Stop panicking, stupid moronic sellers.......... Delisted from a shit exchange is not a big deal! We have Zapple now, which seem to have great growth potential and have a great dude who is actually hearing our voices! XpoolX is working on his one! You will regret selling at less than 500 sat!!

Difficulty hardly crashed with the bad news, so there is still as many miners and people supporting the project. Time to earn an easy 10 x return by buying RIC now at these outrageously low prices and hold them patiently before it returns to the already scandalous 500 sat level. RIC market cap must at least match XPM's.

Some people might already doubled their fortune by buying RIC at 71 sat... Who knows if it was just a dump & pumper...

Guytp, can you contact cryptoid and CoinMarketCap so they add your exchange?

And - guytp, thanks for your support of RIC, particularly given that Polo has messed up their wallet for months at a time twice now.

Beyond contacting cryptoid and CMC, how can we help Zapple grow and reach people who want to play with RIC?

@guytp - when I click on "2" to see the next page of buy orders for RIC on your exchange, ... nothing happens.

I may be holding it wrong, I admit. Smiley

(can't page through the sell orders either).

Chrome, MacOS, nothing else weird.

Kudos for the continued improvements to your exchange!

Wait a sec - now it worked, but only after doing other actions.  weird!

Hi all. I've been mining Riecoin since January. It is good to see some interest in new exchanges and updating the wallet.

As much as I like Riecoin I have to say I'm a bit bored with finding 6-tuples at half the current record difficulty. If a major effort is going to be made to upgrade the wallet would you consider also changing the algorithm to make finding large clusters a lot easier? It is really a shame that 6-tuples were chosen. A 6-tuple cannot be part of a 7-tuple or any larger constellation. A 7-tuple on the other hand can be part of every constellation up to 15-tuple. lf we switched to looking for 7-tuple blocks then several blocks a day would also be 8-tuples. These would probably be in the range of the current 8-tuple record. Every couple weeks one of the 7-tuples would also be a 9-tuple. This would smash the current record. If the goal is to find large constellations then why stick with an algorithm that guarantees we never find one?

I think I would also add a second chain that looked for 10 or 11-tuples. This would be a GPU friendly chain that could bring in a lot of new interest in Riecoin.

There are several other things we could consider as well. If this was implemented properly we could probably break most of the records from 7 to 13 or 14. I could probably write this part of the code. I'm also willing to help out with the upgrade but I'm much less familiar with the wallet core. Let me know what you think.

That's a fun idea.

I think we should first complete the upgrade -- making *more* changes to the old code before we get updated will just make future integration harder.

Gatra had a related idea for seeing if we could find longer tuples, but I don't want to share his thoughts without permission, so I'll let him chime in.  In any event, I think something that increases the flexibility of the tuples to enable us to break more records would be awesome.

now riecoin price 784 sats. very bad. why why why you dont do anything for your coin.  I say to GATRA. Where will use your coin and what is your aim?. why you dont do any update. For many coins creators  they sold coins to investors and run away. Very good world take million dollars and run away and only 0.5 BTC will give for update. I will give you 0.5 btc. please go and dont come anytime.

Let's try not to be jerks in this thread.  Gatra offered to pay someone a fairly decent amount of money to bring the coin up to modern standards.  I know there's one person who's been working on it, though I don't know how far along it is at this point.

I'm pretty sure nobody has made a million dollars from RIC, and if anyone has, it's not Gatra -- I've been watching this coin since the start, and he did a legitimately fair launch.  Of the people who jumped in and created early miners for it, I'm pretty sure none of us made more than a few thousand dollars.  jh00 probably had the best chance, but he opened his miner on his pool quite quickly.

If you want to see more progress, offer to contribute to the bounty.  I've offered 0.1 BTC on top of Gatra's offer -- will you join me and offer your own 0.1 BTC?

(and on an unrelated note, @guytp - thanks for being so responsive to bugs on the exchange.  Very excited to see you're making such progress, even if RIC is very underpriced on zapple compared to polo.  But with more volume, they'll hopefully get closer.)

RIC is now live on Zapple.com.

The site should be working - if anybody has any particular problems please let me know - either a direct message here or via a support request on Zapple's website and I'll look straight into it for you.  Hopefully this will now give everyone an opportunity to have somewhere to trade RIC.

Thanks,

Guy

All buy orders now disappear as "Price must be at least 0.00001"

This is a bug, please fix.

Confirmed.  And existing sell orders seem to have all been increased to 0.00001 as well, even though there were many on the book for less than that.

I think riecoin dead. Gatra only gives 0.5 BTC. I think it is anything. Gatra must do everything and merge from bitcoin. Gatra says that he didnt any time for riecoin. Why poloniex has disabled wallet. I think somebody dont want other riecoins on poloniex. Because they sell their coins. I dont beleive Gatra.

polo disabled their wallet because there was a fork that went beyond the wallet limit, so they auto-disabled.

... now, that leaves the question why they haven't turned their wallet back on yet, but I suspect that says more about Polo's support, unfortunately.

@guytp - your exchange doesn't appear to be executing orders properly right now.  I just tried to sell 50 RIC at market, and it's just sitting there, listed as a 50 RIC open order, but nothing's happening. Smiley

I am happy to take a look. However, new to this field, would you please describe what is the current problem with current riecoin code? What do you expect to be done by "merging Bitcoin Core 0.16.0" and how would that address Poloniex's request? Should we first take a look at current riecoin code, apply fixes in Bitcoin Core 0.16.0, or reversely, replace the POW in Bitcoin Core 0.16.0 so it can talk to Riecoin network?

I'm time short so can't do this myself but may be able to give some pointers.  What's your technical level in terms of development (none, some, already looked at Bitcoin source, etc.) and in terms of the process of merging/managing source code in Git?

lzknr:

Riecoin is a fork of a much earlier version of bitcoin -- about 0.9.1 or so.

Bitcoin 0.9.1 + Gatra's Changes = Riecoin

We need to get this to:

Bitcoin 0.16.0 + Gatra's Changes = Modern Riecoin

The problem, of course, is that gatra's changes won't apply cleanly to bitcoin 0.16.0, because a lot has changed in the code since then, so it will require careful porting and re-implementation of parts of what makes Riecoin unique.

That said, the Riecoin changes are *pretty* focused.  You can see them in the github history:

https://github.com/riecoin/riecoin/commits/master

where pablo (Gatra) committed the changes.

This is the single biggest set of changes, but it's necessary to pull forward all of the differences:

https://github.com/riecoin/riecoin/commit/48cbc80d7059ca91e75c5cb8bac73ccf1c5dd6ed

Do you have an API available?

Yes.  There is no formal how-to documentation but a fairly basic test UI detailing calls.

API itself is self-described at https://zapple.io/exchange/1/_md/index

To call any authenticated call you need to first login by making a call to our authentication API:

PUT https://lts-api.com/auth/1/

Body:
{
  "Username": "XXX",
  "Password": "YYY",
  "TwoFactorAuthenticationCode": null
}

If you have 2FA enabled replace null with your current 2FA code.

In your response will be something like this:

{
"JsonWebToken":"XXXXX",
... other fields
}

Capture the "JsonWebToken" value (XXXXX here) and then in authenticated calls pass it in as authorization header

BEARER XXXXX

Tokens have a validity once issued, you can call a renew endpoint or log back in upon expiry.  You must renew prior to expiry.

What we don't have yet is a single API token that is long-life - so if you have 2FA you'll need to supply the 2FA code when you first start your application and then renew the token every 15 minutes or so.  Dedicated API tokens with long-life are planned.

Cool.  I assume this is in the long-term plan, but just in case, I do suggest making a way to use the API without sending one's password (or even having to have it stored);  it's advantageous to be able to have the API have access to some functions, but the password gives you god mode access to your account.   I like how Bittrex lets the account owner specify some limits on the power of individual API keys, for example.

(I'll wait - I was thinking of making a very simple market-maker bot to try to improve liquidity for RIC)

guytp, interface nit:  When I went to withdraw BTC, it says "must be less than your balance" -- shouldn't it be "less than or equal" and allow me to withdraw my full balance?  I had to leave a few cents behind.

Thanks for raising this.  I'll get this looked into on Monday.  If you want to empty out remaining balance raise a support message on Zapple and I'll get the transaction processed manually with us absorbing the fee.

With regards to BTC fees minimum deposit is now 0.001 and withdrawal fee is 0.0002.

Thanks!  Wasn't a big deal - I left something like .00001 or so behind, and I'm happy leaving some money there as buy and sell orders to help with liquidity while you get established.

Do you have an API available?

Hi dear community!

First, kudos and thank you guytp for supporting RIC.

I can't promise anything at the moment but I'm working with getting other exchanges to support RIC.

Now, I have received some justified complains that I'm not active on Riecoin anymore. When I started this amazing project, I had little money to invest but I did have some time I decided to devote to its development. Now things have changed, and while I'm very short on time, I'm lucky enough to be able to commit some money on the project.
So, I'm offering a 0.5 BTC bounty to the person or team that can merge the Bitcoin Core 0.16.0 codebase with RIC and make an updated client that can work with RIC's current protocol and network.
Rules:
- I will review the code and make it the new official Riecoin client
- I decide if the code is ok and worthy of the bounty
- It has to support deterministic builds
- It's not necessary to update all unit tests, but it would be nice
- I decide when the bounty is over

I wish you luck and I'll be available for help with specific questions regarding the code.

Thank you all and let's keep RIC'ing!

Gatra

On the assumption that I have no time to try to do this either, I'll add in an extra 0.1 BTC to Gatra's bounty to sweeten the deal.  This offer is good through the end of 2018.

I'm happy to provide (flaky, i-get-too-busy-for-crypto-all-the-time, you've been warned) help understanding the PoW code or other parts of the codebase I've played with if whomever picks this up wants help.

OK, thank you. 0.0002 BTC withdrawal fee is reasonable (if you actually forgot a 0 in the first paragraph). I am sure that you are doing your best to find the optimal fees after all. Keep the good work up.

DGA, was your order filled and is BTC withdrawal working well?

It was filled, but it turns out I didn't have enough BTC to meet the minimum withdrawal.  I'll go sell some more in a bit and report back!

I've successfully withdrawn $9 worth of BTC.  It's not confirmed, but the TX shows in the BTC block explorers.

(Note that people shouldn't construe this as an endorsement of the exchange, just confirmation that my test withdrawal worked.  I always urge caution when dealing with cryptocurrencies and newer exchanges!)

Awesome Guytp, thank you! I am going to sign up and trade there as soon as people are sharing some good feedbacks! (bonus if price increases) And I wish you success for your exchange! Please never ever freeze any wallet or account without reason, and keep being in contact with the Riecoin community  Smiley

And with the XPoolX one, there will be 2 available ways to trade Riecoin, nice!

Edit: What are the minimum trades and withdrawal amounts and their fees?

Deposit Fee: 0
Taker Fee: 0.2%
Maker Fee: 0.1%
Withdrawal Fee: 0.01 RIC
Minimum Deposit: 0.01
Minimum Withdrawal: 0.01
Minimum Order: 0.00000001

Fantastic, guytp!  Thank you!

I've put a small amount of RIC up for sale at a discount relative to the last price on Polo (about $7 worth), if someone wants to grab it, and we can independently confirm that withdrawing works.  The deposit worked.  The BTC withdraw fee is 0.00050, which I'll happily spend to confirm the site works.

Are you accepting registrations now?

Yes, and I'm happy to deal with getting it all going with no formal submission - I've just got to get a RIC node up and synced to the network.

I can aim for this to be live paired against BTC by the end of the week.  I could pair against any of the other bases but I have a feeling BTC will be best for this.

Thank you!

At least the last time I checked, RIC nodes tend to get DDoS'd as soon as they come online, if they connect to all nodes out there.  ziiip occasionally posts a list of "safe" nodes to connect to.  (Of course, you've probably also got great ddos protection if you're setting up an exchange, so this may be unnecessary).  I haven't verified it recently, since I don't want to get my neighborhood kicked off the internet again for several hours.

Don't hesitate to reach out if you have questions.

Awesome, Ziiip and DGA! Thank you so much.

Anyone interested in the Isoetes' offer? Currently, if we could list Riecoin in any other exchange, no matter how small is it, it would be great (as long as the exchange does not suck like Poloniex).

Isoetes, you exchange seems to be very small currently, and there is like 5-10 BTC average daily volume on Poloniex. I think that most of it will migrate to your echange if you list it now, this would be a great boost for your exchange. So, I encourage you to add Riecoin, is should be as easy as coins like Litecoin.

And seriously Gatra... Even if you are busy, just take like 1 hour to support your Riecoin community man!

Does anyone know how legit that exchange is?

I talked with gatra briefly and asked if we could delegate a member of the community to talk with exchanges but he has not responded to that request.

I propose that we create a community fund to help with exchange listing fees.

I would like to allocate all pool donations for that purpose but that doesn't help the current situation since I will be unable to exchange them.

I Will commit at least 0.5 btc to this fund for starters.

I'll add another 0.25.

yes,Deposits and withdrawals have been enabled, but my 19270 ric deposit has not been updated.

I tried a small test deposit that hasn't shown up yet, so I'd encourage people to wait a little bit before moving any real amount.

Any news on Poloniex deposit/withdraw issue? Their statement indicates they may require update from RIC team.

It took them a week or two to fix it last time.  It doesn't need anything to actually be fixed, they just need to reenable it.
