Tycho, the site is reporting that it is under maintenance for a little while. Could you tell us when it will be backup up?

After signing in, I get the following:
Please wait

I will give 0.2 BTC for all the alt coins. I am not sure what the expected price of them is.

Re: ButterFly Labs SCAM OR NOT???
by

I hope not. I ordered 15 asic sc miners 8 and a half months ago. I had good experiences ordering fpga miners from them in the past also.

No personal experience, but I do know someone from another forum who has two what I think are FPGA ( jalpeno 4.5GH/s models ), he also posted a picture of the PCB for the 8 ASIC model the two jalapeno's paid for . . . Not sure where he got the picture, but there you have it.

One thing that does kind of nag me a little in the back of my head. Why would anyone make these to sell to others, when they could be used to make much more money mining coins ? Yeah something about that doesn't sit right with me, but that doesn't mean I think it is a scam. Just means I think it is odd.

Yes, that's a good question: Why would anyone sell ASICs if they could use them to make more money?

I hope they really are not a scam for the sake of everyone invested in them.

Re: [ANN] Physical Litecoins by CryptoVest (Coming soon!!)

Something I made:

http://www.bitcoin.nl/graphics/litecoin.png

If you want the ai files I can send them to you.
You can use it, change it, mint it or do whatever you want with it.

Leave litecoin on the top and make it with initial upper case -> Litecoin or maybe even all caps -> LITECOIN.
Move cryptovest somewhere else
Definitely have a year minted, not sure about "***" around the year.

Maybe make it just 1% instead of 10%? 10% seems rather high.

Re: GPU ordering issues / How to make a 6 pin pcie connector ?
by

I think your power supply needs to be replaced with a bigger one. You may need around 500 W power supply and it usually already comes with the 6-pin connector. You should check the manufacturer's website to see what the minimum requirements are for the video card.

Why are there two wiki sites for bitcoin listed on this thread? Which one should people preferably use?

http://www.bitcoin.org/wiki/
or
https://bitcoin.it

bitcoin.it seemed to me that it had some of the information updated more frequently than bitcoin.org, but that was just my impression. What is the official bitcoin wiki?

You will need to use something like pushpool for the backend (http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=8707.0).
And create your own front end, I have not found one yet, that is pre-built.

Interesting... When I joined, I was able to post to other places, then all of a sudden I could not figure out why I could no longer post.

Now, I have more than 5 posts and more than 5 hours logged in and still can't post to other places. What else do I need to do to be able to post in non-newbie section?
