i guess its not a surprise for a fast-food chain adopting a new way of accepting payment if you based it on how much bitcoin achieved as of now! and also probably they wanted to take chances about the rapid change of bitcoin exchange rate, that's one way of investing your profit into a rapid ROI as what i project their means!

What will be your prediction of how market will become in the next 10 years? as of now their are almost 2,000 cryptocurrencies in the market. will it be increasing in numbers? let me know your opinion.

As a beginner you should try to know deeply what is bitcoin and the cryptocurrencies, understanding it will help you decide if your too late or not. here is my answer to your question, in my opinion its not to late, you will never to late for the futures way of uplifting its economy.
if you want to buy bitcoin, you should buy bitcoin when its value is very low and exchange it with your currency when the value goes higher or when you feel like you have earn the best profit from it.

Media is negative about bitcoin because in that way they could gain more viewers and more viewers more income.

It is impossible, as of today many investors and businesses are accepting bitcoin as payment.
