Re: Are you buying bitcoins? Why?
by
dawnpot
on 24/12/2016, 08:27:15 UTC
Currently I will buy because the price graph of bitcoin resembles the situation preceding the great price increase of 2013 a great deal. Bitcoin had recovered from the first price bubble of 2011 and stabilized. Then we saw the largest price increase to date when bitcoin increased from 13.5$ in the beginning of 2013 to an impressive high of over 1100$ in December 2013. The price development of bitcoin has repeated a similar pattern many times. That does not prove the same pattern will repeat in the future but it does increase the likelihood of it happening again. The price graph now is very similar to what it has been right before the large price increases in the past. This is quite interesting and makes me believe in buying more.

Re: Is investing in mining still worth it?
by

Bitcoin mining is still profitable but the global hashrate is floating around its all-time high. The biggest factors determining profitability are equipment costs, the price paid for electricity and the value of the bitcoin you mine. Technically, it is profitable to mine. But you have to leave the bitcoins you mine in bitcoin, rather than convert them to dollars, because only an increase in the price of bitcoin will ever allow me to recoup your initial capital outlay. So just take it as an educational hobby, not a business.

Re: Is Bitcoin still suited to low amount transactions?
by
dawnpot
on 23/12/2016, 08:13:00 UTC
Dust and super small transactions should be pushed to an altcoin, there is no reason to keep them on Bitcoin and pay fees higher than what you are sending to get it through in a decent amount of time.
actually what for sending a little amount?
i will stick to keep using bitcoin no matter how small the transaction it is (a reasonable transaction of course)
altcoin are not as popular as bitcoin , that is the problem ,
0.001 the lowest transaction i usually do and i think it is a reasonable amount instead 0.0001 or so.

Yes the processing fees are negligible; almost 0% processing fees.

I'm still optimistic that it will pump up to $1000 before anything else, so I'll keep buying so long as it's below $1000 and sell after it crosses the $1000 mark.

Bitcoin is independent of trump so I doubt if his impact is in a way going to affect bitcoins prices.

Re: The best traders in the world – what they have in common
by
dawnpot
on 22/12/2016, 12:45:09 UTC
Well, I've catalogued a few point that I think are common amongst successful traders and I find that a part of me because I've also been trading for the past 28 months and have been quite successful:

1. discipline: the ability to recognise when a trade is wrong and therefore minimise losses.
2. Risk control: having a strong understanding of a trade's risk/reward.
3. Courage: the willingness to be different from the rest of the crowd, most of the time.
4. Right judgements: judging how perceptions are shaping market trends.

Re: What are the main problems bitcoiners face?

For me the problem has to do with global acceptance and we'll get there one day. It needs to be accepted by world governments in order to erase the fear of usage from non users.

Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL)
by

on 22/12/2016, 12:10:56 UTC
I did not find Liverpool match. And in other games my predictions is.
First game Arsenal have a chance to win this game. And other teams are Chelsea and Leicester and Man United.
I have doubt in Man United they are not showing 100% performance in this season. Let's see who will win.

Liverpool vs Stoke on 27th December, I know this because I'm going with my brother. Comfortable home win by the way Wink

Yeah, I'm pretty sure about that; we need the 3 points and we hope Chelsea might slip for us to close the gap. We'll never walk alone!!!

Re: For the benefit of trader

I have been trading forex for the past 8years, my experience is that; money management is best principles trader has to learn I mean a must learn if he what to succeed in trading. Money management principle make me see forex trading as a business and not gambling or lottery. More so money management in trading take fears and emotions out of trading. My question is  what are your best strategies of forex trading.

That's absolutely correct and I'd like to chip this in,  money management doesn’t just involve risking an appropriate amount on everytrade. It also involves managing a winning trade from start to finish. This is an important part of any good trading methodology th at is often overlooked by beginning and expert traders alike.

Good but you've got to do something about the payments, it's too little; maybe 1000 satoshis would have been better than this 300

I bet to differ and the opposite is rather the case.  I think you need to qualify your "believers" so that we draw the distinction because there are self acclaimed "believers" who are not genuine.

Oh so the one looking for the loan is already having a negative red trust after an hour of opening his account. This sucks! Guess it's a big mistake to deal with new accounts on this forum.

Re: You should never trust banks
by
dawnpot
on 22/12/2016, 10:12:47 UTC
Comparatively bitcoin has proven to be better than banking; and on that note I would say it's fair not to trust the banks because access to banks and credit cards are entirely at the discretion of the banks. There are over a billion people in the world who don’t have access to a bank account. Other people are flat out rejected from opening an account. Opening a bank account or applying for a credit card requires filling out long forms and signing contracts that never work in your favour. Bitcoin is free to use and accessible to anyone without limitations.

Secondly, When you keep your money stored with a bank you are at their mercy. There are several examples of people unjustly having their banks levied. Recently, governments around the world are being forced to implement bail-in policies. Bail-ins prop up failing banks by going after bond holders and uninsured deposits. With Bitcoin, as long as you keep your private keys secure from hackers then nobody can touch your money. All coins are locked on the public ledger and private keys determine ownership. There are now private keys based on 24 randomly generated words that you could memorize and store without a trace.
