Sure, ethereum is a great platform from which to build. Alot of thought has went into it and goes into it. So there are a few things we wanted to change.
We changed the following...
- blockreward - genesis block - diff retargeting divisor - higher max gas - slower blocktime to make mining more efficient, will be lowered once a solid PoS solution is created.
We are taking a more modular approach that is loyal to only the best solutions. Currently the best solution is near vanilla ethereum, but in the future that might not always be the case. Especially with new and competing system being developed, like hyperledger.
The stack basically looks like this. From top to bottom.
DAPPS - mostly done in javascript Solidity - for writing contracts EVM - the ethereum virtual machine Proof of Work - consensus mechinism Distributed Ledger Local storage
Alot of these pieces can be swapped out. For instance, Do we always want proof of work? Or maybe DPOS might be good, or maybe something new that hasnt been invented yet. What about the the virtual machine, why not use docker or unikernels also?
Thank you

Re: [ANN] Expanse (EXP) - Fair Launch, No ICO, Community DAO, based on Ethereum
I have noticed that http://bchain.info/SLM has stalled. I have written the site owners, perhaps they can restart the daemon, so we have a working block explorer again. Actual block height should be above 562700. Slimcoin.club, unfortunately, has not returned, but the domain still is registered until July 2016.
Note: when I type "slimcoind getpeerinfo" I get some peers stalled around block height 555000 (particularly 555099 and 555106).
I run the block explorer bchain.info, and the client I used for slim was outdated. Just updated to a new version, once its synced the explorer will be working again.

Re: [ANN] - NEW BURST OP - MINE WITH YOUR HDD - ATs, AE, P2P MARKETPLACE, and MORE!
emmm need to find all the drives I can find. I do have a bunch of flash drives that are 64GB 2.0s
Question,
Is each plot specific to each hard drive or can I move a plot from a drive to another drive?
When creating plot files you pick a range of nonces for it. Each nonce can only be used once per block, using it twice will give you the same results, therefore no advantage.
You can copy the plots just like any other file. What drive or medium its stored on also does not matter

Re: [ANN] - NEW BURST OP - MINE WITH YOUR HDD - ATs, AE, P2P MARKETPLACE, and MORE!
Can confirm that USB3 drives (I run almost my entire 70+ TB on USB with individual ports on internal controller cards in a rackserver.) run just as well as internal drives do. Though, I've not really tested them when running via a USB3 hub. Mine all run on direct ports via USB3 controller SATA cards, or on the board's controller directly.
Mining with USB drives is perfectly fine, even multiple USB 3-Drives on a hub will perform well. It all comes down to linear read speed:
For each TB of plots 256MB of data need to be read, per block. As each block lasts 240 seconds on average there's plenty of time for it, even USB 2.0 drives perform okay.
Here you can see how read speed affects your effective capacity (on a 4TB drive)
I put in 2 lines for typical USB2/3 drives, however, total USB3 capacity on a hub is a lot higher.
hello guys , anyone in here know masternode reward ? some day ago i see in here , but i forget the link , If I am not mistaken , this link or image from excel . thanks..
I hope this right
Seems right. Thats about the amount I get with my masternodes. I wonder why there aren't any more masternodes. You can double your coins in under 2 months, with virtually no risk
