Insiders already know that ONLY ICNX trading platform will launch in Q1 2017, while the Open Fund Management Platment is not launching until later in 2017.
Iconomi Devs don't give a fuck about ICN, they're more interested in raising funds for ICNX fund because that gives them long term job security through fund management fees.
Devs already said they will be talking about "ICOs in general" at Florida conference.
Basically, they scammed people into raising $10m based on false and inflated hopes of large exchanges and high Dividends, and now they're speaking at conferences to teach other teams on "How to run a Successful ICO"
Expect a HUGE DUMP when this launch finally happens in next few weeks, by then, insiders will be already out. (as usual)

ICNX is an open-ended fund, which means investors can withdraw all their capital until there is $0 for management fees if they feel like it. How is that "long term job security"?
Maybe they are waiting until both ICN and ICNX tokens are in circulation before they push for more exchange listings. Major exchanges usually do not list coins until the dev team gives them the green light.

i remember when Warren Buffet was trolling Bitcoin (the real Warren Buffet not the troll ). New technology with the possibility of being implemented globally ,and he tells investors to stay away . His weariness of bitcoin came from a place of ignorance and not knowing anything about the product . In the future he won't be known as the the billionaire , hell be known for the biggest financial blunder of the century which is telling people they shouldn't invest in BTC. I see people doing the same thing with ICN at the moment .

Ill go with ICN. Its gone up almost 3x the ico price in about 4 months , is ranked 11th on coin market cap right now, and the release of they're platform is coming up any week . My humble opinion

Poloniex has had 27,500 btc volume ($24 million) trading volume in the last 24 HOURS! Imagine how much trading volume they have in 1 year and how much profit they make from fees! I will be happy with just 10% of that trading volume on OFM in the first year...

So Polo has $24M per day in trading volume. That's roughly 30*24M = $720M in trading volume per month.
Let's assume ICONOMI OFM ramps up to capture 10% of the Polo trading traffic per month at some time in 2017. At that point, OFM would be handling 2750 BTC in trade per day for a total of around 30 * 2.4M = $72M in trades per month. Hey, that sounds like a reasonable goal....
Poloniex fees are detailed at https://poloniex.com/fees/. If ICONOMI charges a competitive 0.20% fee, they would then be earning roughly speaking 0.002 * 72M = $145K per month in OFM fees, or around $1.75M per year. As the official owners of the OFM, holders of ICN tokens receive all fees from the OFM platform. Thus in this example 100M ICN tokens would split $1.75M per year, or around 0.0175 USD per ICN token per year. These tokens are currently for sale at Kraken for around 0.3000 USD per ICN token.
So ICN TOKENS PURCHASED ON KRAKEN TODAY OFFER A 0.0175 / 0.3000 = 5.8% ANNUAL RETURN ON INVESTMENT JUST FROM OFM FEES FOR EVERY 10% OF POLONIEX TRADE TRAFFIC CAPTURED DURING 2017.
IF OFM EVER GETS AS BIG AS POLO, ICN TOKEN HOLDERS GET 0.175 USD PER YEAR PER ICN TOKEN JUST FROM OFM FEES. THIS WOULD BE A 58% ANNUAL RETURN AT CURRENT KRAKEN ICN PRICES.
BUYING ICN AT KRAKEN IS LIKE BUYING INTO AN IPO OF POLONIEX OWNERSHIP - AND MUCH, MUCH MORE. THESE CALCULATIONS DO NOT INCLUDE ADDITIONAL PROFITS ACCUMULATED BY ICN TOKENS FROM ICNX AND ICNP FUNDS. THESE ADDITIONAL PROFITS MAY BE EVEN BIGGER THAN OFM PROFITS.

Read jani's response. Tl;dr: Citizens of the USA can legally hold ICN and trade it on exchanges. They aren't allowed to invest in Iconomi's funds (including OFM) or open their own fund via OFM.

It's early to buy ICN yet or is it only high going forward? It's possible for ICN to lower its price just before the 28th?
It's foolish to buy any coin in middle of a pump. Wait for price to get stabilise than make a decision.
What you say might be true for some other coins, but not for this token. Listen, ICN is pumping way before the platform is live, and only because of the stroke of news that Iconomi plans to launch the platform earlier than expected. Imagine when the platform gets launched, the current price most likely is going to shoot at least 4x higher now on top of all this imagine when Dividends starts rolling in, say another 4x+++ pump, so for me, there is still room for ROI buying at right now prices. In fact I am still purchasing right now as we speak, I have a buy orders in Liqui that gets filled from time to time and I go right back there and replenish the buy order, I am coding a high level program/Bot with the purpose of auto placing new buy orders at over Liqui once my existing ones gets fulfilled.
I have purchased over 75,000 ICN's spanned in many many days, my goal is to reach 1.5 Million ICN's and I will not stop buying until my target Q'ty is reached regardless what's the price.
