Thanks  words like these are a huge push to do better and better, so I turn your compliments to the project team because my great love for the project stems not only from my passion for the technological project that I love (the first blockchain for virtual reality and also with the addition of masternodes, an incredible combination) but it also stems from having understood that these guys of the team have been building their visionary and futuristic dreams for many years now, which many will benefit from because they want create immersive experiences for any human sector (many think about gaming when they think of VR but it's just one of many areas) experiences in a virtual world designed to be within everyone's reach and with the security that only a blockchain with masternodes can guarantee (not it is a coincidence that in these days projects such as Dash and Zcoin have raised the level of importance of masternodes once again in their blockchains in defense of the blocks created by the miners with the new mechanism they call "chainlocks" and which leads Dash to be probably the most secure pow network today in the sense that an attack becomes practically impossible thanks to the protection of the masternodes that secure the work of miners).
Our team guys thought that for the virtual world they are creating, more speed and more security is needed, so they raised the bar of masternodes importance by dropping the pow and letting only the masternodes create the blocks. For three months then in our network we have a unique and first industry consensus protocol and we are the first project that took the "classic" masternodes (those in Dash style for instance) and put them to create blocks alone without mininig, without staking and without higher hardware requirements. Here you have perfectly highlighted one of the fundamental points that distinguishes Project Districts 3DCoin from other projects also very famous dedicated to virtual reality in the crypto space, which in the end are only simple dapps with their own tokens on third-parts blockchain (generally they are only a token and a dapp on blockchain Ethereum) while here the 3DC team is developing all the power of not one but 3 blockchain in 1  with three types of specialized nodes (masternodes, primenodes, pulsenodes) entirely dedicated to the virtual world of Project Districts!

The team has been working for years on track, because the team guys are developing an entire decentralized virtual ecosystem on its own dedicated blockchain that will raise the level of VR technology applied to the blockchain (and viceversa, the blockchain applied to VR) by several notches.

3 months ago on March 14, 2019 at the block 475k of 3DCoin blockchain the historical fork was occurred which introduced the innovative consensus protocol based exclusively on masternodes!

Development update June 2019

Onwards and upwards


Our developers, Artem and Ashot have been hard at work since the last development update.

Version 0.13.4.0 was released a week later than we had hoped but was worth the wait. Everyone who has updated is experiencing improved stability, lower resource consumption and fast syncing. The network node count has recovered from its dip and there are currently around 1000 masternodes and 1500 systemnodes online. The systemnode count is still much lower than it traditionally has been because the depressed price makes them unprofitable (in fiat terms) on many hosting platforms at present. However, canny community members know the systemnode ROI is higher than the masternode ROI, take a long term view and keep running those nodes.

Trezor

The final pre-reqs for Trezor integration have been completed:
Bitcore-Crown and the associated Crownsight explorer
the pull-requests to Trezor-firmware for the prefix change and explorer links
We now have to wait for Trezor to push a new firmware release. These happen roughly every 3 months and the last was in March so we’re hoping it will happen this month.

NFT framework

Artem is still concentrating on development of the non-fungible token (NFT) framework. He has completed coding of most of the APIs (get, getbytxid, totalsupply, balanceof, ownerof) and has a couple more still in progress. He’ll be working on the documentation soon and we’re hopeful for a testnet release on 20 June 2019.

Codebase refresh

Ashot evaluated the best Bitcoin codebase to migrate to and has settled on v0.17. This is going to be a complex and time-consuming process. He basically has to take all the changes over the last four years which made Crown Crown, and re-apply them to a clean Bitcoin base. A very rough guestimate for how long this might take is 3–6 months.

Astute readers might wonder why we chose Bitcoin v0.17 rather than v0.18 since the amount of effort is about the same. The reason is account support. Accounts are the flaky wallet code for partitioning wallet funds into separate chunks. Some centralised exchanges are known to rely on this functionality. In Bitcoin v0.17 the functionality is deprecated but still present. In Bitcoin v0.18 it is removed completely. Switching to the v0.18 codebase without prior agreement from exchanges could cause us problems.

The new codebase will bring security, speed and stability enhancements. It will also make it easier to keep up to date with critical Bitcoin changes and ease maintenance into the future.

I resume the topic of "real estate use case" because I draw inspiration from a question that was correctly made in our Telegram official chat group where it was actually asked what was the advantage of using the virtual platform Districts Visual Studio (DVS) on our 3DCoin blockchain.
In fact, the Medium article is rightly focused on the advantage in terms of costs and development because the platform will be accessible to various subjects (companies and design studios for example) without specific development skills and without exaggerated costs as the Medium article explains well.

But today the question that everyone asks themselves in any project is "what is the blockchain for in this area"?

This is the answer I gave to the user who asked about in our Telegram group and I think it can be useful to bring it back here in the topic:

A construction company, a real estate company, an architecture and design firm can let customers visit the buildings in a VR virtual environment, even before the buildings are built or completed or renovated (and this is nothing new but something is already done in various parts of the world with other VR software) or overlap in AR some changes or variations to the design of a build (external or internal) still to be realized (also this is something already done with various VR software I think), but here is the novelty of the use of VR/AR/MR in general on blockchain: everything you do, stipulate, everything you buy / sell in a VR /AR /MR dapp of Districts World can record it in blockchain and therefore it becomes valid and immutable (but transferable of course) with the classic guarantees and advantages that we know typical of smartcontracts and digital recordings on blockchain.
Then there are also purely advantages related to greater possibilities without specific skills and reduced implementation costs of virtual environments based on the type of software client the team is building (Districts Visual Studio or DVS) but this is an advantage linked to the software features of for itself and not so much to the fact that it is on blockchain.

Then as already mentioned, it allows to record in real time a series of contractual and binding data in a certain way, in some regulations (also in Italy for example, see article linked below) legal value has already been recognized for smart contracts and DLTs.
So a virtual reality environment (cheap, simple to use, etc. etc.) but which in addition has features related to the possibilities in terms of data recording, properties and their transfer guaranteed by the blockchain and without the so-called "third party" intermediary.

The following article is from one of the largest Italian online newspapers in the crypto sector, not just Italian in reality because it has an edition also in English, and it speaks precisely of the legal value that in Italy (I do not think it is the only one) is already recognized to the data recorded in DLT distributed registers (such as the blockchain in fact).

The advantage of using blockchains for data recording is now known: Everything is digitalized, the third intermediary is eliminated (notary or other), some margins of random interpretation are eliminated. it gives certainty and non-modifiability (fraudulent) to the data. All these things are already recognized advantages in the sector and not a peculiarity of our project. Simply the project combines a good, cheap and simple for all VR platform with already established advantages of the blockchain that we should all know already.

In other words: We add virtual reality, or rather we bring the same advantages of the blockchain that will already be used and are already regulated in some jurisdictions for use in the real world also to virtual world. So there will be the possibility (not the  obligation obvious) to record things that need to be recorded on the blockchain even when doing actions in the virtual world.

In short, a virtual world in addition to the possibilities already offered by the blockchain in the real world. Easy and simple!

And of course this will ensure that the actions taken in the virtual world will also have legal effect in the real world when it is deemed appropriate by the parties.
