Accept Credit Card payments for bitcoins.

The buyer would get their bitcoins at the price at the time of purchase, but they could not spend them until 6 months have passed (the time needed to avoid chargebacks).

I don't see any benefits in this... 6 months! That's a very very long time.

Re: [30-12-2013]- RBI: No move to regulate ''phoney'' Bitcoins
by

This article provides great insights about the current stand of the authorities in India regarding bitcoin. However the situation is still very confusing for Indian bitcoin traders. I mean money laundering is a very serious offense in India and some bitcoin traders were booked under that. So what guidelines should a person follow here in India to buy and sell bitcoins so that the whole business remains completely legal?

Which India trader was booked under ML charges?

I think the initial news about raids at Mahin Gupta's offices mentioned that ML connections are also being investigated, and some other stuff like he was using fake company address for the transactions.

fake addy was a rumor.. The rest as you have mentioned was just about 'being investigated'. No charges from what I hear from a very very reliable source..

That's a good news mate.

I think its time that some RTI applications should be filed to get answers to the questions raised in this article. It will also help to get ED's official statement which can be produced in the court latter.

Link to ED's RTI information page- http://www.enforcementdirectorate.gov.in/rti_info.pdf

This is just terrible.

Obama's drone program is one the most cowardly and disgusting things this world has ever seen.

I would have agreed but its not just Obama to be blamed but presidents before him too. Drones are really the most coward weaponry to be used at war. The government won't have anyone to answer while killing, as there will be never an American life lost at war using drones.

The world expects more from the US. But I think its not the American people but just the capitalists controlling the decisions.

Re: Value of Alternative Cryptocurrencies
by

on 30/12/2013, 12:22:06 UTC
The value is determined by the prices that the coin sells at on whatever exchanges that it sells on. I don't think there is any coin whose value is fixed to another currency.

As for what factors affect the value of a coin, the answer depends on the coin. For example, the value of Quark was supported by exposure (pumping, perhaps) by Max Keiser and Bill Still. The value of Dogecoin is a result of the humor associated with the meme.

A lot of good points here. I think the fall in price of the primary crypto currency- bitcoin definitely works as a powerful factor increasing prices of other alternate currencies like litecoin.

Ebay is a bitch, you can't really be sure what they won't do and what they would. Try LocalBitcoins.com to sell BTC. Its a huge market place with far less risk than ebay.

Re: Is it possible to do Arbitrage?

Hello everyone ,I would like to know that is it possible to do arbitrage with Indian exchanges. And is there anyone who is profiting from bitcoin arbitrage?

I think BTC robot runs on the principle of arbitrage. Dont know if they covered India based exchanges, though all of them are now suspended.

I don't think that there are any real BTC exchanges in India. They are websites allowing manual buy/sell of BTC. And recently most of these sites suspended their services, after an RBI guideline which was followed by some inquiries and raids by ED officials.

I agree that Indian government doesn't realize the full potential of bitcoin yet. But some guys here on this thread need to do their homework before expressing facts about India. They remind me of few primary school kids I met in the US who used to believe that people in India use elephants instead of cars.  Grin

It won't be wise to invest in bitcoin to double or triple your money. Its highly volatile till now and word governments are still suspecting it.

Re: Cheap Bitcoins

I found a website http://btcsale.tictail.com that sells bitcoins on the cheap. Brought 25 bitcoins for them for about $20,000 took about a day to get them then I sold them immediately and made roughly $1,000 profit. I have no idea why they are being sold cheap, I was a bit sceptical at first but it panned out.

If anyone else has other sites that have cheap bitcoins I'd love to know about them.

Clear cut scam. You must be an idiot if you think anyone will believe you here.

Ban this donkey.

Rs 20-30 crore spread over 400 people! That's kind of extremely huge transactions. I hope he was not actually involved in money laundering. The average user's transaction comes down to Rs 750,000. I don't think transactions like these will get ignored by banks in India.

You can always reformat the computer, right?

Yes. But what if your personal files are seized and you can't use them?
If you are an idiot and not only you caught a virus but also you didn't backup your "epic important personal files" then please stop using a computer because you are clearly unable to use one. You are doing more damage than good.
This said, please arrest who mine iron: it is used to produce guns that kill people.

You are right. Ignorant computer users are the cause of widespread DDOS and virus attacks. I think the first thing these people should do is learn about same basic computer security than creating a facebook profile to get chicks. Cheesy
