Escrow is Back Online Along with New Updates
by
cryptothrift
on 10/12/2014, 02:45:12 UTC

Firstly we wanted to thank you all for your patience over the last couple of months. We know that the site and our service has suffered without escrow enabled, but that is about to change. Effective immediately our escrow service has been re-enabled and is available on all new purchases.

We feel we have to apologize for taking so long to turn it back on. There were a series of personal circumstances with our developer that meant he just wasn’t available to fix the security hole that lead to our breach back in September. However, this has now been found, fixed, and thoroughly tested.

We hope to return to the great level of customer service that you came to expect from us. As a thank-you to our customers our escrow service will be FREE on all purchases made for the rest of 2014.

Other important updates are:

  • Sold and Won items pages are now showing 90 days activity only.
  • Feedback page is showing feedbacks to be awarded and to be expected for items sold or bought withint the last 60 days.
  • Awaiting Payments and Outstading Payments pages are now showing items that can still be paid (haven't went over the 48 hours allowed payment period).
  • Email and Display name can now be changed in the Profile Settings page.
  • Messages can be replied to without having to open the message.

Features to expect:

  • Affiliates system is close to being released publicly.
  • Enhanced shipping system with shipping calculator and different shipping prices for international countries.
  • Messaged system to become threaded.
  • Featured Items.

Should you have anything else you would like to see on the site, please feel free to email us.

Merry Christmas!

[ANN] New Look, New Coins - cryptothrift.com
by
cryptothrift
on 14/02/2014, 11:10:33 UTC
We're glad to be announcing our new look, our added features and of course our new accepted coins at cryptothrift.

As we promised, we're in constant development to improve our services and give the crypto community (whether Bitcoin or Altcoins) a safe home to buy, sell and auctions items using cryptocurrency only.

We have improved the look and feel of the site and added new features like automatic refund requests, automatic refunds when a seller cancels an item, automatic escrow release when a buyer requests for funds to be released and much more. Check our new layout and let us know what you think

We've added 3 more coins to our site: Worldcoin, Mincoin and Maxcoin on top of our already supported coins (Bitcoin, Litecoin, Feathercoin and Primecoin). We will be adding new coins at a later stage once more features have been developed.

Our most exciting part is our customer service feedback and stats. Although we've been under the hammer with the development side of things, but we are doing great in terms of customer service and satisfaction. We have 94% satisfaction rate and less than 14.3 hours response time with 59% of cases getting responses within the first 8 hours. Full stats Here

If you have tried cryptothrift and would like to leave us some feedback, please feel free to do so. We would also love if you could give us a thumb up on SpendBitcoins.

If you haven't tried us yet, please feel free to do so and leave us some feedback with your experience and what features you would like to see in the near future.

Re: [Poll] Which Coin to be Added to cryptothrift.com?

Add Freicoin (FRC).  And Datacoin (DTC).

Why don't you work with CoinPayments?  Or just support the same coins.

https://www.coinpayments.net/index.php?cmd=home

You should support the coins that are on the big exchanges (Vircurex, BTC-e, Cryptsy, Bter etc.).  And the ones that have payment processors like CoinPayments.

Working with coin payments would be a great pleasure, but that would have a great impact on our very low fees of 1.5% or transaction fees (whichever is higher).

By processing and hosting our own payment systems we can work with very little fee and be 100% responsible of the security, maintenance and up time of the system which has been (0 coins loss and 100% up time for the life of the site) Smiley

Old coins communities have either given up on the coins or are satisfied with the current state Smiley

I already voted for other before you added EAC!

would have voted EAC if I had the chance.

As you added some coins after the start of the vote please consder to give people the opportunity to change their vote.

Thank you. Wink

When we first posted the poll, we had a choice to give the users a chance to edit their votes. But now that the poll is active, there's no way to give that option anymore. It would have made life a whole lot easier if we could do that.

Lesson learned for next time Smiley

add EAC in the vote.

it influences people's decisions if you leave such a major coin out and have some no names like digitalcoin or mincoin in the list

That's been added, we will be taking votes in the comment into consideration too.

Re: Man Selling a Cabin in Norway and everything he owns for Bitcoins

Gotta love the guy's all in commitment to the movement. Pretty ballsy in my opinion. In terms of where are at now, that is like converting your entire networth into mortgage backed securities

Could be true.

People who made what was thought to be a crazy decision selling stuff for Bitcoin this time last year don't regret it a bit. Same goes to those who dedicated tens of thousands of dollars towards the ASIC projects when they where still on pen and paper. They were definitely worth the gamble.

Man Selling a Cabin in Norway and everything he owns for Bitcoins

Bitcoin did go crazy in 2013, awesomely crazy... and so did we. Some of us sold cars, collectibles, jewellery and inheritances to ride the Bitcoin train, but this man is selling everything, yes, EVERYTHING he owns for Bitcoin.

Here's what he's got "Cabin in norway 30 min from stavanger and everything i own":

Hi im going to sell my cabin and almost everything I own.
Is a nice property in the woods 5 min drive to a store for shopping.
30min from stavanger sentrum with car or boat.
The property is 2000m2 with a main cabin 40m2 and annex 15m2 and 2 smaller sheds 7 and 5m2.
The cabin are livable all year around, has rain water for shower and sinks, fireplace and a heat pump for heating. Electric burning toilet.. You can probably build a house there in a couple off years.

My car is a opel astra 2001 model fully functional.
Want to sell my tv, active speakers, tools for gardening, tools for handiwork, even my clothes if you so wishes to Smiley.
.
I will come with pictures maybe a movie on youtube so its possible to see the property.
Selling everything for around 530btc or highest bidder
contact if interested norwegia......@gmail.com

Is he doing it right? Is he even doing it? In a Bitcoin market everything it skeptic-able , yet everything is possible.

[Poll] Which Coin to be Added to cryptothrift.com?
by
cryptothrift
on 23/01/2014, 10:55:33 UTC
We'd like the community's help to determine which coin is most supported and used by the community so we can add it to cryptothrift. For those who don't know or never visited cryptothrift, we're an auction site and marketplace for Bitcoin, Litecoin, Primecoin and Feathercoin, we also have an automated escrow service.

Your vote will help determine the next coin(s) to be added on cryptothrift, so please give it your best shot.

If you select other, please leave a comment with your preferred coin so we can look into market value and users.

For those who would like to support us and spread the word about the crypto marketplace, please add us to your signature.

Added Earthcoin EAC to the poll

Hello people,

I'm in need of an old timer, highly verified and proven escrow agent for a an upcoming project ASAP.

Please PM me or post here so we can have a chat and I can show you what it would entail.

(John K, if you see this please send me a PM. I've msged you but you're probably busy or swarmed with stuff)

Thanks !

If you're buying services, goods or coins, you're welcome to ask the seller to list the item on cryptothrift, we only charge 1% escrow fee and you will be able to release escrow yourself once you've received the product.
