I've seen some ico which paid bounties in btc only, SDI there was no need for conversion. (Can't remember names.)
Probably, iconomi wasn't aware of so many bounty hunters wanting btc before launch.

If you want to make a purchase of more than 20 btc , then you can contact Iconomi, and you can buy ICNs. There is no option for buying smaller amounts on iconomi.
But, if you could gather a group collectively wanting more than 20 btc, Jani could process your buying request too.
By the way, not many ICNs would be for sale. And also there are many investors who have already contacted iconomi

I have some good news for ICN and some bad news for us. We already gathered the 20 btc. I had someone send me a PM offering 10 btc.
In the meantime, I received a message from the Support team. Here's what they say:

Let's be 100% damn clear, we do not know who is behind RocketCoin and we strongly advise all of you DO NOT SUPPORT ROCKETCOIN AT ANY COST. That should be enough to tell you who's behind it. As for "adjed" and his little offer, let him propose and let his "team" take over Astrocoin. There is nothing stopping him. Instead of making empty challenges and propositions, perhaps "adjed" should consider PM us?

Someone should setup a script and post it that monitors the pre-mine addresses :

If that can be done I would feel safer. Everyone here has been burned by pre-mined coins.

well... why wouldn't he just wait till "midnight 25th of March 2014" and dump it right at the time when everyone would pump because of "successful" arrival at "airdrop" point? I have been using btc-e and cryptsy for a long time now.
I have had no problems whatsoever.
Btc is a bit shady in that the team remains fairly annonymous. de site works great though. even when it is crowded.
With cryptsy you have a somewhat lagging site, but you know who owns it.
