Re: Bitcoin Casino Hosting

Q: Is it legal to start a bitcoin casino?
A: I believe it is perfectly legal and I have never had a single inquiry from a local or foreign government questioning the legitimacy of any of our bitcoin casino customers.

That assessment cannot possibly hold any value and is downright false and dangerous for many of the readers on this forum. That law enforcement doesn't care about your operation does not mean that it's legal for you (though it probably is) or your customers (for who it likely isn't).

Don't get me wrong: I'm not saying that you or your customers should stop. Just don't go around making bogus claims about legal questions, please.

Don't waste your time. Judging by the number of chained unconfirmed inputs these private keys are worthless and their supposed balances will disappear once the transactions are dropped from the mempool.

In other words this is a lie:
Each address is funded  0.00842127 BTC (you can check it with blockchain.info site)

Yep, modified open license , Doge and Bits Supported.

If you are using bustabit's source code under the AGPL you need to release your source code in order to comply with the license.

Please fix that, bitshook. If you are using the open source version of bustabit you need to make your own source code available on your site.

It was generous of bustabit to make its source code available under such a permissive license. You owe it to bustabit and its open source contributors to comply with the license. It's in your own interest as well. Using what is essentially pirated software isn't a good look for a gambling site.

Many companies pay good money to incentivize reporting security vulnerabilities rather than abusing them. dooglus and a bunch of others have been very patient (far more than you deserve in my opinion) and given you very detailed and precise explanations of your site's flaws without demanding anything in return. And now here you are actually complaining that they came to you instead of trying to steal from your customers. This is just precious.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Ryan is still all for adding investing. Not sure when its coming out though, he seems to be preoccupied with Vault (his other project)

Investments are actually one of the core features of Vault. From what I understand MoneyPot will migrate to Vault for bankroll and user balance management once it is stable enough. Other sites gambling sites will also be able to use Vault in the same way.

Just like MoneyPot, Vault is open source, so you can inspect the code and follow the progress on its GitHub page, if you're curious.

The page https://www.moneypot.com/stats indicates that MP has a house profit of 45,235,190 bits. Where did you hear about the 50 btc loss to players?

The profit counter wasn't reset when Ryan bought the site, so Ryan's true P/L is currently something like -35 BTC ignoring the purchase price.

Re: LocalBitcoins is no longer available in Germany ?

you can change your location to a city in a neighbouring country, then look at the map

it is however a problem that people cannot edit/create ads, just enable existing ones

I am not so sure how temporary the problem truly is, so alternatives are needed....back to the old times, the Want ads?  Roll Eyes

Brilliant, really brilliant, how Germany is trying to head back into the past; just not sure if the BaFin is to blame or the scammers (which is LBCs fault then)  Angry

Most German sellers are acting illegally under German law. I don't know if LBC's "retreat" from Germany is the result of actions on BaFin's side or if LBC is just being proactive. In any case I doubt we'll see them return any time soon.

Mycelium's Local Trader seems to be an acceptable alternative for now.

What if you are using Tor ?

It doesn't matter. Searching within Germany or creating offers in Germany is disabled site-wide.

Is it still blocked in Germany or there is any progress ?

It is still possible to access the web site from Germany. The "only" thing that is no longer possible is creating, editing and searching for offers in Germany. Existing offers in Germany have remained active and can still be accepted if you have the direct link or find it via a user's profile page. The escrow system also continues to work.

Misinformation regarding commercial sale of Bitcoins in Germany
by
csmcanarney
on 09/12/2014, 10:06:10 UTC
But, but, but: for LOCAL trades, and that is what LBC is all about, one would need no Fidor or anything else, because it is perfectly legal to do cash trades for legal goods and services, in Germany.

The limit is 10 000 EUR for businesses but not private counterparties (afaik)

Selling Bitcoins in a commercial manner in Germany requires a licence from the BaFin. Whether payment is received in cash or via bank transfer is not relevant.

I'm not sure where you get the 10,000 € figure from. The only such limit I'm aware of is when entering or leaving Germany: Any cash or cash-equivalents exceeding 10,000 € in value must be declared to customs in that case.

Relax, people. Ryan's most likely asleep as even on the East coast it's not even 7:00 yet and yesterday was Thanksgiving, a holiday most people in the US spend eating and drinking with their families. Shouting on the forums isn't going to make him wake up any faster.

I don't see why this would mark the end of MoneyPot, either. The damage that can be caused to the bankroll is limited to what's in the hot wallet.

I heard this guy just copied moneypot's code for his site. Douche.

Which is perfectly fine, even encouraged. The problem is that the license is not being complied with, i.e. ToTheMoon.is's source code is not made available to visitors of the site in a prominent location.

Passwords are still being sent in the clear and there is still no link to the source code on the site.

haploid, i have someone to do it already. however, can you give me a bitcoin address anyway as I owe you some bitk0inz?

How noble of you. Why don't you pay back the money you owe me, BigBitz, Happzz and potentially others in #bitcoin-otc while you're at it?
