wow this naturalorder guy is so annoying, could we please ban him?

Every day he makes new accusations, just 2 days ago he accused me of colluding on your site in an extremely rude and harsh tone. Next day I saw him saying the exact same thing to another person. It's not even funny anymore, please don't waste your dev time replying to him.

Re: zero (now one) connections
by

Sure I could try that, but

1. I have 1 (one) active working connection to a node; connected through port 8333,

2. I had the router from the beginning and in over 6 weeks it never gave me problems, constantly getting 20-30 connections,

3. I use the built-in uPnP feature which always has worked flawless as a port-forwarding tool.

So this tells me the port is not the issue here, right?

Yes, I did the test. Port 8333 is still not open to the outside (which is correct imo, since it's only opened for the bitcoin client via upnp, right?), I am still connected to one lonely node, blocks are downloaded successfully, but no more than this one connection get opened.

No, just one computer.

And another strange thing happened: I'm now stable at exactly 1 connection for the last 15 minutes and the client even managed to download the latest blocks. Shouldn't it now start to acquire more connections, since it's obviously not really blocked and connected to the network successfully? This all doesn't make any sense to me.

Yes, that was my first idea, too. I have a software firewall and although it never made any problems before it was the first thing I shut down to try again, didn't help.

I did this, and also added another 4 fallback nodes from the wiki. After restart I had 1 connection for a second, then it jumped back to zero and stayed there. Some minutes later I again had 1 connection for 10 seconds till it jumped back to zero. Is something actively killing my conns?

I really never had any problems with connections, but now that I make a huge transaction suddenly everything goes wrong? Please help me :/

--- ctoon6: I get this when checking:

Error: I could not see your service on 91.65.xxx.xxx on port (8333)
Reason: Connection timed out

I'm using the client built-in upnp for port forwarding and never had any problems getting lots of connections (over 6) before. Also I'm on cable internet so I can't really go around the router.

zero (now one) connections

Hi,

I haven't changed anything in my setup hardware or software wise, usually got around 20-30 connections immediately for the past 6 weeks. But now suddenly I'm stuck at 0 connections, sometimes it will go up to 1 or 2 but then quickly drop back to 0 without downloading the latest block. I'm stuck at 136916 here.

Any ideas?

Unconfirmed for 3 blocks?
by
darkwon
on 17/07/2011, 22:01:19 UTC
Alright, so someone sent me BTC about 2 hours ago, transaction showed up immediately. Since then, 3 blocks have been solved (779, 780 and 781) but I still have 0 confirmations. Is this normal or should I become worried that in fact I didn't get any BTC from the guy?

Well, seems like blocks are solved again and showing up in blockexplorer (779 was big, over 260k BTC transferred). But still my transaction was not confirmed in 779, 780 and 781, is this something to worry about or will it be confirmed in future blocks?

Ok now my client shows block 779 to be solved, but it doesn't show up in blockexplorer and my transaction is still unconfirmed?

Yea i see that too and that block was 3 hours ago, right? I mean is this normal behavior, because there should be 6 blocks per hour normally if i'm correct, and this would be a major statistical unlikeliness, something like 0,00001% chance for this to happen.

Is this really true? Blockexplorer and my own client are at least telling me this..

I'm getting a bit nervous, has this happened before?
