What is wrong with everyone? Not being added to Bittrex or Polo isn't the fault of the team behind Komodo, but is a strict policy of the exchanges. if you want them added there, do a coin request and maybe they will add it because you were asking it, but don't count on it. If Komodo comes from the ground and people are getting more interested in it, they will add it automatically by them self.

Crying about why they are not on those exchanges isn't very helpful. The team behind it would love to see it as well. Maybe more then you guys are doing.

it does look like quite a bullish pattern in terms of USD.

considering BTC is up to $1000+ from a low below $200 and BTCD price in BTC is still close to historical average is quite a strong sign.

While we all (myself included) patiently wait for the snapshot, elections, swap to begin, the komodod has reached a point of feature complete and in the validation stage. With the dPoW, assetchains, pax and DEX features it is quite a list to complete, but I am optimistic it will be achieved before the end of elections.

I am now coding LP node features, which are not a komodod hardfork even if it needs to be changed, so out of the territory that would incur delays for mainnet.

Which means I seem to be out of the critical path and am able to reduce my hours from the 16 hours per day * 7 days per week marathon in 2017. It has been a long stretch of nonstop coding and there is still work to be done, but the overall solution is in place and further work is about enhancing the basic system.

This reduction of reliance on me is a good thing, both for me and for komodo and SuperNET. After mainnet release, I might even take a short vacation.

If you want to track our usage of ICO funds, just follow the ICO BTC address. So far we have withdrawn a bit more than 60 BTC for monthly expenses. Our monthly expenses will be higher at first due to the development costs that are frontloaded and also without a KMD market, we need to spend the BTC instead of using KMD or pax fiat. As we get a KMD market, the pressure on our BTC expenditures will lessen as most of our expenses are denominated in fiat and if we can use pax fiat for that, it wont consume BTC.

ANNOUNCEMENT -

As the cryptocurrency environment is constantly changing, any coin that hopes to be successful and have longevity must adapt to changing market conditions.  In the spirit of adapting to changing conditions, the development team is making the following changes, effective Sept. 19th.

Please see the OP for instructions to upgrade to the latest client and be prepared for the upcoming hard forks.

Change 1 -

Spots was originally designed to not have a block reward halving.  In reading some of the older archives, iGotSpots had made the assumption that the price would continue to raise indefinitely and thought that by not introducing a halving that the price could be made to stay static by keeping a steady amount of new coins coming in to circulation.  The goal with this was to keep a steady SPT / Silver or Gold price point over a long period of time.

What has happened, is that the demand for the coin has slowed because the altcoin market is simply flooded.  Now, a block reward that never phases out is placing downward pressure on a market that isn't able to combat it.  To solve for this, and still try to remain true to the original concepts, we are introducing a "smooth reward phase out".  The block reward will be reduced to 24 SPT at Block 230,000 and reduce by 5% every 48,000 blocks.  To ensure network security, the reward will never be less than 4.5 SPT.


Change 2 -

When our team took over Spots, there was a fear of Scrypt ASICs and how they would impact the marketplace.  We introduced a change to Scrypt-N, which has presented another set of problems.  In the Scrypt-N arena, we have seen significant downward pressure from multipools that have only a few Scrypt-N coins to compare against.  The mining software is also specialized and more difficult to use.

The feared "Scrypt ASIC invasion" wasn't as significant as we originally feared.  As a result of this, and other factors, Scrypt-N never gained mainstream popularity.  Reverting back to Scrypt places us in the same arena as many other popular altcoins like Litecoin, Dogecoin, Feathercoin, and more.  As such, we shall be reverting back to Scrypt effective Sept 19th at midnight GMT.
