Same thing happening again. Anyone any ideas? Which coin is being the most profitable with Skein right now? Why are all rigs getting rented?

I was wondering this too as I have been running a comparison between Nemosminer and Nicehash on separate GTX 1080 and NH spends a lot of time on Skein. The only Skein coin I've found so far that doesn't seem sketchy is a version of Digibyte (it's a multi-algo coin, and the main one appears to be Quark, which is only practical with ASIC miners).

See WTM calculator here: https://whattomine.com/coins/114-dgb-skein

There are many coins u can mine with Skein. Yes, DGB is one of the better known ones. Also XMY is mineable and I think AUR as well. SkeinCoin ofc the classic.

But there are also some new coins mineable with Skein like LIZ, ARGO, NMS or BTPL.

But which one exactly is so much worth mining that it worth to rent a Rig for 0.0035 BTC / GH / Day ??

The answer is ARGO. There is no price, just predictions. You have 50% chance to win (or lose)

Thats what I though at first as well. But the thing is ALL Rigs are getting rented out. That cant be just ARGO gamble in my eyes..

Hello guys,

I saw on MinignRigRentals that almost ALL Skein Rigs are being renten, even for ridiculous prices.

What Coin makes that so profitable? Which Coin are they all mining and I'm not seeing?

I would be greatful for any help.

Thank you all for your help. Now I'm one step closer to my rig and richer on the wisdom side of things.

My question has been answered, but, as stated in my first post, any further tips are very welcome. You also are evry welchome to continue your debate on how much GPUs you think SHOULD be used max on 1 rig, even tho more are possible. Its always nice to see many answers and reasons for them to a specific question.

Windows has limited max 8 GPUs on the system, and Linux (13 maybe). But with a few trick, we can add more than 8 GPUs on Windows.
People out there even try so hard to set up 10-13 GPUs. And stability issue will be the main problems for broke the limit.

Max is 13 GPU for one rig, on special btc+ mobo's, but remember what 13 gpu will run only under linux

You are totally wrong , incorrect !!! And probably talking about something you don't have any experience Smiley You dont need any trick to use more than 8 AMD or Nvida gpus on one system under windows , as the new amd driver / nvidia driver and a windows update  support 12 cards , and with some trick you can make a few extra amd or nvidia cards to work on top of that 12 Wink

You can run 12 AMD RX or 12 Nvidia cards easy under windows , and if you know what you doing how to set up your rig properly , you not going to have any problem !
if you want more than 12-13 cards , you must to mix nVidia / AMD / And mining cards

With ASUS B250 MINING EXPERT its possible to run more than 19 GPU's under windows , but you have to mix nVidia / AMD / And mining cards .

12 AMD Radeon RX 470 on one rig + 8 Mining cards Smiley thats 20 under windows

13x1080TI Windows 10 - 1709

13 AMD Radeon RX 470 on one rig + 8 Mining cards Smiley thats 21 under windows Wink

Also you can send me helpful links to articles or videos regarding building a minign rig, just as xxcsu did.
Its not like I cant find them myself, but there are already so many, as the crypto community is growing, so you might have a Video where you would say this one is a MUST WATCH or this one explains a specific matter very deeply.

And again, thank you all for your help. Smiley

Max GPU on one Rig
by
denax
on 27/01/2018, 14:07:32 UTC
Hello guys,

just a little noob question, since I'm doing so research on mining rigs to be able to build my own. But I dont want just to buy stuff and burn money unless I understand what I'm doing.

So I've read that 13 GPU's are max on one Rig. And that this is because this mining motherboard from AsRock has 13 PCI-E 1x slots. But now I've come across this:

https://www.amazon.com/Crest-Transfer-adapter-Extension-SI-PEX60018/dp/B077GVDMNB/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1517060061&sr=8-2-fkmr0&keywords=4+in+1+riser+x16+x1

This (as I understood it) allows you to put 4 GPU's per 1x slot. Wont I be able to user 4x13=52 GPU's per rig then?

I thank you for all helpful tips regarding building the first mining rig. Related to this question or not. Maybe if you can be so kind and "go back in time" to the time you were building your first rig, which tip would you give your old self with the wisdom you have now?

Free electricity coming from a pyramid? This reminds me bitconneeect  Grin
ok i think just you not have enough skills, is ok

Why do you have to be so toxic to people? I think this forum (or generally a place with a community) is not the right place for you.

Skein

So it came to my attention that Skein (the Algo) is getting more popular. Even on MiningRigRentals there are so many Rigs being rented. But I cant actually find a reason why.

Which coin can you mine with that algo except SkeinCoin or DGB or AUR?

Are there any "big" or at least commonly used pools for skein mining?

Is it more profitable than myriad-groestl atm?

Which coin/pool is the most profitable one right now?

Finally last 24 hour i got 600 XVG, looks like Supernova is now a good boy, will keep posted about next few earnings.

I sincerly hope Suprnova admin will ban you and all your miners will explode. Stealing peoples money and scamming them with fake pools who dont pay out, then spreading FUD abour Suprnova but keep on using it? Calling it a "good boy"? God you really are the biggest scum to walk this earth.

Who want a Pool with Proportional (Prop) - The block reward is distributed among miners in proportion to the number of shares they submitted in a round. The expected reward per share depends on the number of shares already submitted in the round.

for XVG MY_GR as SuperNova does not pay well, SuperNova is paying 30% less to us...

If there is interest of 20 X10 machines than i can ask a friend to build a pool where there would be no tricks of PPLNS
I AM OBSERVING YOUR ARE PROMOTING FOR A LONG TIME YOUR POOL RUNNING FRIEND AND LAST TIME I REMEMBER HIS POOL SCREWD MULTIPLE TIME. STOP SPREADING FUD ABOUT OTHER POOLS.

Exactly that. Mined on that Pool of his "friend". Took days till the pool got trafic, and when we found our first blocks, we never got paid. Its so poor to scam people who want to help you grow your pool over like 8 found blocks of XVG.. Have some decency and fuck off.

He posted the exact same text on the Baitkal B Thread, just changed the Algo. I wonder when mods will ban this guy.. (Hopefully also his IP)

Litecoin has a super-stable difficulty, it's almost like bitcoin, most calculators work fine with it.

Verge actually should pay out BETTER than what the calculator says as the difficulty over the alast 24h and 7d is decreasing and the calculators always calculate a static difficulty and don't have any variance. AND XVG is actually vulnerable to a difficulty retarget exploit - it will retarget too low when hashrate drops under a certain point and then will retarget too high ... during that time you can mine much more profitable.. After that phase you stop your miners, mine a different coin and come back to XVG when the diff dropped again

Many other algos have the same problem on whattomine, simply try a few other pools and coins and you'll notice that as well, DASH is a good example - it was super-exploited with the D3's coming online back in the days.

However, to come back to the PPLNS vs. Prop - did you read my link and explanation about that ? Are you still so certain that Prop payout is so much better ?

If Verge should pay out more than the Calcs say, then why am I getting around 550 XVG per day on the new myriad groestl xvg pool of yours when it should be almost 700? (Last days the calc showed even 800 once)

Stop trying to scam people. Sold out at Baikal. If you are willing to pay more, try resellers, but I wont. Dont trust people who want your money for an order directly through baikal.

Hey folks,

I'm testing a XVG myriad-groestl pool:

https://xvg-mg.suprnova.cc

Can someone point a Baikal and report if the diff retarget etc. is working fine ?

Thanks,

oc

PS: it's a new database format, you'll need to re-register and set up workers even if you already got a suprnova account, I'm in the progress of migrating to a new DB design.

How much are fees?
Pool fee, transaction fee, any other fee?
