I have long been an investor in Cachecoin but I am getting a little impatient.  All I read about is mining issues.  I too experienced these and decided to move to Darkcoin a month ago (glad i did).  I'd like to return to Cachecoin but I just don't see the progress.  I might sound like a crone, but i am really just asking for an update on what's going on and what goodies we can expect?  Might I suggest DarkCache? So what separates this from Vertcoin?  It appears to be a direct clone. Not trying to troll.  Just curious, give me you sales pitch.

SlidingHorn, I suggest you just keep quiet for now.  You don't want to become the person known to have caused Lojack to change his mind.

You're all right...how dare I object to my money being stolen and be angry with those responsible.

I'm such a douche.

I agree with u. U are being a douche now. Most of us have moved passed our anger and frustration because we now now what is going on. Nothing like this can be solved immediately. Nothing we can do but wait and ask for updates. If in the end u don't think your balances are what they should be then support will review. You are not the only one affected and your attitude will only bump u lower in the list.

I was on c-cex today and it was absolutely crazy on Darkcoin I think it was just simply too many people putting on trades.

Bought 1000 grid on c-cex to get stash started, now c-cex is down for the count. Any news about that?

They tweeted maintenance... 12+ hours.  The site saw some spikes on Darkcoin trading and got hammered.  Don't know much more than that.

Was there too.  There were a lot of new voices in the chat for sure.  I was at C-CEX from the very beginning.  It is a good exchange, the DEVs work hard and listened to suggestions as they built it up.  I am sure they are trying to get the site back in working order as fast as possible.

I got a free account with microsoft and a free 30 day trial of azure - allows me to run 20 cores (each gets about 33kh/s) and point them at my pool - If a number of others can jump on this then perhaps we could generate some kh/s to offset this whale?

I realize that it will take alot of folks at 660kh/s - but it is something - and it only took me about 30 min to set up...

I may be mistaken, but that Azure free 1 month trial is $200 credit to use up to one month.  If you have 20 cores, sounds like you will burn through the $200 monthly credit very quickly.

MAX coin is the new BITCOIN.

Get real people.

This coin is going to dominate the markets, wake up

Early investors will be RICH in few months.

yeah sure

Your activity is a great example for people who don't know stuff about cryptos.

How are early investors going to be rich ?

This was pumped from the start.  The "early" investors buying at high prices are the same people mining it.  Buying up their own coin to create an artificial price.  Price will drop drastically as the market corrects.

How stupid was I to invest in this crap before doing a solid research..
Very.

Which coin are you talking about, I am beginning to look at CACH as my next investment.  I already offloaded my Vert at spike and am considering buying it all back at near half price.  Which one do you think is crap and what research are you talking about?  The vert premine?
I can't talk for the poster above but I don't believe CACHe is crap at all. It hasn't been marketed the best sure but it's a solid coin in my opinion. I just think the above was stupid to invest in it without doing his own research - as you would be with any coin.

CACHe is on an exchange and it's value is steadily increasing. People are mining it actively so it's far from dead and the community is there.
CACHe has same ideas as Vertcoin: increasing Nfactor to avoid ASIC (actually CACHe is more Anti-Asic than Vertcoin because its Nfactor is increasing faster). But CACHe even more advance than Vertcoin because it's using scrypt-jane: using less power when mining and reward per block is adapted based on nethash, another advantage is POS reward.

Thanks. I am looking for a long-term investment in a scrypt-jane coin for those reasons.  VERT seemed like it was too good to be true so I had to cut out, unfortunately i offloaded most of mine at the 1 USD per coin mark.  That's besides the point.  I am glad CACH has both n-factor and scrypt-jane.  That should do well for longevity.

I have had intermittent success with GPU mining, so I decided to give CPU mining a go this time.  It has been disenchanting.  I am about ready to just stick with BOINC and mine a different coin.  Everything I seem to follow on these threads lead to dead ends.  I have no idea if things are setup correctly.  Running v1.1.5.7-g71-prod, with 24 thread system. BOINC at 100%.  CPU pool mining turned on.  It has been 24 hours and nothing.  Anything wrong with my config?  And what is this Beacon payment i keep hearing about?

Re: Gridcoin (GRC) - first coin utilizing BOINC - Official Thread

I want to post an update for #1 issue.  A simple reboot of my system seemed to work.  Once I did this and fired up Gridcoin qt again my cpu processing power immediately bounce back up to 100%.

i am trying to be an early adopter.  i have a few questions. first of all, i am mining 2 gpus solo with a 12 thread processor.  my average daily credits is 2700 and i have 11 threads devoted to boinc.  my boinc processing power won't go above 65 points.  this has been 100 fairly consistently until i decided to take a few days off with my rig.  i have not had syncing issues so long as i kept up with all the updates and addnodes.  my questions are these:

1. what can cause this to stay at only 65?

2. can someone please explain the scrypt sleep?  does this mean when my sleep is on that my hashing is doing nothing?

3. does closing the mining console have to hide command prompts? i have other things running in command prompt sometimes and these get hidden as well.  it would be helpful if the mining console only hid process that it started.

thanks, and good work so far.

1. How long were you running Gridcoin before you took a break for a few days? The 100% is made up of two things - 50% utilization which you probably have and 50% is total average daily credits which builds up 2-4 weeks. So maybe that few days break brought your average daily credits down.

2. Rob answered this question previously.

3. Try putting closeconhost=false into your gridcoin.con file to prevent it from hiding cmd prompts.

And thanks to you as well.  I will try the setting.  I am sure my average daily credits were at 2,700 still, and all i need is 1,000 for the first 50% gridcoin credit.  The second portion was supposed to be based on the CPU processing power.  I have a six (12 thread) machine and was devoting 10 processing threads to BOINC and left 2 threads for my GPUS and user-interface.  This at one time easily made up the other 50% gridcoin credit, so i was at 100% and getting the full 150 block reward.  I took a break for a few days and now once i started back up, after running for 5 hours.  My total gridcoin credit was only 65%.  Again, my boinc avg daily credit was 2,700.  so 10 cpu threads only accounted for 15 additional %?  As proof, if I pause BOINC processing, my gridcoin credit drops back to 50%.

When the sleep is activated the Gpu will do Boinc work. So that way more is given to science projects.

Scrypt sleep allows our network as a whole to be more efficient.  Sleep causes your GPUs to sleep when your leaderboard sleep level is below the network sleep level.

Team, answer the rest.

Thanks.  I get the idea that it will prevent orphans, but what I don't understand is that when my GPUS are in "Sleep" is that it continues to hash and continues to draw a lot of energy.  Is this true?  I thought the point of Gridcoin was to not be a drain on environment and give miners a reason to hash.  Could it shutdown the miners completely and not draw any power, or this getting a little too complex?   Or am i still missing the point.

Finally, got it. Thanks.

I stopped mining this several days ago.  Since about update 1.5 i stopped finding blocks.  I could not get pool mining to work either.  Before this update I had a Cudaminer that could find blocks and so I pointed my 280x rig to it.  Both my rigs were running 100% boinc.  When I was finding blocks they were proper payout.  I attempted pool mining and got nothing as well.  I will try again soon.

sorry for confusion. meant xp as in experience. that's the gamer in me.  i am running win 8.1 64 bit. i have not tried going back to win 7.

I run my stuff on Win7 64bit, so I do not know how things will behave on XP. Xp is very old so there might be some kind of comparability issues that may be causing such behavior. I suggest you get win 7, you will not have any problems.

I can tell at least in my xp, i have run at 13 i and 8192 tc and still have the issue.  both gpu hang around mid 70c

What intensity and concurrent threads are you running? Also what is the temp of the gpu under load?

I had an issue with scrypt mining on one of the rigs that had 3 7950. I had 4 gig ram and once I upgraded to 6 all gpu were running full speed. I am not sure if that is the same issue as you are having. You can try and it and see if it works.

How much ram does the system have?

Question: I'm hashing with two R9-290 with the guiminer scrypt. The first one (connected with monitor) reaches 840 khs the second without connection to a monitor got only 660 khs. Is that normal?
I'm using the same guiminer settings for both GPU's. Installed catalyst and and SDK only before using the first card. Used to second card just today.

8GB

I see this as well but i am running two 280x with gpu capping at 550 khs while gpu 1 can almost do 700 khs on GRC.  changing intensity seems to make it worse. I have 8 gb ram installed.  i am wondering if gp0 is hindered by windows. i am not a linux guru so all my xp in mining has been windows.  also, i am a newb.
