See your mistake was to not continue mining here Wink

Unfortunately electricity pricing down here in Melbourne makes it uneconomical to mine from home and we moved out of the office where we had free power. Hopefully I'll be back online in the early new year when I get access to another location with included power.

Congrats on the block.

Nice surprise receiving a payout - I wasn't expecting any because I stopped mining so long ago, but keep forgetting that the low hashrate means 5ND is quite long too!

Congrats on the second block. I received my payout even though I had to shut down my miners several weeks ago!

I jumped from BTC.com pool to here just to try. I see that my configuration is corrrect as I am seeing that my hashing rate is consistent to what my miner is capable.

But how do you know how much bitcoin are you getting? I mean, yes there is a mark where it will payout, but is there any other way to see whether you are near to payout or not.

Thank you.

You'll get a payout when the pool finds a block, assuming you meet the requirements under "unique ckpool.org features" on the first post. If you do not meet those requirements then you'll get a payout in a later block.

Yeah I been putting a 42,000 sat fee in each of the block payouts (and I'll keep doing this for the time being while it continues to work)

Aww, I like getting notification emails from blockonomics that show several transactions when we're on a roll!

How does the ETA to the next block relate to the the last block, or how is
that estimated?

The last block found has absolutely zero impact on the next block found - it's purely luck.

The estimate comes from calculating how often you should statistically find a block based on the current pool hashrate compared to the total global network hashrate. But it is just that, an estimate, not a guarantee.

If you find blocks more often than statistically expected then you're having good luck. Likewise if you find blocks less often than statistically expected, you are having bad luck. Over the long term (>6 months) you should expect to get pretty close to what you statistically expect - that is the good luck and bad luck about even out. Short term it's just luck  Smiley

email server currently has 140 errors like this for the last 24 hours
dsn=4.0.0, stat=Deferred: xxx: No route to host

I call that an invalid email address.

Yes it's a static IP, yes it pings, but no there's no email server there.

That is an email server problem, not an email address problem. An email address problem would result in a rejection, not a deferral.

...Also since the pool is smaller than Slush your rewards [per block] are much greater...
Wink

Yes, that is what I meant even though I wasn't succinct and perfectly clear in my sentence.  Cool
I would much rather share the block reward with ~800 users with ~6,200 workers than with ~4,700 users with ~almost 19,000 workers on Slush!  Grin Grin

Come ON Stubborn BLOCK!!! CRACK ALREADY!!!!
It time!  Cool Cool Cool Cool

Assuming a similar ratio of total hashrate between the two pools and payout method, your earnings should be about the same over the long term. Larger portion of a smaller number of blocks, or a smaller portion of a higher number of blocks.

Of course, all pools are not equal, which is also why I'm here with my modest 5THs.

Why would ANYONE buy ANYTHING with Butterfly Labs name on it??  No way to warranty or fix their shit anymore............

Heh. BFL were just starting to get a bad rep the first time I was mining before I moved house interstate and had to stop mining.

Just buy brand name PSU's that have MORE than enough wattage to do what you need?? Simple  Wink

Well, that is what I thought I'd done!

The Bitmain APW3 supply looks ok and seems to be a reasonable price. Anyone had any issues with them? By the time I factor in getting the HP DPS1200 supply, PCIe cables and either a breakout board or time to solder the pigtails straight to the connector, the price seems to be quite good.

My current two HP power supplies were out of a decommissioned server at work, so free.

Thanks for all the replies guys! Went to bed after posting and got up expecting a few views and no replies. Surprise!

The sticker on the power supply only mentions one 12V rail, with a total power of 1200W available (100A). I was using the 4 PCIe connectors out of the supply to connect to each of of the connectors on the Avalon, ie, not using the double headers at the miner end.

I'm in 240V land.

I'm using a couple of HP DPS-1200 power supply on a pair SP20s, so I might swap out the Avalon for one of the SP20s. Reason I got this Thermaltake power supply is the SP20s are at work and I only go in to the office a couple of days so it was easier to get the A6 up and running.

I've just had a brand new Thermaltake Toughpower 1200W Gold that I purchased yesterday burn up (literally!) after powering an Avalon A6 miner for about 30 hours. Luckily I was in the room when it went and smelt it before it actually burst into flames.

Wondering whether I just got a bad power supply (seems to be my luck) or if it just wasn't up to the job. Thoughts?

Hey Kano, I received the payment for the last block without us finding a new one about an hour ago.  Perfectly fine with me I just was wondering why, I believe that it's a first time I see this happen.  Thanks!  Smiley

Look back on the previous page, another pool confirmed the payout transaction.

Since the firewall you use only works with IP addresses in the rules, maybe allow your miners to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 port 53 for DNS?  Set your miners DNS to those 2 IP's, then you wouldn't have to worry next time an IP changes.  Just throwing out options for you..

That won't work for him either. The shortcoming (not going to say problem) is that the firewall would need to do the DNS lookup at the time it boots (and maybe periodically to refresh) to determine what firewall rule to put in place and it doesn't support that.

The "fix" would be to allow all outbound traffic to TCP port 3333, but that would open him to up his miners being able to connect to pools he doesn't want them to (which I would assume is what is trying to be prevented).

Just curious what sort of fees people are paying to sweep their mining addresses?

I'm looking at sweeping about once a month and, not being particularly time important (I'm sweeping into a paper wallet for now anyway), I'm thinking somewhere around 5-10 satoshi/kb.

Quick question, should minors aimed at the 13333 test pool show up in the user stats or are they separate until you deploy the test code to the main pool? The iOS app and website are both showing a rate of 0 when I've had 3.2Th/s aimed at the test pool for the list 85 minutes? (As mentioned previously I'm only lottery mining 90 minutes a day)

Edit: a 5 minute / 1 hour rate of 0, it is showing a 1 day rate of 100M, which I'm guessing was yesterdays lottery attempt.

Ah, apologies, missed that. Perfect thanks Smiley
