I think it's ISIS that are dropping the oil prices, last I heard they were selling for like $20 a barrel.

I agreed with you. ISIS plays a great role in low prices of oil.

http://www.zdnet.com/senator-tom-coburn-agrees-that-bitcoin-is-not-legal-currency-7000036169/

Apparently this genius claims btc is not a currency because its not produced by the us treasury.
So according to his logic, the british pound and the euro are not legal currencies and no US firm should accept them.

The IRS also said that virtual currency is not to be treated as legal-tender currency to determine if a transaction causes a foreign currency gain or loss under U.S. tax law.

Re: The future of Bitcoin
by

Bitcoin is a game changer, but we’re not thinking big enough. In fact, we’re losing our message. At this point, I’m going to divide the flock. There are two kinds of people who want Bitcoin to succeed and in these two groups success is measured very differently.

The Bitcoin community has become so absorbed in the price of Bitcoin that it’s all we focus on, and it’s all we talk about. Will the price go up or down? Will losing support at $350 cause a crash and spell the doom of Bitcoin? We rally when we hear Paypal will start accepting Bitcoin payments, and we shout rhetoric’s and make claims that the price of Bitcoin will reach soaring heights. That we will curb the power of the Federal Reserve and end the era of banking. Without commenting on whether I believe this will or won’t happen, I can safely say that it is a possibility, but it’s such a narrow view of Bitcoin.

Re: How can I earn BTC when people visit my website
by

There are many websites which offer you to earn free Bitcoins. With most of these sites, the concept is that you visit the site and just for looking at it you get a small amount of Bitcoins. The concept has something in common with watching good old free TV. You watch a lot of ads and inbetween you get something you actually want to see, like a film or music clips.

Re: Compared to Bitcoin, gold doesn't seem real...

Gold has proven itself to be one of the most durable substances on earth. It doesn’t degrade. Every ounce of gold ever mined is still around. (Excluding the small portion sent out of orbit) Gold has proven to be truly precious.

Bitcoins can only be destroyed for a brief moment in their creation during mining under unusual circumstances which likely has not happened. But if the hard drive containing the private key is buried in a landfill, those units are forever gone. You could argue that a pirate treasure chest of gold buried on an island beach and long forgotten is the same end. The bitcoin units exist on the public ledger which is copied into the cloud and thousands of hard drives around the world.  We can’t predict what may happen to bitcoin in a few hundred years but for today’s generation, so far so good. But because bitcoin is officially an experiment, we’ll have to give this one to gold.

Apple’s decision to get involved in the payment processing industry will certainly have repercussions for Bitcoin.Apple is beating bitcoin in terms of the customer experience. Its ecosystem is exceedingly user friendly and customer focused.

Many prominent Bitcoin developers are actively in collusion with members of law enforcement and seeking approval from government legislators. We believe this is not in Bitcoin users’ self-interest, and instead serves wealthy business interests that make up the self-titled Bitcoin Foundation.
I agreed with you.

Bitcoin has been in the news a ton and it's possible to mine it on your Mac. But unless you purchase dedicated mining hardware (which is expensive) Bitcoin mining isn't cost-effective. A better choice is Litecoin.

Re: About smart phone wallets..

Personally making use of MyCelium on Android (No iOS app yet). The new HD version was released this past week.

Tried many others but settled on MyCelium as I like what it offers.

In regards to safety..... They all say their wallets are safe and maybe they are. I would however have sleepless nights with all my coins lying in a phone wallet. I never keep more than around 0.5 in my phone wallet. Rest is kept offline and moved to the phone as required.
I agree with you. Mycelium is a good application.

Blockchain.info and Coinbase both make it extremely easy to make a paper wallet, but if you would prefer to not depend on them, bitaddress.org makes it easy to set up a paper wallet that you can add money to.

Once your bitcoins are in a secure paper wallet, you can hide them away somewhere (just don't forget where) and your coins will be completely safe. Even better, by using the paper wallet's public key, you can continue to accept payments and add more Bitcoins into your account.
