Man, guys... New mining location still seems to be too hot even though its exhausting out a dryer vent... Hashing has dropped from 3.75 to 3.0... It must be too hot in the back room of our new house. Cry

Dryer vents are usually only 4 inches. I found that 4 inch is too restrictive to keep the miners properly cool. You need to vent each minor out through a 6 inch tube. I used 6 inch flex tube off the back of each miner and out a window and it works like a charm.

Its something I just had not thought of for whatever reason.

I have separated them and what i had found is as follows: it seems to work with 2 S9's exhausting into a 6 inch round duct or 1 S9 exhausting into a 4 inch round duct. That seems about the max that you can exhaust into each duct.

Thanks for all of your help and pointing out the obvious to me.

I have 4 inch flex tube coming off of each miner that connects to a 4 inch Wye. All 7 eyes are connected to each other in a row and attach to a 6 inch exhaust tube that is insulated flex tube going out of the building.

Block by bluelagoon!  This is our 1st of BLOCK MONDAY! Cheesy
And again, the reward generation will be delayed - but a lot less delay this time.
I ran the shift generation on the backup server (already completed while I was asleep) and just need to do the comparison to work out if I need to fix any shifts or not.
That won't take too long, but I'll post again when I've worked out if the shifts during the last double-restart are OK and when the reward will show.

THANKS KANO-SAN!   MINE ON WITH KANO-SAN!!!

Keep up the good work.

I have 7 S9’s set up in a 10x12 room. I have two portable ac units and a fan in the room. Originally put an exhaust in the ceiling and cut some holes in the door with filters on them. It was too hot in the room 110 Fahrenheit easy.

Today I installed some shrouds and duct work off the back of each miner to get the hot straight out and not recirculate it. The room is much cooler the rack is cool the miners are not hot to the touch. However in the miner interface it is reading that they are all much hotter and now they are not hashing due to their temperature readings.

Here are some pictures of the room. What am I doing wrong.

Questions, probably dumb but i can't seem to figure it out...

When looking at the shift graph all i am able to see is my total hashrate and nd, etc. for all workers combined.

Is there a way to see the hashrate and performance for each individual worker?

Definitively YES!

I am in the middle of month long comparison of Kano to Slush, which I began on March 1 with a S9 on Slush and a fully ramped S9 on Kano.

So far the results are, since 12:00 a.m. march 1st. Kano reward = .01779069 and Slush reward = .01336124. That puts Kano ahead by .004422945.

I do not think either pool has had particularly great or poor luck this month so I would have to put Kano as the pool to mine. That said, February was not the greatest month on Kano and being a smaller pool you are apt to be impacted worse by bad luck it seems, however when you have good luck it is similarly impacted more for the better.

I will be adding 3 more S9's to KanoPool next week!

I have read good reviews of this pool. Do the members recommend it for smaller miners? 114th/s?

Thanks

YES 100%

So I don't post here much, but this has been my go to pool for about almost 3 yrs now. I love it and definitely plan on sticking here long-term, but would like to see some more hash rate here. We're working on getting about 100 more machines online in a couple of months, still working on it!

This might not be appropriate, but want to see the pool keep up which is why I'm posting this here first. Basically we have been working in upstate NY on some build out projects and currently share a space with some local miners and pull about 5 mW.

We are looking to expand our space for another 1000 machines, but are coming up a bit short on funding for the wiring and transformers we will need to put in and all that. Our partner charges $125 a machine to host currently. So we are basically looking for a couple of people that would be willing to pay the monthly fee like 3 months in advance, at some discount for helping us with the funding, to help us close the gap and make this happen. Ideally 1-2 people that could do at least 500 machines.

Been trying to convince some people in our area to allocate some to Kano-warehouse we are in draws about 50 mW so there are some big miners here, so far no luck but will keep trying. Think it would be easier to convince if the pool were larger. And for what it's worth we link to kano on our website too. If you're interested drop me a line for details!
Maybe the 10/3 BTC giveaway might convince some of them? Smiley
See the top of the first post.

I think we need to be about at least about 150 PHs to make the pool visible to large miners - but when someone can point 10PHs at the pool and expect an extra 2 BTC in a month - 10PHs should earn about 25BTC over the next month and should expect to find 2 blocks, so they'd make at least an extra 4% assuming 100% luck - of course they could get an extra 3 BTC if a little lucky Smiley

That is a great idea to do something, but it seems that as of now you only have 1 miner on the pool that is more than 10 PHs, might be hard to get 10 people to point their equipment to this pool in that amount. Why not try getting folks who can point at least 100 + THs and give them a smaller reward than a whole bitcoin for finding a block. it appears as of now there are less than 70 users who have more than 100 THs on this pool.

As of right now, it seems as though if we lost the top 10 miners on this pool we would lose 1/2 the power. As a business owner if I were reliant on 2% of my clients to stay in business that is a recipe for disaster. I would rather have 1000 miners hashing 100 THs each join than 10 miners hashing 10 PHs.

First post here. Been mining for a few months. Just switching half my gear over to Kano for a few months to test the waters. I'm the type of person that is obsessively checking my computer and phone to see how things are going. Is there any sort of an app or notifications system to let me know when my gear goes down while using Kano, so we know when to reboot it? Not a big deal during the week, but weekends when i'm away from the gear and computer i'd like to be able to follow to make sure nothing is down all weekend.

Thanks.
