Some very cool cool things being done with XCP. I may take a position on this coin.
Spells of Genisis looks fresh and original...also like the news regarding Force of Will.
I also never knew Storj was an XCP asset.

What other things will and are creating value around this coin?
Why has the price shot up 200kSAT over the past days?

Got my eyes on XCP. Seems like it is in an uptrend of some kind....

Devs are adding Ethereum Virtual Machine.  Basically Ethereum smart contract functionality across all Counterparty assets secured by Bitcoin network.

There is also Takara a geocaching game that allows assets to be dropped

http://www.financemagnates.com/cryptocurrency/interview/bitcoin-go-geocaching-game-takara-lets-you-collect-counterparty-tokens/

But recent rise was due to Spells of Genesis release.

Now can someone tell me again why anyone should use ETH instead of XCP? ETH lost its usecase and bullish outlook entirely thanks to this news.

All comments and opinions welcome but please keep it civil.

Disclaimer: i am not holding any ETH or XCP at the moment.

XCP is not the only smart contract for bitcoin
rootstock and i think maidsafe

eth has a consortium of financial leaders backing it to produce a blockchain to change the current financial industry.

R3 consortium

bit of a difference

Selling out and celebrating a partnership with a banking consortium is an anathema to many of us here and is therefore not considered a positive.

Thanks. Yes, says"version" : 1010001 and controller Wallet-v1.0.1.0.

I've restarted VPS, restarted MN, but all go missing. No idea what's going on here.

One thing I have noticed is that if I open controller wallet from Windows app list it opens Wallet-v1.0.0.0. even though I have since installed v1.0.1.0.  It does this on both my pcs.

Thanks guys controller was on 1.0.1.0.  I made mistake of downloading from Spanish ANN, which has never been updated, and so many different versions I should have deleted.

OK guys and gals.. I did end up finding crz that Danonthehill suggested, his work is "Outstanding", but with that quality, comes a cost. a significant one. He has asked for a budget, so I need to guage what everyone thinks.

If you want to see a sample of his work, check out this link;

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=745352.0

To start he is willing to redesign the the BCT ANN, Coin Logo and Default Wallet Design.

I am sure this would take us to a higher level of professionalism, but I need to hear your thoughts before I create a budgetary proposal for his work.

I was also approached by another individual who has done some work, waiting to hear back what other services he offers (possible Wallet Gui/ Coin Logo Design)

here is his example he recently finished;

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1268718.0

he is significantly cheaper;

give me your ideas please

CRZ looks better.  I would suggest wait until market rises so that cost becomes viable. Perhaps major brand overhaul after anon developments have taken place?

I would say that spending BTC on advertizing is a waste.  Everyone in this space already knows about DNET.  Focus on the development i.e. anon tech and this will be reflected in price and growth of userbase.  If to strengthen DNET in otherways then branding could be worked on, maybe hire CRZ (I think that's the guy who did SDC branding) or expand documentation, roadmap, website, whitepaper etc.

here is Option 2 from my point of view,  the coins production is reduced by 25% over the first 3 yrs. Each PoS Phase has been adjusted to 180 day cycle

PoW Phase = 84,600,00 + Possible Budget of 8,460,000 = 93,060,000 or less

PoS Phase 1: (100 DNET per block) Blocks 259201 - 518400 [259200 blocks] 25,920,000 DNET + Possible Budget of 2,592,000 = 28,512,000 or less)

PoS Phase 2: (50 DNET per block) Blocks 518401 - 777600 [259200 blocks] 12,960,000 DNET + Possible Budget of 1,296,000 = 14,256,000 or less)

PoS Phase 3: (25 DNET per block) Blocks 777601- 1036800 [259200 blocks] 6,480,000 DNET + Possible Budget of 648,000 = 7,128,000 or less)

PoS Phase 4: (12.5 DNET per block) Blocks 1036801- 1296000 [259200 blocks] 3,240,000 DNET + Possible Budget of 324,000 = 3,564,000 or less)

PoS Phase 5: (5 DNET per block) Blocks 1296001 + [259200 blocks] 1,296,000 per yr there after + Possible Budget of 129600 = 1,425,600 or less)

[End of Phase 5: 147.945.600]

Personally, I would like to see that total cut and half.  Really don't see a need to have that many coins released in that timeframe for a stable functioning currency.

ok, I will work the numbers, but you do realize that that requires drastic changes, which if I recall you were against not long ago.

Don't get me wrong, I'll support changes however drastic, if they make a stronger network and help support the market.  I have a bias towards encouraging masternodes, because I know the anon developments are likely to take time, and my perception was the growing number of masternodes would be an indicator to others that coin network is strong.  However, I now also appreciate that POS staking plays a more important role in keeping the network secure.

New POW schedule looks good. Your new proposal for extended POW, weekly drops and schedule I think will be better if it allows masternode growth to continue and focus on POS later.

Last thing we want is everyone setting up MN's due to significantly larger profit than staking.
That means the actual network will be very vulnerable due to not enough staking going on.

How does staking interest/masternode payouts compare with DASH? Seems like they have incentivized masternodes quite well, but they have larger cost barrier to setting up a masternode.  How do we replicate and improve on this with low market cap, possibly transitioning into larger market cap?

Perhaps larger collateral requirements could also be considered. Or maybe addition of supernodes, if necessary to achieve the anon "air gap" would have higher requirements with higher payout. As the POS schedule is long term, if supernodes are likely requirement to achieve true anon then maybe this should be considered and factored in to long term schedule.

DASH currently has 6.33 million coin supply with ~3400 masternodes.
You need 1k DASH per MN so it has approx. 54% locked down as MN.

DNET currently has 20.71 million coin supply with ~730 masternodes.
You need 10k DNET per MN so it has approx. 35% locked down as MN.

That's some feat considering DNET was only launched 2 months ago.
USP will come according to devs so we'll just have to wait and see.
Creating infra takes time. Definitely needs more helping hands...

That was my point. If masternode payments are only slightly better than staking, number of masternodes will decrease.  This strength of the network will be considered as a part of the USP when it comes to the consideration of exchanges like Poloniex.  Therefore encouragement of masternodes needs to be a priority.

As we work on the PoS implementation that is still a few months away, We have been discussing some potential numbers for the Reward values for the PoS phase. We wanted to get everyones opinions, good or bad.. In the end this is a Community Driven Coin and thats the way we want it.

So here are some possible numbers, keep in mind that these are not in concrete, and are to stimulate some discussion. after a few days of discussion, if there are not any major issues i will post it for formal vote.

If for some reason you are not in favor, please explain why you feel this way.

PoS Phase 1: (50 DNET per block) Blocks 259201 - 777600 [518400 blocks per year] 25,920,000 DNET

PoS Phase 2: (25 DNET per block) Blocks 777601 - 1296000 [518400 blocks per year] 12,960,000 DNET

PoS Phase 3: (5 DNET per block) Blocks 1296001- 1814400 [518400 blocks per year] 2,592,000 DNET

PoS Phase 4: (2.5 DNET per block) Blocks 1814401 + [518400 blocks per year] 1,296,000 per yr there after

let us know your feelings.. Smiley

And what are you thinking for the masternode rewards?

The split between the masternodes and the staker would still be using the seesaw mechanism we had discussed before. The numbers for the split between stakers and masternodes are still being hashed out. Our intent is still to have masternodes be only slightly more profitable than staking on a per coin basis when the network is balanced properly between coins staking and locked up in masternodes. We are really just trying to see how everyone feels about the overall block rewards and coin production. Once we are switched over to PoS we can reduce inflation by lowering the rewards for each block. What we want to do is start a conversation about the pros and cons of such substantial rewards reductions.

Masternode only slightly more profitable than staking? I wouldn't feel incentivized to run a masternode if that was the case.

Fluctuations in price mean I could have accumulated more DNET this last month if I'd day-traded, as opposed to holding in a masternode.  If I was just staking in wallet because masternode was only slightly more profitable, that's exactly what I would have done:  traded and moved coins back & forth to wallet to stake, with less long term incentive to hold.

Setting up a masternode was a hassle, updating was a hassle, paying hosting invoices a hassle, not to mention the additional cost.  I am not going to be doing this for a slight and negligible profit in an uncertain market.

One of the features of this coin is it currently has a strong network 700+ masternodes and growing.  I see the strength of the network being a USP in the future.  Lots of coins have lots of POS participants, lots of coins don't have a 1000, maybe 2000+ masternodes.  It should be a priority to encourage and achieve this.

I hope.. I dont understand why people dont invest into it..
Its still cheaper to get a MN now, and get higher daily payout than miners get..

And thats without paying for power.

Profitability of MN will significantly drop (40%) in about 3 days when it reaches block 86400.

I don't get it. Why?

Top wallet on bittrex has 700K Shocked

how can you see this data?

Not sure this is Bittrex specific, you can see the top wallets details on presstabs explorer

Bittrex also has distribution tab.
