I see you have a 2013 registration, I was 2015. There are many older members still around the forum. Obviously theymos is still active, OgNasty is still around.

I hope bitcoin changed your life & brought you some level of financial freedom. It has for me & I was 2 years later than you to the party.

unfortunately not. It had helped some. But if I could go back and buy buy buy. then HOLD..... well.. We all know that song and dance. Cheesy

None of the images in this thread have displayed for about 48 hours now? No changes on my end. Anyone else having problems?  Huh

it's the DDOS protection, the first time you load bitcointalk.org, you get no reply. If you reload, it does load all the next requests in a certain timeframe.

The same applies to the images, just open a broken image in a new tab, reload it and it will load. From then on, all HTML requests will also load the images

Just ordered a few more to fill out the hub (antminers)

Its basically a USB Fan fully sealed at the front so all the air goes down a 2 ltr coke bottle with the top and bottom sealed off

Basically made a homemade ghetto wind tunnel

Looks like a damn good idea to me.

One thing i got to say is there are some cool cooling ideas here,..

My guess they put too much load on a wire, it melted, shorted and set on fire, then burned through the ceiling causing the collapse. Before you put rigs together learn the load capacity AWG (Americican Wire Gauge) of your power cables.

Unfortunately there are many reasons why that equipment could've caught on fire. You can't just put it down to overloaded cables.

on top of that the AWG is usually on Electrition code to install enough for that circut braker. so If a circut braker is 15 amp they will run a 12-14 guage wire.

OK that wins the prize for the worst rig I have seen, and I've read every single post in this thread.  It looks like it fell though the ceiling or something yet somehow is stacked semi neatly.  Is that a wasp nest or beehive developing on it!?!

possible roof cave in on it? Shocked

We almost had a fire on our test rig the other day from a shitty power cable. It was only powering ONE 290, and my Kill-a-watt said it was pulling less than 450W at the wall. Yet the cable was so cheap, and it was getting so hot, it was melting and discoloring and charring the testbench it was sitting on. After we unplugged it, it was so brittle you could bend it and snap it in half! As I said, this was pulling less than 450W for less than 24 hours, and the cable was toast.

So yes, it's easier than you think, and only takes one bad cable to ruin everything.

it can be easy but that is why its a good idea to feel your cables after a few hours run to see if they are getting hot.  Shocked   Cool

Why don´t You use it as a room heater in winter?

Maybe his room is already filled with mining rigs? Smiley

The room is automatically heated with distributed heating (water radiator, heat water comes from a large factory nearby) and those cost is already part of the rent, what a waste  Tongue

Large factory he says. Probably his mining farmTongue
