Re: 1 BTC now equals $630!!!

The increase in price/activity seems to be causing the block sizes to reach their limit.. For the past 100 blocks

Code:
1MB: 1
999kB: 23
998kB: 35
997kB: 4
992kB : 2
995kB: 1
900kB: 18
Under 900: 16

So just 1 Maxed out  but a lot that are over 990kB..  I have a feeling if this price increase keeps going up... there's going to be a lot more maxed out blocks coming.

Re: Bitcoin 20MB Fork

maybe there is something I don't understand.

However I can't see why anyone would have a problem with an increased block size.

Now unless I am mistaken...

Let's say the pretend the current average of blocks is 780kb

If the max size was increased to -100MB- tommorow then  the average block size will STILL be 780kb..

the only thing that has changed is the maximum size that the blocks can be.

Re: Dirty messages in the block chain
by

It is not dirty but I put this message in the blockchain forever:

https://blockchain.info/tx/bf40e4a1c2546747bc800a085e7145d921a9f402aaf4040c155ff5d0df9cc999

That must have taken a lot of valuable time. Which sucks because nobody else would bother to read it.

That is not the issue, the issue is that illegal information could be conveyed that way

Top secret stuff, terrorism ... would that turn the entire blockchain illegal?
It wouldn't turn the entire blockchain illegal.. but it would certainly put you on a watch list.

And I doubt terrorists would reveal their latest plans somewhere where anybody can read it.

An excellent point... to play devil's advocate though, they could send out a notice saying "go now" or something, signalling other jihadis to start an operation they planned earlier.
Why would they even bother having to leave a message? Might as well just say.. the moment 1 satoshi gets sent to an address as the signal to go.

they do pay postage.. at least with the two blu-rays I sent them.

They gave be a postage label to stick to the package.

I was looking at the payment page sourcecode...  still traces of "bitcoin" in there.. couple of things were commented out.

They set it up so that you get paid whatever the current conversion price is once it reaches them.

They also pay the postage.

Re: Saw this today at one of my local charity shops

Next Time I walk by I'll go into the shop and try to take a photo of the thing from the inside... as the sign is inside the shop.

The name of the charity shop is "Last Chance Animal Rescue"  It's located in Bromley, London, UK.

And what tells us it's not your btc address?

You think I went into the shop.. closed the door... taped a sign to the window  from the inside.. hoping no staff would notice and then do the same thing again next week..?
