Look at that down wick. They didn't even manage a red candle (EDIT: on the hourly). Now look at the volume. Plenty of buyers, relatively speaking. I hope the fuckers had to give away lots of satoshis for peanuts.

Largest bank in Australia enables Bitcoin and shitcoin buying in their backing ap.

https://www.afr.com/companies/financial-services/cba-to-add-crypto-to-its-banking-app-20211102-p595da

As a customer of theirs, the idea sounded pretty good, but stratching under the surface, they're not doing all that much I don't think.

“CBA will leverage Gemini’s crypto exchange and custody service and integrate it into the CommBank app through APIs.”

It's nice for the legitimacy of the space and shows the banks corporate opinions of bitcoin, where I'd seen in the past many Australian users getting accounts closed and blackballed by banks over bitcoin trading's. I just don't think I'm going to be able to deposit bitcoin and sell it directly into my account, but we'll wait and see.

$50K is being such a tease right now.

I'm still not sure if he checked before making that post. Check the time difference between our darling chartbuddy and his post. It was just 11 minutes difference on September 3 Forum time, hence bitcoin was trading around $48k.
I am chart buddy   Cheesy Cheesy
The point I was going for is that we get to 50k, and then dip soon after, and have a few times now. This has been going on for nearly 2 weeks, nearly every day having a 49xxx top. AKA tease.

Trying to jump on the Elon edgy cool kids bandwagon of subtly promoting crypto, but posting the lamest PC / SEC friendly thing imaginable?

"Hey guy's, I'm a super rich tech guy and down with the latest too you know. I can even post it on the hip socials and not my lame ass boomer social network where you would have never seen it if I did"

(or am I reading into it too much)

By the By today is my 8th Year Anniversary of finding out about Bitcoin! April 13th, 2013!
I have memories of buying my first bitcoin in April 2011, and I just searched my email to see if I could fit the exact date.

27th of May

OK, close enough.

Wiring $500 to MtGox. Sketchy as frig.

I just don't have my original forums account here, someone nicked it.

that should have been about 50 btc, give or take aka $3mil today.
I then went back and spent a bit over $2.5k total over the next 2 weeks. I had 168 btc total back then.

I do not have 168 btc now though. I learnt my Hodl lessons in trading. Easy to make btc in a bear market, hard when it turns bullish, as it did in 2013.

I am doing well though, your estimate isn't far off. I've sold off ~$250k worth between 2017 and today.

we added an extra $100kCAD an hour before the vendor was considering all the offers. The extra hundred grand was nothing compared to the millions by which our coins increased in value while we patiently waited.

Wow, that's a pretty good vendor intel right there.
Is it typical in Canada to be told the decision time by an hour?
I never heard about it here, where they just vaguely tell you that a better offer was received.
One time my buying agent was clearly in cahoots with the selling agent (that is completely illegal)-we even had to have a consult with a lawyer.

On Wednesday when I made an appointment with my agent to put together an offer and meet me on Thursday to sign it, there were no other offers.

On Thursday when I met her to sign, she said the vendor's agent had told her there was another offer. I signed for the asking price. I trust my agent but I don't know the vendor's agent.

Then later that afternoon she called to tell me there was yet another offer. She also said that the vendor's agent told her that the vendor and his lawyer were going to meet with him at noon the next day to assess all three offers.

Later that night after clearing my head with a few drinks, I was suspicious about the flurry of last-minute offers. I realized that maybe the other agent wasn't being completely forthcoming about all the offers and maybe he was holding back an offer where he stood to make both ends of the commission by representing both the vendor and the purchaser. That's when I decided to throw in the extra $100k and waive several conditions to make a preemptive strike and make sure we got the lake.

I met my agent at 9:30AM on Friday, initialed all the changes to the offer and she got it to the vendor's agent around 11:00AM.

Talk about the eleventh hour!
Are you sure there were other offers and you didn’t just bid against yourself? Real estate is a real scummy business.

Just over 70k for us Aussies yesterday, and also any Canadian's who is at parity with us. If the trend holds, should be 100k aud by the end of the month.

"Brute force attacks against 256-bit keys will be infeasible until computers are built from something other than matter and occupy something other than space".

-Bruce Schneier

"I can state flatly that heavier than air flying machines are impossible."

— Lord Kelvin, 1895

Brute force, so checking every combination, makes some pretty easily verifiable claims.

If you build a supercomputer that occupies a space of only 1 cubic centimetre, that can brute force 1 trillion keys a second, and cover the entire earths surface with these computers, the Sun will swallow the Earth, before you have time to search the whole 256 bit key space.

I have also seen other calculations that information represented as its absolute minimum energy in the laws of physics, that there is not enough energy in the Sun to search a 256 bit key space either.

I had a small surgery today, and I checked the price before going in and after I got out and it was up $400. My first thought was this meme

When $20k? I got house plans sitting here that aren’t gonna be viable until that price.

Wife knows all about what I got and is cool and calm about it all and trusts me to sell when it is the right time to.

We have plans to build a new house. We bought the land back in December last year, sold enough BTC to pay for the land deposit and architect fees then, pretty much a day before the peak. It has been a long drawn out process getting planning sorted, the plans are not quite finalised yet still.

What I have in BTC is enough to build half the planned house, and so we sit and wait for it to come back up before we start building.

We currently own our current house with only a small mortgage left on it as well, so we aren't wasting rent money waiting here. Just with a toddler and a baby now, the current house is getting a bit cramped.

New house is going to be in the order of 10,000 sqft all up on a 5 acre plot. Grin
