you can keep your ripples online with some trusted sites including; bitterex.
the dev team now has a desktop wallet  as well
link to download the wallet:https://rippex.net/carteira-ripple.php#/

What is the connection between the Ripple developers and this wallet?

Is there a technical reason why the devs can't develop a desktop wallet?

No. I would be mostly non technical: regulation and the possibility that man with guns come to shut them down.

Re: [2017-05-22] Shapeshift Launches Decentralized Portfolio Platform Prism

Oh wait, now they changed it to 0% monthly fee until end of beta, where it becomes 1% monthly fee after you're locked in.

They plan to leave the monthly fee up to the market. Until that is implemented the monthly 1% fee is done away with.

ShapeShift provides all the collateralized ETH capital on the Seller side – but in the future, Prism will open up the Seller side, such that Prism customers can take the long or short position on any basket of digital assets.

When this happens, this monthly fee will be set by the market: paid by Buyers to Sellers, or Sellers to Buyers, wherever the equilibrium exists at a given point in time. That was always the long-term plan, so we’ve done away with the arbitrary 1% placeholder in the interim.

Why? There is not going to be a hard fork, so the deal is moot.

Lol ASICBOOST

More than 24 hours have passed since it became clear why the Chinese mining mafia was really supporting Rogercoin.

Still no word from Roger Ver about how 1) he was either played like a fool to help them block Segwit or 2) he was involved in this game to block technical progress for selfish reasons (while pretending to have the moral high ground).

It is starting to sound a lot like the dubious role he had in the MtGox fiasco, assuring people in a video that everything was alright, their money was safe, right before they went dark.

The prerequisite for the deal is a hard fork, which we can now with near certainty predict is not going to happen. So both parties can bluff and pretend to make whatever deal they want, but there will not be any exchange of coins.

If I were Loaded I also wouldn't waste any more time on this, the deal is dead at this point.

Why the hell should he? He said he was ready to roll and that's all he needs to do until the other personage supplies more details. I wouldn't bother to personally satisfy the feverish desires of every reader here either.

Unsurprisingly this sounds like Roger playing the victim to me.

While I think it is weird that Loaded doesn't respond anymore, Roger does not win an award for communication either. If he really is so interested about the crowd's opinion, he could have done so many things to show that he is for real.

Communicate, lay out the rules of the exchange for open discussion, sign a wallet and his intentions, take up bets from other people who also have shown an interest.

Instead he didn't do anything, just saying how busy he is and waiting it out to buy time.

He doesn't have to do anything, those were examples of the part you left out.

He is the one complaining everywhere that people are drawing the conclusion that he has chickened out. Then do something about it I would say.

I still have not received a reply from Loaded, but am eagerly waiting.

"Journalists" and /r/Bitcoin like this one should be ashamed of putting out trash like this:
Roger Ver Has Not Come Through on Deal to Swap 60,000 BTC for BCU Tokens

While you're waiting, why not cut a deal with some of the other people who offered you one?

I agree with Roger. Those journalists have no right to sway the crowd's opinion against Roger or anyone else. Thats very irresponsible of them and dirty.

On the other hand, Roger, listen to some of the people here who want to cut a deal with you. If youre really serious and confident about the chances of BU that is.

Unsurprisingly this sounds like Roger playing the victim to me.

by

At least his approach was pretty straightforward and consequent. Instead of wasting years talking in forums about libertarianism, no government and this kind of things, he went to a place - a kind of "no man's land" - where such a development could eventually take place.

I don't know how close is Rojava to a real libertarian/anarchist society (it seems it's pretty far away actually, mainly due to obligations that rise because of Syria's civil war) but at least, if you have the balls, it's worth a try. And if you can make Bitcoin popular in these places, the better ...

Groups of people fighting for the gun of the state is not the same as a real libertarian/anarchist society with sound moral principles as I imagine it.

Humanity first and desperately needs a new age of enlightenment. People better wake the fuck up from this statist religion before they destroy us all. Or first destroy themselves so the rest can start rebuilding.

Is it possible to move the infantile and useless discussions to another thread, where nobody has to see them?

Re: [2017-03-27]Why the European Union is Against Anonymous Digital Currencies
by
deeplink
on 29/03/2017, 10:56:28 UTC
The EU went on to say:

“The credibility of virtual currencies will not rise if they are used for criminal purposes. In this context, anonymity will become more a hindrance than an asset for virtual currencies taking up and their potential benefits to spread. The inclusion of virtual exchange platforms and custodian wallet providers will not entirely address the issue of anonymity attached to virtual currency transactions, as a large part of the virtual currency environment will remain anonymous because users can also transact without exchange platforms or custodian wallet providers. To combat the risks related to the anonymity, national Financial Intelligence Units (FIUs) should be able to associate virtual currency addresses to the identity of the owner of virtual currencies. In addition, the possibility to allow users to self-declare to designated authorities on a voluntary basis should be further assessed.”

...says the thief.

I know right? How about this:

The EU went on to say:

In addition, the possibility to allow users to self-declare to designated authorities on a voluntary basis should be further assessed.”

...but if you refuse we will fuck up your life.

Roger, I found another offer on Reddit for 500 BTC. Just in case you missed it.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/61zpay/requesting_roger_to_exchange_500_core_for_500/

Requesting Roger to exchange 500 Core for 500 Unlimited

Since it seems there are some issues with the deal with loaded, why not at least trade 500 btc to start with under the same deal? If we can close it for 500 I'm willing to put more later and I'm sure other people will follow.
I encourage everyone that is willing to take the deal with Roger to post a comment with a signed message and the amount they're willing to exchange.

What about the pooled bet? More proper bitcoiners are looking forward to have your coins in exchange of BTU.

Let's see where each of us stand, and who believes what he says.

You can do this at bitfinex.

Won't find anyone so stupid to give me 1:1 in BitFinex. But cheers.

Duh.

Still, 3.5:1 is a very good deal. At HitBTC (don't know if legit) you get 9:1 and even that is too low IMHO

I'm all in.

As long as there is a clause that states you can bailout anytime, just like loaded?

In any situation where there are BTCs and BTUs to swap, I will swap everything into BTC. Is that clear?

BCC/BTC is around 0.75 @ https://www.bitfinex.com/stats

You can effectively swap to 1.33 BCC for every BTC you have right now.

And why would I do that if Ver is giving me a full BTC?

I don't know, maybe because:
A) Ver is not going to make that deal
B) That hypothetical deal would be after the hardfork that will not happen
C) You want to minimize your counterparty risk
D) All of the above.

Nope he is still super busy. Doing podcasts and stuff. No time to spare to make a 130 million USD deal.

Do you really think that the people who bought BTC cheap and held it all these years through the highs and lows were just "lucky"?

Certainly not. The people who bought or mined BTC in the first years were not taken seriously, they were ridiculed, laughed at and told they were crazy to throw away their time and money. Not even one in a million people understood it, but those who did certainly weren't just lucky.

This sounds like a great deal for both of us.  I look forward to ironing out the exact details and terms.  I'm super busy for the next 48 hours,  but would love to connect after that.

You are too busy to make a once in a lifetime deal that will double your stash?!
From what I understand this wouldn't double his stash, lol.

Man, there are some serious whales here.

After a hard fork he would have an equal amount of BTC on both forks. After that happens Loaded offered him to trade up to 130k Unlimited BTC for Core BTC. So Roger would have double the amount of Unlimited BTC and Loaded would have double the amount of Core BTC.
