Is FutureBit dead? Their last news post was back in April, just wondering.

I have the complete controller with a 512 GB memory. Can I just swap that out with a 1TB card without any problems? Can someone suggest which one/type to use?

Purring away month after month in balanced mode, about every 3 months I gently shut them down to blow the dust out of the miners and PSUs. Since I popped out the SDD from the start, I do wish I'd get some feedback on safely installing CPUMINER since the cpu is getting bored...

Staying on topic I have a full + 2 slave units. I've read various posts about running other apps on the full system but I haven't come across any mention of running something like cpuminer at the same time as the miners are running. I'd simply like to utilize unused cpu power even if it's for a tiny amount of mining results.

Does anyone know if this is possible?

Remove the SSD - hosting a node offers no value to you.

I'm one of those that use this great BTC miner to mine other coins. I pulled the SSD and stuck it into a cheap thin case from Amazon (simple USB SSD) since running a node has zero value to me. I received my full + 2 end of June 2021 and up and running within a week (after moving around shelves and other stuff). These have been running with no problems (after removing the SSD).

I'm posting this as an encouragement to others that want to focus on other coins. The dashboard pic and the wallet pic were grabbed today. All the coinage was mined since the first week of July. There were a few days my room was too hot because of the hot weather, one or two power outages, etc.

I simply see this as diversifying my crypto portfolio. Good luck!

Tried to install/run cpuminer but the build failed. Think I have lots of cpu cycles I'd like to put to use (not doing the BTC core) - anyone tried to install this? If I could get it running I'd like to use it as a scrypt miner.

Removed it - don't want it - does nothing for me - has ZERO value to me - Main and 2 slaves purring perfectly.

I simply popped out the SSD and I have no problems - hashing away, never stopping. The burden of hosting a node does absolutely nothing for me - no benefit at all. Just happily mining SHA-256!

My purpose was a SHA-256 miner. I have no interest in the BTC node aspect. Thanks for the info - I'll try pulling the SSD (seems like a more permanant solution) and hopefully the miner will still operate as great as it has been. Thanks for creating a great SHA-256 miner!

When I initially started the full + 2 standard units I thought I chose to disable the BTC node. Just checked and it wasn't disabled. How do I disable this??? I see no option on the Node dashboard.

On the FutureBit site the node upgrade shows "SOLD" but if you click the image it says "Both Batch 1 and Batch 2 Kits are back in stock and ship within 1-2 business days."

Is the upgrade for batch 1 available?

If all nodes gave no rewards no one would be mining.

What's the point of anyone mining from a FutureBit node if there is no reward? What purpose is there to secure something you aren't rewarded for? Why waste electricity, time, bandwidth, hassles for just a good feeling?

Didn't think so - that's why I just use it as a SHA256 miner - dump the node.

If someone is mining on the Apollo BTC node and by some miracle they (or you) find a block - are they (or you) rewarded somehow? Does the node software on the Apollo somehow reward the finder?

Have a standard unit that wants to be stubborn. (ECO mode). I'm wondering if this is related to a problem mentioned earlier:

The USB connected hashboards is a known issue we are trying to figure out if its a firmware or general STM32 USB driver issue. Usually a power cycle on the standard unit will fix it if its taking a really long time to connect.  - jstefanop

Finally set up the full + 2 standard units I received a few days ago. Very easy. One of the starndard units took awhile (about 15 min) to display a stable hashrate and all three hare happily churning out about 2Th/s avg each.

Disabled the BTC pool - not my thing.
