Re: Why is the price of most coins decreased?
by
dhas
on 26/02/2018, 13:46:37 UTC
altcoin price decreased day by day that was huge pumping some days before. what's the actual reason of this dumping the crypto values...? do you have any idea regarding this issues. how to be if I am invest right now.
Huge number of altcoin are connected to bitcoin. That's why if ever bitcoin fall down, a lot of altcoin followed it in the drop. Aside from that the demand of cryptos in the market are so unpredictable. Sometime there a huge demand, sometimes not. That why the price of the coin was also often to change. And its natural for all the crypto.

Re: How to evaluate potential ICO projects?
by
dhas
on 26/02/2018, 12:33:42 UTC
As I known, ICO is a kind of risky investment. Similar to the IPO which is the form of invite for capital investment, but when buying IPO, investors can research the information about the company they invested, find out about official finance reports and be protected by law when joining. In contrast, ICO projects are often rather ambiguous and unprotected by government so the risk is so high for investors.
So how to evaluate a potential ICO project, look forward to receiving comments from you  Smiley
You better look for the team who are handling the project. As well as the whitepaper of the project. If you notice that it has a potential to be a good ICO then probably it better to give support with it. The whitepaper must contain all the important detail that the investors need to know inorder for them to decided wether they are going to invest or not.

Re: Is holding for 1 year considered short term or long term?
by
dhas
on 26/02/2018, 06:29:22 UTC
Many many people say they are holding this, holding that for the "long term" but please tell me what exactly is your guys definition of "long term"?
For me, 1 year is considered long time. I began investing this January and I will hold one year and cash out everything January 2019. So by your definition, is this more short term or long term? Is 1 year enough time to see gains?  Huh
Well actually I also do trading using bitcoin. Because I believe to the potential of this coin. And in terms of holding, I think 1 year is too long for an investment. Because I already tried it that I invest a small amount in BTC but still I have my profit even if after a week. So its means if you hold it for 1year you will gain more and bigger that holding it for a short term.

Re: Hacking is the Big Problem
by
dhas
on 25/02/2018, 22:52:25 UTC
Well I guess its the fear of been hacked that is why most people refuse to have anything to do with bitcoin or other cryptocurrency. When I told a friend of mine whom i have been trying to convince into investing in cryptocurrency about how people do get hacked if not careful, he ended up telling me he has made his stand not to invest in crypto because it freaks him out. How I wish there will be a solution to this, probably, a lot of people might have invested in cryptocurrency.
If that is the fear, then they are not really ready for the future and they can just best stick to their traditional age and ways of doing things. Not like there is no solution to security but the problem is people always prefer staying in their comfort zone rather than looking for those solutions. What happened to cold and offline storages if they are scared of hackers? I guess they just do not have anything to do and are busy looking for excuses.

You can't blame them. And as far as I know cold or offline storages are good if you stash huge amounts of bitcoin. But for a common and casual traders, it makes sense to store small amounts in desktop wallet or even in an exchange. But we all know hackers are really that good and it seems they always found vulnerabilities that they can exploit anytime, just like what happened to CoinCheck hack.

So the best thing for us is to be very protective of our accounts. I'm sure that we all heard howr to secure it, but most of us are not really doing good because thousand or even millions of dollars are lost to the hackers.

Then definitely you must secure your account. You should kept your private information secure so that no one can hacked it. Because we cant deny it that as the technology improve people who have enough knowledge about will surely abuse it for them to have money in the most easiest way.

you called me Sir.. instant no no for me fella

I see. Why don't you accept my sign of respect? I don't know what country you came from but aside from it's description I think that should be the word I need to address you. I mean you're a Hero Member

First of all, being a Hero Member doesn't mean that they deserve more respect than any other rank. It just indicates the length of time that they've been on the forums.

Secondly, just being able to write and speak English isn't enough to earn Merits. If that was the case, then every single one of my posts should be merited.

I believe that the reason @TMAN referenced @nullius' posts is because they are relevant to the context of the topics that he/she decides to post in. Take a look at his/her posts, and look at the context of the topic. Spot on, and a great example of how newbies and low-ranked members should be posting.

And for the record, I've merited posts that weren't extremely proficient in English; my merits are based on what I find to be valuable to the Bitcointalk community AND to the given topic of discussion. I could actually give a shit less about how good someone's English is, as long as I know that they're putting forth a good effort to contribute here.
Not all in hero spots are spoke good English language, because some of them are speaking broken English. However they considered it in the previous but now since quality of post is the no. 1 needed they were need to make a sentences with good quality of English.

The challenge to us how many people are users are reach in the hero spots since merit points now are applicable? They need to catched up the eye of many users to give us merit.

In addition they need to make level our activities and merit to make us ranked up in the future.

I think you actually did not understand the intent here. Why you want someone to read your broken English.
If you are not proficient in English language then you should post in your local language.
OP here require good English to understand and merit the post but it does not mean people will not get merit if they are not proficient in English.
Oh well Im not emphasizing broken english of the others. My point is, if your not comfortable in using English as the medium of communication in this forum, then probably you should trained yourself to be familiarize.
Lets face it its so hard to earn, merit nowadays that's why everyone had been challenge to post a unique and quality post so that others will notice it and give merit.
And for those who experience struggle in English you must practice.

You should modify your thread and add information about the escrow arrangements. There are several highly trusted and reputable escrow providers on this site who can hold coins while trades are completed.

The idea is for people here to feel protected when dealing with you, especially because you have a rather new account. A trusted escrow can reassure sellers that they have your bitcoins in hand. Sellers from anywhere in the US can then overnight their stuff to you, you then appraise it and instruct escrow to release a certain amount of bitcoins to the seller.

Offering escrow protection will encourage reluctant sellers to come forward and offer something to sell.

Yes I agree. Its nice to feel secure everytime you are planning to enter an investment or a project. And adding escrow, will contribute in building a trust between your project and your invest. Because its means your transparent to the fund that you've collected.

We are still searching for a great escrow partner that will escrow almost all coins
Well thats good, if you could find a great and legit escow then probably many people will encourage to sell their things to yours and trust what services you have been offer. Because they will be, convince that the things they sell will be paid and secure thru your escow.

Right now we allow anyone to choose their own escrow. Until we find an official partner this is what we will continue to do
What if your customer doesn't have an available escow account? How could they been paid for the things that they sell? Don't you think its too difficult for them to sell , specially if they are just an ordinary people who dont have any account for an escow?

Re: Where Will The Digital Economy Take Us?
by
dhas
on 23/02/2018, 22:02:36 UTC
The digital economy will likely be used extensively in the next 50 years, and coin derivatives with large technology infrastructure will be used as legal funds. It would be possible to raise a generation that would not know what banknotes and shillin money would be for many years to think, nor would it be a lie or a great claim.
We have our own way of predicting things that might happen in the next generation. In my part I believe that the digital economy will take us to the life that is financially free and stable, because it is used as an asset of gaining fiat, but I believe that cash less world is maybe impossible to happen because from the beginning we are using fiat and maybe in the end fiat will take the crown.
I agree on you.We may not tell at the moment what will be the right prediction for the next generation but as of now,i am very optimistic that digital economy will bring lot of progress to our individual's country but i can never really tell when will it last or it will be forever already. But i really think that it would be hard though to replace our fiat currency because from the start, majority of the people are already using it,plus the fact that is generated wholely by the central bank.
Well I dont think that the future generation will really abolish the fiat in out daily live. We still need it in doing some simple transaction like buying a small in the market using bills. But we cannot stop the improving generation and the growing technology. So the best thing that we can do is to go and learn something new today.

its a big impact to us if we use a digital currencies like bitcoin who also use blockchain it will help us to grow more our economy in the next few years we will see how blockchain can help due to digital currencies it may also help to fast and easy way of living and we improve our fast communicating by help of digital currencies.
Not just that , but because the trend in our generation our the high technology that they offer. Because of it we can continue to improve, and develop the blockchain that we have now. We should make it more suitable to the users and supporters of it. Like bitcoin, we cant say that it is already a perfect coin, we can still improve it the way the developer wanted to do.

What will happen with Blockchain technology in the next 50 years?

Although for digital assets generated from Blockchain technology like Bitcoin and other coins, it is difficult to predict future due to their highly-volatile nature but Blockchain Technology individually is a horse of long-run.
Best sector where we can see Blockchain grooming is Banking. Few banks already adapted blockchain in their operations. Recently India's Central Bank is planning to launch financial model based on Blockchain. It is most economical technology when it comes to data remittance or transfers. Along with that, it can also be used to launch Bank-oriented Cryptocurrencies. Banks can offer their cryptocurrencies to users and it can upcome as new form of bank deposits. Also Banks can use them as security for taking loans from different sources.
(Are you thinking of E-Coin from Mr. Robot, no I am not talking about that.  Grin)
I agree with you mate. Althought the new generation are prefer to use the new trend cypto market. The problem is those first generation that come , that also find difficulty in adapting the blockchain technology. We know that online transaction are now, launching different feature and it is more convinient. That's what makes the crypto industry or bitcoin market more popular because it has a lot of feature doing online transaction.

I want to invest in Ethereum or NEO for next two years, need $15k

Is is better to hold 2 Ethereum or 15 NEO till 2020?

IMO, NEO can reach $1000 easily this year but its hard for Ethereum to reach $10k till 2020.

What do you suggest?
For me ethereum is still better among any other altcoin. The price of it in the market are more stable than NEO so it means that its better to kept ethereum than NEO in long term. Cause I believe that ethereum can improve as the time goes by. And it has more investors that make it more strong in the market of cryptocurrency.

I am just wondering if you still would gamble if you would have enough money? I mean, now as it is, do you gamble for the fun or for the profit?
If you have a lot of coin , and money isn't an issue for you then Im sure you will enjoy to gamble because your doing it for fun. And to matter will happen , you lose or win then its not an issue for you.
But we cant deny that there really some person who take risk in gambling to double their money because they badly neeeded it.
So no matter the reason of your gamble, it is still acceptable by the others.

Just after the Korean news that Korea going to shut down all Crypto exchanges completely. A similar news coming from China now. here is the link for the news

https://www.coindesk.com/pboc-official-calls-for-wider-ban-on-chinese-crypto-trading-report/?utm_content=buffer291bb&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer

China is in the list of banning bitcoin. Earlier China closed a major mining pool. This really bit affected bitcoin growth while this happened. But if you look at on the other side, we have other new countries like RUSSIA and JAPAN have adapted bitcoin into their countries. They legally announced and accepted bitcoin.

Bitcoin growth is going to affect the country economy. You can take this in two ways. This would affect current fiats value, or if bitcoin is accepted, the respected country is going to have a massive growth in wealth. Not only the country, but also the citizens as well.
Yes it is actually given already that bitcoin can really affect one's economy, especially in term of money. But we can actually concluded that bitcoin will always bring positive impact to our economy. Sometime it also bring harm , for example some people in the country can exchange their bitcoin , into their local fiat without paying any tax. And it hurts one's economy. That's why they are really carefull in letting the bitcoin be part of their economy.

As it seems to me, the more hype around the project, the stronger it will fall after a very strong growth.
In my opinion, it is normally happen because after launching of ICO's more people are buy stocks of token and they holding it because they just want to save it for the future value. More traders are doing that they buy high numbers of token then they sell it immediately or hold it.

Re: Time to move from Electrum
by

on 09/02/2018, 01:57:26 UTC
I'm probably close to being the average Bitcoin user:
- with very average technical understanding
- owning a modest sum of coins (and in possession of and controlling even less)
- using mainstream consumer hardware and OS
- transacting at most once a day

I've tried many wallets in my time and Electrum is still the best fit for me, based on above reasons. As others point out, that the developer(s) behind Electrum respond quickly and effectively to vulnerabilities makes me even more confident. That said, I don't think I can ever trust anything I don't fully understand. That's not a criticism of Electrum, that's probably just a best practice of security.
However the charges of this wallet was so high, when I tried to withdraw or transfer my amount into different wallet charges was almost half of my amount, that's why I can't used now my electrum. But in terms of services and features of this wallet no problem, only the charges amount for me is the problem.

I've heard news from Ripple that I've agreed with some of them. These news related to Ripple used to excite me. But now I'm not as excited as the old. Because the credibility of me has weakened.
The potential of 1 crypto currency are limitless so I guess ripple was reach $2 this year. However i was worried regarding continues dropping down of many crypto in trading sites. Because there's a possibility that this is one of the critical situation that can affect to the increasing value of this altcoin.
