Where will GPU's go next?
by
daytrader420

As the title says, I am just curious where the GPU's will go next.
I remember when ASIC's started hitting the BTC market, and GPU's made a slow transition from BTC to LTC.
Now that Scrypt ASIC's are arriving, I am curious where everyone thinks will be the next big thing for GPU's.

Personally, I think something like VertCoin or something along those lines would be good, since it's scrypt with an adaptive n factor.
But perhaps some new algorithm altogether will take over. I think it would be cool if it was something like XPM, but that seems losing some steam and value lately.

I'd like to think after scrypt asic's are in full effect and pushing GPU's out of the network, well I hope that all GPU miners can unite and support something like LTC was supported by the GPU community after SHA256 asic's took over.

If you have any thoughts on what might be worth taking a good look at, please post here, I'm interested in learning more without reading about 10,000 different alt's.

The network hashrate has dropped from 5gh/s from the beginning, as well as the difficulty has crumbled.

Dev's dumped their COYE and services now too.

So yea, I would say this is blowing up. But in a different manner.

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Electrum - Lightweight Bitcoin Client
by

I'm having a major issue. With about 30 BTC in my electrum client, I am getting 'transaction rejected' messages trying to send any amounts to another address.

Do I even have access to these funds anymore?

Please see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=271761.0

Update: Problem was solved some days ago, sorry for not reporting that sooner.

Seemed my local client deemed one of my wallets as unspent while I had actually sent a transaction.

I'm assuming, as I was trying to resend a payment, my local wallet tried using the 'unspent' portion which was actually already 'spent' by a smaller, 0.6 btc transaction.
Even though I had sent the transaction earlier with the client, the client wasn't showing the updated balance but, returned me a txid.

Anyway, after misc tinkering/upgrade and backing up seed/wallet a few times.

Seems it finally updated.. Perhaps it was an issue with server.. I've never seen it before though and I've held up to 100 btc electrum before so it was weird.

Not sure if this is what I just encountered, but I'm having same problems?

Well I don't have any newly generated coin.

But I still get same TX rejected' error.

Not sure what is going on, it's the same for all servers I try.

I was using the 1.6.1 version for a while, but I'm getting same errors there.

Now I tried merging to 1.8.1, but I'm getting same errors as mentioned above.

The weird thing, is I was able to send transactions earlier today; now all are getting rejected.

I backed up electrum.dat in folder before I ran new version.. Is there anyway to recoup my money?

Hoping my impatience for not wanting to wait for teh block chain didn't come back to bite me.

Please help me if you can, thanks.

Any advice? Thank you.

what are you thinking about the multipool.in system (automatically switch to the most profitable network)

Quote
(MP) PXC   325.2 MH/s   0h4m   0.00049   2.49

there is more than 300 Mh/s joining pxc network each time PXC become the most profitable coin in there list.

And these 300Mh/s leaves at block retarget.

Do you think is it bad for altcoin ? I think it is.

Iamatrix told he's working on the new PXC wallet and an improved retarget too.
He's close to a 48 hour deadline now, so I think he's very busy  Grin
Is there something wrong with retargetting? It seems stuck on 10.08 for a while now :s.

I think it isn't stuck, it was at 5.6 yesterday, but a lot of hashpower (multipool.in) drove it back to 10.
LTC difficulty is >950 right now, I think difficulty follows price, so difficulty will go up. Smiley
The difficulty isn't relative to price; It's relative to how many blocks are being found within X time frame.

Sorry, I didn't notice that it wasn't stuck, just lately everytime I check it seems same difficulty.

Under Attack Again Under Attack Again (http://forum.feathercoin.com/index.php?topic=2847.0)

The type of attack is messing the stats. Don't trust them.

Sounds legit.

Multiple forks of FTC.

Seems a lot of haters really want to try to bring it down.

With an active dev team I don't think it will go down so easy.

Who said that they will launch something regarding PXC? UNOCS is 3 currencies, it as well might be something for WDC or FTC

My own opinion is that it will be something for FTC
My own opinion is that you've read nothing about UNOCS or done any research at all.

Perhaps you missed the part where all 3 dev's of each PXC,FTC, and WDC, all confirmed they are working together as a group on this UNOCS project.

All of these alt's have promising future, and will benefit eachother rather than the rest of these alt's which flop due to lack of support.

Sorry I misread OP.

I would do what the guy above said, put your spare CPU's to (XPM) Primecoin.

It is from the same dev as PPCoin !

Your block erupters will only work for SHA256, that means you are limited to some of these cryptos: (or more)
PPCoin (I like this sha256 alt, and their dev is super awesome)
Terracoin
Freicoin
IXCoin [merged*]
Devcoin [merged*]
NameCoin [merged*]

*Merged to bitcoin blockchain, you can mine them in addition to bitcoins.
(it's like getting a few % profitability extra, free)

I see it jumping up to 800GH then back to 60GH  what is going on with FTC atm?

Estimates are varying too much. It could be a bug, it shows that network has 25 gh/ right now for me.

Normally when it's ahead on profitabiliy, it doesn't go higher than 10 gh/s.

My guess is, something is either wrong, or people are super lucky finding blocks on FTC right now.

All of us big holders should add up what we have and see what percentage of PXC we have  Smiley i would say there are over  20 holders that have 50k+  Smiley

I've got about 60k, holding for the long run.

PXC held onto value there during/after that dump. It's still higher than it was a week ago, even after someone dumped 40k yesterday.

I think the success of PXC (or any alt-coin) plays a major factor in it leading into larger exchanges.

Also, the market cap is a big factor.

PXC's has grown and I believe will only continue to do so both as new coins are minted and value continues to go up.

I don't know if PXC is ready for larger exchanges just yet, but I think it is inevitable.

Well only a 6 or 7 people have that many PXC, and no way are we selling without the use of PhenixST. I hope you know that. If you're planning a scam, you're wasting your time.

True, PXC staff provided a good service for escrow.

They are super helpful and friendly. When I've messed up some orders in the past, up to 30k PXC worth, the staff was super helpful and friendly to resolve it.

I'm still holding, maybe not near the amount you're talking about but I have atleast half that.

Even more, I regret selling the amount of PXC that I have.

this LTC adress don't even exist in the chain so this is false

If I am not mistaken, that's his refund address?

If he did get scammed, wouldn't it make sense that maybe a fresh address hasn't been used (or refunded) yet?

If admins working on phenixst.com can please fix my 18K PXC refund, would appreciate it.

I posted some details a while back about it, but I've been too busy to be on the forums/or to fix it.

Also I understand the dev's are always super busy.

There's 4 tx's

e194125a1f2640e3e0741dd9f583ae3a0a5ccf4924fcceed985a03249675d6d9
e187f45de688ec45b02cebb27b09ffdde626e85e9ad89afc4356bb5b6594c296
020d0498fe09f929ec293dceef3c32054d27d6b9690cc7611e221a15df1a802f
042035c2b7029db5caff392f31d16ba091d628c515bf9021c6dcbe0d8b7e19fa

For 18k total. The weird thing is , I got a tx-id on the refund address, but not on the new transaction.

Sorry about the troubles, if there was a way to modify the order I would have done that, I suppose I done something wrong though.
