My rejected Mh/s is about 15%, which seems pretty high. Any way to bring this down? Would switching server locations help? Or lowering the mining intensity by 1 or 2 help?

Thanks a lot for sharing your set up, I tried 15 scan and 15 expiry but it gave me poor results. Just curious , How many shares per min are you getting ? Because you have more or less exactly the same setup as mine, I have two Sapphires.

last hours shares: 143/147
around 1.2 share per min per card

No way , I'm getting 1.5 shares for both cards per min , What the hell is going on ? I must be a nut case or somethin, I can't see how your cards can be nearly twice as many shares as mine.

Hold on I just noticed , Your temps are 54.0c ? Are you watercooled ?

yup watercooled  Tongue

Somebody please give me their timings for CGMiner , It's giving me a headache , I'm losing heart to be honest.

I've seen somebody getting 1 share per min per R9 290 but I can't find his timings.

Hi Guy's,

Ive been getting loads of rejected shares lately (12%) or so.Normally i hover around 3% rejected.

Any ideas to help me out? I'm loosing around 3 m/hashs due to this the past 2 days.

"intensity" : "20",

"intensity" : "18",

no i always run 20 without a drama. I've even used powertune 30 with great results.
R9 290 cards run @ 890k with that config.

lower intensity to reduce reject, sacrifice some hashes though

Hello
I have been mining here for several weeks, but the useless work resulting of the 1024K difficulty bugs me a bit.

I have been reading the last 50 pages but couldn't find the info I want.
What would be best, using 1 thread with 7950 and high TC for middlecoin or a 280X with g 2 at 750Kh?

what I am asking is what is better to accommodate for the 1024K difficulty, I am trying to make it work as efficient as I can.

any hint?, thank you!
indkt.

so far only these works for me @ 1~% reject

Code:
280x @ 680kh/s:-
thread-concurrency : 28672 (2048 * 14)
gpu-thread : 1
intensity : 18
gpu-engine : 1100
gpu-memclock : 1500

7950 @ 590kh/s :-
thread-concurrency : 25984 (1792 * 14.5)
gpu-thread : 1
intensity : 18
gpu-engine : 1050
gpu-memclock : 1250

Is a 5-6% reject ratio normal for middlecoin? Or do I need to tweak my config?

tweak for lower intensity eg: I 18

using asia server atm
try to go for high thread-concurrency + low intensity
getting 1~% reject

280x @ 680kh/s:-
thread-concurrency : 28672 (2048 * 14)
gpu-thread : 1
intensity : 18
gpu-engine : 1100
gpu-memclock : 1500

7950 @ 590kh/s :-
thread-concurrency : 25984 (1792 * 14.5)
gpu-thread : 1
intensity : 18
gpu-engine : 1050
gpu-memclock : 1250

Woah you sure can run more optimized than that.

We run our 280x @ 725kh/s with 0.5% reject rate
thread-cuncurrency: 8196 (with Zuikkis kernel)
gpu-thread: 2
intensity: 13
gpu-engine: 1020
gpu-memclock: 1500

Im having 760 kh/s at 7970 (< 0.3% rejects) (which is same as 280x) using config which can be found on this page http://cgminer-config.com/. I've made that page a while ago so people could share theirs configs and vote for best ones ;P

using smos-linux (modded BAMT) on my rig
does not play nice with 280x
but 7950 works like charm

ill try for ubuntu/debian os this weekend

edit: and thanks for the links, will give them a try

Must be my config then.
I've got a great hash rate around 880 each card with 820-840 WU but my rejects are huge.

For those of you who have tweaked your settings since the 1024 diff increase.. What have you changed in your settings?  I haven't changed any thing on my system yet.. Its still chugging along OK, just curious if there's something I should take another look at.

My final setting as of a few hours ago are similar to my original setting.  I dropped intensity from 19 to 18, and increased TC from 24000 to 24192.  I seem to have dropped about 15KH, but gained about 60WU.  I've also gone from approximately 5-7% reject rate to 0.38%.  Granted this has only been running a few hours on one 7950, but I'm going to see where it sits after 24.

 (5s):638.4K (avg):635.4Kh/s | A:270336  R:1024  HW:0  WU:643.8/m

Finally a constructive post, thank you. My 7950's rejects rate decreased 3% after I changed I from 20 to 19, and the hash is down by just 10kh. I will try increase TC from 24000 to 24192 and down I by 1 as you did. see if that improves re furthermore.

Glad I could help. I remember reading that the TC was normally best when divisible by the number of stream processors, but everybody seemed to get the best performance at 14000 so that's where I started.  I then tried 12,13,14, and 15, but 13.5 * 1792 seemed to work out best so far. Here's my full arg string.  Let me know if you see anything I should tweak further after your testing!

-I 18 -g 1 -w 256 --lookup-gap 2 --thread-concurrency 24192 --gpu-powertune 20 --gpu-engine 1100 --gpu-memclock 1450 --temp-target 80 --auto-fan

Thanks for your explanation on how to get proper TC
Really helps alot on my 7950

I have exactly the same issue (posted on a previous page), cgminer freezes on middlecoin only, both on BAMT and Win7. My suspicion is that due to frequent switches/disconnects cgminer is more prone to issues and is ready to go over the edge at any time. I've installed the latest ATI drivers on my BAMT box last night and it didn't freeze when a cgminer on my Win7 box did (11:35 PM PST), but showed a huge drop of kh/s at that point in time.

What version of cgminer are you running?

3.7.2 on both boxes. Tried 3.5.0 on my Win7 box, same issue, freezes overnight.

try smos-linux (http://www.smos-linux.org/) [modded BAMT]
if same issue most likely your hardware having odd issues

getting super high reject % on Asia server.....

Is there only a asia.middlecoin server or what other options can I test?

Thanks

only 2%~3% reject rate on asia server atm

try other servers:-

asia.middlecoin.com:3333
middlecoin.com:3333
eu.middlecoin.com:3333
useast.middlecoin.com:3333

if other servers also having high reject rate, you need to re-tune gpu settings; eg: lower intensity, lower gpu/memory clock if oc'ing

How is the 7950 and 280x king when the 270 uses less power?

I think he is referring to KH per Watt

Yup... there are plenty of cards out there and integrated Intel GPUs that use less power... but aren't worth crap for their hashrate.

So the 7950 is still king when it comes to KH/s at its power consumption rate.  Especially when you use one of Lantis' scrypt bin files for cgminer and if you undervolt with the .967v firmware.

We use rigs with 3 x R9 290 Sapphire and XFX cards. They get very hot though.

how hot ? I have some 7970 that hit 95 in an instant ... I've disabled them until I can get some fans on them

i just buy a table fan and blow directly to the cards
manage to maintain 68c~70c @ 50%~80% auto-fan

Precompiled patched versions of the most popular versions of cgminer for LINUX.

Tested under BAMT and also vanilla ubuntu.

3.1.1   http://www35.zippyshare.com/v/41020470/file.html
3.3.1   http://www35.zippyshare.com/v/61573146/file.html
3.5.0   http://www35.zippyshare.com/v/99102641/file.html
3.7.2   http://www35.zippyshare.com/v/59760161/file.html

Hope this helps some of you. Enjoy.

Thanks. Does anyone have them for Windows?
http://bal3wolf.centelia.net/MINING/
a few differt versions for me i like 3.1.1 seems to work best for me with the pool.

Heya guys, new to this middlecoin pool

Wandering if the modded cgminer still required for best performance after the US server fix (eventually applied to EU server)?

Using SMOS-Linux (modded BAMT) atm, is it possible to overwrite the cgminer files with the posted precompiled cgminer for middlecoin?
Or recompile still required

Thanks in advanced

I was about to write you a guide, but someone's done it for you already :

http://rumorscity.com/2013/12/11/how-to-upgrade-cgminer-version-3-7-2-for-bamt/

You should be able to compile your own. Alternatively you could just download my compiled versions (linked above) and follow the tutorial's instructions on moving the preexisting cgminer folder to another name, and renaming the downloaded install folder to "cgminer". Should work fine.

After playing with it this afternoon, I seem to find they all have little caveats. 3.7.2 has the 5 minute wait if it swaps pools before reconnecting (possibly a moot point now with middlecoin). 3.1.1 seems to ramp up hashrate quicker than the others on disconnect (a great thing).

I've moved from 3.5.0 to 3.1.1 today and I'm happy with the decision.

Thanks for your help
Will give a try when returned home
