Bitcoin is very volatile and is very unpredictable. So we must be very careful on our decisions.. we should not also panic when the price is low just like what is happening this week..also we must not be affected by any bad news about it.
But I think it does affect people. Just as much when someone writes "Yippiieeee I made again lots of money thanks to x-coin"
Both good and bad news makes people make up or change their mind.
I think this is natural.
Of course it can go up and down like crazy. Everyone can see the graphs of the past and look up how it went.
Now it went so bad that it is worth to talk about. (Yes, in my HUMBLE noob-opinion)
Some people write "Best to wait", but to be honoust,.... Those who write that cannot bet their lifes on it that it is best to wait
Because if one can be certain that it will go up again (100% !) then everyone could put everything they had in it and make lots of money.
No certainties... at all! That is how I see it.
But that is just my two bitcoincents.

I wonder why people keep writing "if you cant handle it"
If I make a decision to sell, it is not "because I cannot handle it"? I find that conclusion very strange.
But maybe I am interpreting that word combination the wrong way.
To me it sounds like "Ohhhh I cannot take it any more.. my life is going down the drain"
In that context I would write "I cannot handle it any more"
But since English is not my language, I might be wrong here.
So.... I can handle it
I sold Everything. I am still happy. Maybe it was good, maybe it was bad. Time will tell.

Even though it is not always possible to google the answers to all the changes, I think it is still a good idea to TRY to understand why things are happening why they are happening. To make sence of it all in my head.
I am sharing my thoughts because Ithink it is always a good thing to share thoughts and ideas. Even in times when they are not that "welcome".

I actually just did the same thing. I believe also that Bitcoin is for everyone. And as the price of Bitcoin continues to go down I decided to sold everything for a while but will not cash out from my account. I predict that it will go back up soon, hopefully first quarter next year. And probably I would buy bitcoins again when I feel that the time of rising back is coming. That's just how trading works. Even in stocks. Buy low sell high is the basic principle and that's what some did. It is not we do not believe in Bitcoins.

so you can learn from what you did, right? and if you decide to come back into the cryptocurrency again, make sure that you prepare yourself because, in crypto, everything is possible and make sure you know what you should do if you face the same experience. and who knows if you come back, you can be grown than yesterday and you can make a big profit because once we can learn from the experience, we can increase our skill and our knowledge and we will not do the same mistake in the future.

I keep reading about it. Crypto is the best way to transfer money...
It is the things that are related to a/the coin (transaction time, transaction fees, conversion tables, taxes, what kind of wallet, riskfactors, ...) that are quite timeconsuming when you have a fulltime job
That is why I never put so much money in there that I would feel unconfortable.
So even without any profit, I am still smiling.

I think the FUD here are really targeting newcomers. For us, who have been here for so long are not affected by any negative news. Even at the height of China crisis, I didn't blink an eye and just hold on my bitcoin. But today, since the price is dropping at $14K, people panic, someone created FUD forcing newbies to make the hard decisions to sell or incurred lost.
I also sold mine at $19K, everything to be honest. Not because I panic but because I needed the money. But seeing the price today, I will definitely buy bitcoin back again and will HODL on it until such time that I some some emergency situations in my end.
And remember, you will always see people here creating FUD specially when the price is going down. The best thing is to is not to be affected by the negative news, but to keep calm and think of it long term.
That Prepaid.com guy and freight joe and thier newbie accounts been spreading fud for the past 2 weeks. I been calling it out, people are in here trying to cause panic in the bitcoin community, you guys are not fighting enough to report them for spamming useless topics
Yep. I notice that also. Many newbie/low rank account keep spreading FUD news regarding selling BTC since last week and I think many bandwagon holders are now selling because of this FUD. Also, the title of this thread is very misleading. This topic must not be created as well. Why you just reply that post of yours on the thread were you see it since you just reply in the first place?
The mods must ACT now or else this forum will be flooded by FUD news made by group of people that want to destroy BTC and we all know who is them right?
This is actually showing very well why the price is now going into the crash.
People like you are so afraid of negative views that you want to silence people that do not only say the nice things you like to hear. You are afraid the just a few critical words will damage your investment. Well, that shows that you are genuinely afraid that your investment is so weak that it can be blown over by words in a forum. Truly that shows an extremely weak business value.
Basically, anytime someone calls for censorship towards a particular view, it shows they have no arguments and no solid case, and hope that by silencing the critics the problem will go away. It won't.
I agree with you,. We do not want any censorship. Both the good and the bad news should be visible to everyone.
I sure hope that noone lost too much now. And I hope that those who did, can look back at this moment with a smile a few months from now. Or maybe a few days??? Who knows! Anything can happen.
I think you risked a lot by selling everything and buying Bitcoin. Never trust anything 100%. And I pray to god you are not a short termn investor, because hey, your risk increased x10!
Hi there! You misread my first post. I did not sell everything to buy bitcoin (THANK GOD! haha).
I sold all my bitcoins
(Everything = all my bitcoins).With all the transaction fees, exchange fees, conversion fees etc,.. I probably have no loss/ a little profit.
Not sure yet untill I really get the amount on my bank account (that will take two days)
No idea who "prepaid guy" or "freight joe" is, but I have nothing to do with them and I think it wrong of you to accuse me of that.

I will keeping my eye on all cryptocurrencies. Because I find it interesting and I also believe crypto is the future.
But with all the overhead and transaction times.... It has to become better.
I still do not understand how they can make updates in the blockchain. I mean, the technical part behind it. I will read more about that.
Maybe some update can fix the overhead and transaction times?
Maybe bitcoin will for always be the "in between"-standard, when converting to other currencies (after it has become more stable).

The reason is that I can not grasp the reason of the cause behind the value changing so much whenever it happens.
"ooooh now it went up a lot"...
"aaaaah now it went down a lot"
Then you google and google and wonder....WHY? Why did it go up a lot. Why did it go down a lot.
Sometimes you can find out about some guy with influence that said something on a conference on the other side of the World.
Sometimes it is because a site like coinbase made a mistake or introduced something new..
If lots of people buy, it goes up.
If lots of people sell, it goes down.
I understand...
But if I look at the big picture, it is still a mystery
So..while I still had a little bit of profit I sold everything.
I did not put in my life savings, but still enough to make me feel bad if the bitcoin would go down a lot more.
I also have to think about taxes (I hate doing taxes!). Here in Scandinavia I have to write down everything. All the order numbers, the amounts,,.... I will take me hours of looking up how to do it properly.
And then I have to pay 30% taxes over the profit because they validate the bitcoin like a lottery here (and I see the resemblance as well!)
I also bought it from websites from other countries and then the amounts are of course in the wrong valuta... .....horrible....
I wish all of you "bitcoiners" a very happy 2018. May all of you have profits!! (I feel like a ferengi all of a sudden)
And ehh...I probably will be back again. Just like a lottery, it is a bit of a "kick" one can get out of having a profit.
