Re: Getting a Trezor in the Philippines

Better get the Ledger Nano S which is also a hardware wallet that can handle Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ethereum Classic, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Zcash, Dash and Stratis. Trezor handles only Bitcoin you cannot store other altcoins.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm just new in the cryptocurrency world. How exactly did you order yours if I may ask? Just on their website? And what about the warranty? Is there any? Does it also have the capability to store other altcoins such as IOTA, XEM, etc? Thank you in advance!

I just went to trezor.io and went through the regular order process on their website.  I paid with bitcoin, and entered my address in the Philippines.

From what I've been able to find, the trezor has a 2 year consumer warranty.

https://shop.trezor.io/static/shared/warranty-refund-policy.pdf

The trezor stores several different coins;  not only bitcoin.  It stores:  Bitcoin, Bitcoin-Cash, Litecoin, Dash, Zcash, Ethereum, Ethereum-Classic, and Ethereum ERC20 tokens.  The Ethereum, Ethereum-Classic, and ERC20 support is through myetherwallet.com that has trezor support.

I hear NEM/XEM support is being worked on, but it's not available right now.

I don't have any experience with the Ledger Nano S.  I looked into getting one but they were back-ordered too far out, and the shipping cost to the Philippines is really expensive.

I just checked again, and the Ledger Nano S is back-ordered almost a month, and the shipping to the Philippines is almost as much as the device.  58 EUR for the Nano S and 57.67 EUR for shipping (total 115.67 EUR).

Other than that, I have nothing against the Nano S.  But I like the trezor better (just my preference).

The Trezor shop made some changes recently.  The trezors are priced in Euros now instead of USD, and they're accepting credit cards in addition to bitcoin.

Also, they're only shipping via DHL.  They removed the postal shipping option.

The trezor is 89 EUR and the DHL shipping is 26 EUR (total 115 EUR).

I just ordered a second one last week so I'd have a spare.  There's a 4 business day shipping delay currently.  I ordered it on August 7, they shipped it on August 10, and I received it on August 14.  So it took exactly one week from the time I ordered it until I received it.

It came via DHL in an express-envelope and DHL didn't charge me any customs duties.

Clif High's prediction for a high VERI price on July 24th isn't looking so good, perhaps the web bot data actually suggested a strong drop. Sucks for me, I put a lot into VERI this past week.

People who have been buying the VERI tokens that a "hacker" sold on EtherDelta should consider that Reggie may have just lost his financial incentive to continue the project. Then again, what else would Reggie actually do after investing so much into this? We'll soon see the core of his passions by whether he endures.

Hmm, what kind of organization would have the ability to hack 2FA twice? Who would have the incentive to slam VERI just a day before high price expectations set by Clif? It seems an individual hacker would have waited a day in case of higher prices (assuming that he/she follows Clif High). It seems a corporate or government agency would have the most incentive to slam VERI a day before high expectations. I do not presume that any government actually works for our interests, neither collective nor individual. May this be designed as yet another excuse for our masters to crack the whip for more regulation of our affairs "for our own good"?

Another possibility should also be considered. Do we know if Reggie actually had more than hopes and dreams to sell us? We might not know because only people that signed an NDA were allowed to know the details. A scenario that investigators must consider is that Reggie invented a hacker story for a token liquidation, tax write off, and reasonable excuse to exit the project. Which erc20 wallets use 2FA? Why wasn't Reggie using a hardware wallet for amounts so great? Hopefully Reggie didn't pull a Danny Brewster (NEOBEE) on us as he joins his relatives in Jamaica with couple million worth of crypto. Such concerns come from painful experience.

Andreas Antonopoulos is one of a couple advocates of NEOBEE that lost some credibility when Danny Brewster had lied and disappeared. I wonder if Clif High, Bix Weir, and Joe (jsnip4) will likewise lose followers from this. The Populous token already lost a lot of value along with VERI. The elevated prices of many markets could be affected by this theft. Confidence has been shaken.

I suppose one positive is that more VERI would actually circulate if the project endures.

Clif's twitter prediction was simply "... 'good news' for @veritaseum on/about the 24th!"  (give that +/- 3 days).

18K tokens out of 100M is a drop in the bucket.  It sucks, to be sure, but hardly a significant impediment to the project.

Hopefully the perpetrator will be tracked down and punished.

Hi

I'm old long-term holder of ultracoin since 2014 , i checkout ultracoin price now in 2017 it worth nothing but some cents  Cry  , do i have any coins to claim in Veritaseum ?
if yes how ?

Contact Veritaseum (try Masiah), so they can help you convert the old tokens to VERI.

I'm so confused right now , are there 2 ultracoin ?

this is the one i had my funds on

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/ultracoin/

http://www.presstab.pw/phpexplorer/UTC/address.php?address=UZGS7VxxAuHB8vcn9pbVRKSKJFSzm7akRh

Yes, Veritaseum's old coin was Ultra-Coin, no relation to the ultracoin that you linked to.

If you had the old Veritaseum Ultra-Coin, it could be converted to the new VERI tokens.

Too bad--it looks like the non-related ultracoin is worth about 1 cent, vs. Veritaseum which is around $200.

Can you tell us when the ETH rate for $1 per token will be locked-in?  Will it be the same for the pre-sale and the main ICO, or will it depend on the ETH value at the time of each offering?

Just thinking, if the ETH rate per token isn't locked in, pre-sale buyers may be at a disadvantage if the ETH rate per token is more favorable during the ICO.  Thanks.

As it was shared before, we have 10% of tokens bonus during the pre-sale. At the main token sale there will be nice opportunity to buy PRO tokens without minimum limit of the amount for a purchase. There will be only a maximum limit of 500K of tokens per one buyer.

Thank you for the info.  I must have missed it before.

Is there any discount or bonus during the pre-sale?  It says $1 per token.  Is that cheaper than what it will be during the main ICO?

When people wake up and understand the true global ramifications, Bitcoin will seem like the wheel. Right under their noses comes to mind.
Agree and with two Global Stock exchanges in partnership parity with ether is easily obtained. 1/1 in Year One!

In Year Two, I'm thinking parity with bitcoin.

I do not believe Veritaseum and Populous are competitors at the moment because they both provide similar service but cater to different products.

Both are outstanding black guys. If they can both grow big together and ultimately maybe do some joint venture or partnership together, then this would be some mega stuff.
I believe that wasn't the question. I think the question is, could VERI perform the same function as PPT?

I've been thinking more about this (whether Veritaseum could technically perform the same function as Populous).

Veritaseum can tokenize all sorts of different assets.  I can't see any reason why Veritaseum couldn't be used to tokenize invoices.  If Reggie wanted to do this, I don't see any reason why he couldn't.

Remember, Reggie Middleton is a badass.  He's the Elon Musk of the FinTech world.  Just like Elon might wake up one morning and decide to dig holes under Los Angeles and the next day you'll see huge boring machines outside his building.  If Reggie decides he wants to eat Populous' lunch, I'm pretty sure he'll just do it.

I can't find information about how much ETH devs wanna collect during ICO and why ICO will last 3 months? During 3 months price of ETH can change from 100 to 500$, it's strange, but main project looks good, looks like devs don'r wanna take a lot of hype want to work quietly.

The price of ethereum is not a problem as if the price of ethereum will increase then this coin will also go precious which is making this coin more better for us as within the time of ICO the price of it will increase. The early investors in this way will earn a profit faster then lateral investors.

Hm, i think if Eth price go lower, projects like Dimcoin can collect more eth coinsand can reach more marccap . it's not very good for pump. But if final cap will be less than 10m$ - it's ok. The more capitalization - the more difficult to move the price.

i agree with you, also i think high ethereum price is not good for Project like DImcoin who's use Ethereum platform. Although I think the most stable is the Ethereum price

Dimcoin doesn't use the Ethereum blockchain, it uses the NEM blockchain.

I know there are potentially a lot of different things that the Veritaseum platform could be used for in the future.

I wonder if the sort of invoice buying & selling that Populous is planning to do, is also something that Veritaseum could do?  Not that they're planning on going into that market, but I wonder if it would be technically possible.  Competition.

I'm sure this will be sorted out soon.
And you can verify the file integrity with NEM Apostille Cool

I downloaded the latest release from github here instead.

More FUD about something Reggie has already answered

"Now... it was stated earlier that they can move it to a diiferent chain, if they can great because I think they won't have choice soon. Again, IMHO."

Veritaseum is platform agnostic per CEO Reggie Middleton

End of discussion .... oh in my fn humble opinion lol

Anything else Activity 2 Newbie?

Not only that, but remember, Veritaseum was already running on the Bitcoin blockchain/sidechain before this.  It's now being ported to run on the Etherium blockchain.

The previous beta Veri app was running on a sidechain? and not the mainchain? are you sure about that?

That was during it's "Ultra-Coin" days.  I'm not sure of all the technical details, but as I understand it, it did use bitcoin.  Was there a sidechain?  That, I'm not sure.  I'm thinking there must have been something to encapsulate all the different aspects of what the software does, that would ultimately be confirmed on the bitcoin blockchain.  Maybe somebody who is more familiar with it would know more.  You can check these links for some more info.

minimum cap is $8mil
maximum is $56mil

Of course it's very interesting project. But for long time. 7-10 years maybe. It's very hardly implements all ideas. So i think you shouldn't buy tokens on ico if you want make some x'es after ico. Sure, $0.1 for token looks very attractive, but it's necessary to see for cap.

7-10 years Huh I am not agree with you..   Sooner or later we will see result of effort. You need to buy tokens before ico of "x" coins to make profit both from deposit  bonus and sales after getting listed on big  exchanges.

I would hope there would be incremental effort made earlier.  But the "20/30" movement/company that is behind this is named that because they hope to bring the vision to the world by 2030.

Goodluck cracking an AES-256 7zip file with a long password  Wink

They will die trying.  Cheesy

Edit:
Nevertheless, my point is that we don't really need any hardware wallet (or any expensive 3rd party wallet) when we can create our own inexpensive cold storage in password-protected .rar files burned in high quality DVDs from a formatted forever-offline computer.

Why go through all that trouble when you can secure it with something that is more secure and convenient and costs only €89?

I would also strongly recommend the Trezor.  So cheap compared to what it's protecting.

It's not just about the encryption, but keeping it physically isolated (all the key-signing happens on the separate Trezor hardware).
