i'd say decent. they are actually disrupting the drm domain as far as i know.
stratis seems solid since its a realworld company connecting both worlds... but there are several like that.

then there are a whole lot of bitcoin 2.0 chains all having already solved bitcoins shortcomings but none of them seems to get real traction.
seems like bitcoin with its shortcomings, although actually being tackled this month just has the best PR bitcon can buy so no reason that would really change..

gamecredits has a cool concept and could be a candidate for world domination when it comes down to in app/game purchases.

lbry/ steem seems interesting but still lack any real headlines.

what i mean to say is that you just should classify every coin in its own respective field of play and then you are left with ordering them with a simple formula like potential value + actual momentum created so far + trust

so e.g.:
pure payment/transaction systems:
- bitcoin, litecoin, zcash, monero, ripple, dash ...

alernative proof of X solutions
 - burst, ...

Smart contract/ framework systems:
 - eth, lisk...

Content distribution/ social media systems:
- steem, lbry, decent, ...

asset tracking systems:
- iconomy, melonport, ...

blockchain integrators:
- stratis, bancor, ...

data storage
 - sia, storj, maidsafe ...

prediction markets
 - gnosis, augur

distributed computing
 - golem, gridcoin, ...

venture capitalism
- vslice, tha dao, ...

iot blockchain
 -  slockit?, ...

in-software purchases
 - gamecredits, ...

Scientific Learnings of World for Make Benefit Glorious Race of Humanity
 - curecoin, foldingcoin

tipping/rewarding systems
 - dogecoin, ...

so that.

anyone care to improve on this basic draft?

Yet, I can't find any source on the internet where overclockers or gamers are having the same problems as miners. The cards only seem to break down with mining...

Is that just because mining is more intensive or is there more too it?

true... i tried to look for it too.

somehow it is not a overclocking problem...

if i have the card without any overclocking and just set Intensity to for example 20 than i get crashes although according to the guy who wrote cgminer Intensity is not an overclocking setting i think:

Intensity is the amount of work in one go the GPU has to do before it can return its results. It needs to be large enough to keep the device fully utilised yet not so overloaded that the device becomes unresponsive. The faster the GPU, the higher the sweet spot is. Ram is of no use to mining whatsoever. They could even mine fine with only a few MB of ram.

no.. this has nothing to do with temperature...

i think reading through this thread that there is enough evidence that sapphire shipped a whole batch of faulty cards somewhere at the beginning of this year.

wish i had found this thread earlier..

i started out with 3 XFX cards but then read somewhere that sapphire cards are supposed to be the 'quality' brand so i bought an additional 6 sapphire's 7950 dual-x cards

already 5 of those 6 cards are fried in no less than 3 weeks

sku: 11196-19-20g
pn 299-1e249-100sa
all serial numbers between: A135100029900 - A135100030500

first  i suspected the risers...  but then it also happened to those plugged in directly to mobo..
so then i suspected the motherboard (asrock H81 BTC) but then it also happened with a gigabyte GA-Z87X-OC ..

i also have 3 XFX cards and although they get really hot they work flawless from day 1 in any of those mobo's so conclusion is that the sapphire videocards are flawed..
