cryptonote-heavy-design

Already updated to latest xmr-stak. Haven't discovered any supporting data related to recommended configs (good starting point settings). Can you make more info available since we don't have access to a testnet? Thanks and keep up the good work.

UPDATES ON THE UPCOMING FORK
Some updates on the upcoming pow change fork: Its not a minor tweak on cryptonight, its an effort to create a modified asic resistant cryptonight pow without having to fork periodically. We believe that this has been accomplished. The fork's exact blockheight has not been decided yet but it will be within the next couple of weeks as the code must first be thoroughly checked. Base code for the pow change has already been merged on github https://github.com/sumoprojects/sumokoin/pull/95. A full, comprehensive, writeup explaining the changes implemented will be posted on github before the fork. There is a change on cpu/gpu produced hashrate ratio benchmarks in favor of GPUs, this is a result of the tweak which might eventually prove useful in limiting botnet mining on our network. GPU code is almost finished and being tested while a patched xmr-stak for sumo mining with the new algo will be released, by stak's developers, before the fork. Users need not withdraw their coins from the exchanges. For coins stored on local wallets, users will have to download the updated binaries and/or the updated gui wallet and restore their wallet. Finally the light/multisig wallet release might delay a few days (it was expected by the end of March) due to this fork. Thank you!

Great update. Love the break-away from Monero. Looking forward to all the changes, including updating my miners and wallet. Let us all know if you guys need help with testing.

Hash Rate: 87.40 MH/sec
Block Found: about an hour ago
Difficulty: 20976713042
Seriously?! Is this the result of some Cryptonight ASIC miners playing with Sumo?

Surely is. Devs need to golive with the fork ASAP. The ASICs have been switching between all Cryptonight coins.

I'd also like to point out this: some naive (or smart, depending on your perspective) people seem to look at the history of coins like LTC and think ASICs will help you become a millionaire. To contrast this view, consider the effects companies like Baikal and Bitmain have by selling hundreds of thousands of mineable coins before they make even bigger profits by selling used hardware. And then causing fork-related drama once a coin has been centralized by their hardware (BCH, Siacoin). Imagine how much selling pressure these guys have been putting on the market as a whole in the last few months.

Being ASIC-resistant is a good thing. Any new algo that can detect ASICs before they hit their networks, is getting my GPUs. And I hope the SUMO team actually implements logic to favor GPUs over CPUs since such logic at the algo level will surely ensure long term success.

Just my two cents FWIW.

So, there wont be an open discussion about embrace or not ASIC's by community?

So you think we should embrace ASICs?
Give me a good reason and I ll give you ten bad ones
My opinion is irrelevant, im talking about sumokoin community; since youre changing algo mining youre automatically creating a new altcoin.

I'd agree with you if this were 2011. Forking to combat ASICs is the new normal. As is, Baikal and Bitmain have probably been mining via ASICs for a couple of months, if not longer. No need to waste another month to acquire consensus around a fork and cause more drama.

I'd like for the devs to consider differentiating themselves from Monero with this opportunity. Don't use the same logic XMR team is using to fork away, maybe provide a little bit extra to really show how good the team is. If the team simply copies XMR, we'll continue to experience more FUD.

Regardless, it is great to see the team is ready to combat ASICs. I was almost considering switching my Vegas to another algo.

SUMO is over and slowly dying, I don't think that SUMO will ever be relevant again. Fact is that SUMO has nothing new to offer, just because their dev team is so small. SUMO literally doesn't do anything new, they just add some "extra" features, cmon

Just my opinion.

Such an insightful post. Opinions aside, share some actual facts that led you to forming such an opinion, bruv. A small team that has thus far delivered all their goals/promises on time. Their big test will be releasing the bulletproofs functionality on time, but until then, patience is key (assuming you're just bitter about the price slump and nothing else).
