Oh wow. I hadn't seen the whois for octohub. Had only seen octocoin.org. Someone calmer about this all than me should email Alliance of Angels I think.

I'm still in shock that we're talking about Fraud at this point. Like, that that's what it's come to. But it certainly seems like it has.

If I remember he later said that he was asked by the devs to delete it so he did.

I’m both depressed about this all, and oddly uplifted by some recent posts - things about opportunities, people being helpful.

On one hand, things with octocoin have gone abysmally bad of late. I’m still stunned.

On the other hand, there’s still positivity in this thread. And it seems genuine.

Now, that positive attitude won’t amount to a damn thing if the devs never deliver anything. But if they do, octocoin could still be so great. This community really is very solid.

All we need is for the devs to deliver...

I have a feeling that this community would rally behind good octocoin news, especially in the form of product releases like the ones the developers have repeatedly mentioned. I’m sure the developers know this.

I did notice that all (I think all) of the hash on the coin at the moment is coming from here:

That seems like a very bad thing. Like, if that random pool wasn't mining this, there would be zero hash on the coin. Not good.

What I find most deplorable:

The developer posting here is clearly intelligent and can write very well. A person that gifted should not be using their strong writing ability to screw people over.

There are obviously crappy people in the world, crypto and otherwise, and it’s certainly on us for believing and buying in.

But on top of the financial loss, I just hate that we’re being left high and dry by someone who’s obviously smart enough to handle things very differently.

I get that. And this isn't a regulated market like stocks.

However, the octocoin developers have referred to this community as investors and people making an investment in this coin.

Apparently one more thing I should not have believed in.

The series of events aren’t the same, but the helplessness in this small investor’s letter is how I feel vs. the actions so far of the octocoin developers.

The letter writer stands to lose far more on GTAT than I will on octocoin, and I hope far more than anyone will on octocoin. I feel terrible for him.

What hit me as most painfully similar to octocoin?

He’s a small investor who will lose money, like me, because he believed in an organization that ultimately proved extremely unworthy of his trust, and like me, he’s powerless to do anything about it.

I already said I was fine with us not agreeing about what a couple weeks meant. That is still fine.

As for the rest, I want a big update too. And I want it to include more than just words. Personally, I'm tired of having to guess who's hashing or why nothing is ever released from the developers.

You’re free to do and think what you want. Post what you want. But so is DJslick. I think it’s crappy to attack him personally, especially when the facts support him based on a literal reading of the words from the developers.

This is untrue. The developers have given date after date (off the top of my head, because it's been a LOT: a couple weeks multiple times, a specific calendar date at least once in August), and have delivered nothing.

I think DJ is right on about a lot of things. Including that crypto is fast moving and changing. Sitting on "millions of lines of code" (the DEVS words not mine) and letting the world move ahead of them seems unwise to me. Lying to their community over and over is far worse than unwise.

Completely disagree. A couple weeks is an actual measure of time.

And frankly, it's stupid to continue to give them a pass when they don't deliver on what they say they will.

Yea. But I think the devs have gone too far. I think it's been too long. I think they've fallen 100% short of their claims too many times.

And my basis for that is not just my opinion, it's the way the community is reacting. We are fed up.

Bholzer asked why we think the devs owe us anything. I think they do because they promised us specific things.

Hard to disagree with what djslick is saying. Doesn’t prove anything one way or the other, but I don’t think he’s wrong. I thought the same thing when I heard the millions of lines of code thing. Sounded absurd.

But maybe it’s legit and bholzer’s explanation is right. Even if so, the devs here don’t get the benefit of the doubt when making new claims, at least not in my book. They need to earn the benefit of the doubt. And they haven’t. I don't think they understand that.


If the devs want there to not be negativity in the thread, they need to do something about it. Not say something reassuring for the umpteenth time. They’re in the process of pissing away this once very positive community.
