Hi folks, its been a long time since i posted anything here but i read allmost every day.
Its because im on the move allmost all the time and only have my phone.
I like the changes made with the new dev team and the premine gone and all. Really good news for the coin!
I would really like to donate some mints every now and then to different projects but its difficult since i allmost never have access to my computer where my wallet is.
So i have some ideas for the wallet:
1. An option to auto-send [0-100%] of minted coins to [mintcoin address]
Then i could auto donate x% of all minted coins to whatever project i like.
2. Possibility to remote control the wallet via an android app.
It could be an option in the wallet where you allow remote access and then configure a password or generate a qr code that you have to scan with your phone to gain access.
And a light weight android app that you can connect to your wallet and see your balance and send coins (maybe just to pre configured addresses for security).
What do you think, is it possible to implement any of it?

Last week i remember some one talking about unlimited advertising for mint was this for real or just someone trolling and if it is real when will this be implemented?

Forking is not necessary, but it is an option that the community can consider. I am not here to push any specific agenda.
Can someone explain the unlock wallet problem mentioned. I don't have time to sort through the conversations on this massive thread.

BTW. there's a bug in mintcoin wallet 1.9.1:
- I've got the wallet encrypted and locked.
- Going to the send screen, entering a valid address and amount
- then clicking Send does not show the unlock wallet where you can enter a passphrase, nothing happens.
- I first have to click unlock wallet button and only then I can send coins.
short: The "Unlock wallet" window should appear when clicking send and the wallet is locked.

I think the above solved the unlock problem.
I'm in doubt.. sell my 25000000 MINT at great loss or hope the dev team will make a statement that will inspire re-newed confidence in mintcoin.

What I don't get is why the people selling don't just hold the coins in their wallet and mint MINT? It's about 1% every 20 days and that can add up, especially since February/March 2014.

The top address just bought 400 million more coins. With that, he is now minting over $1,500 per month at current prices. The more he buys the higher the price goes, and the more coins he gets, the more he mints, which means doubling up on his minting values as well as the price goes higher...wow. Genius. He is minting over 2 BTC worth a month now...I think it is cool because it is a lot better than investing in mining gear... With Mintcoin the coins are your miners (or minters).

Yikes, I can honestly say my faith is a bit shaken. I have never seen a coin rise this far, this fast, build such a large community, and then bam! Straight down. It's like someone slammed on the brakes and never let off them.
This is MINT. This is the coin that started the entire PoS craze!
Oh well, I don't dump, I have been buying a few million here, a few million there, and sending them to my wallet to stake since MINT dropped under 20 satoshis, so I may as well scoop up a few million more and go down with the ship if I must.
Hope we see some life back in good old MINT one of these days.

You guys should really make a combined effort to get your hash power on MINT and show there is buying power that can reverse your long term down trend. I offer MINT payouts on http://www.cryptoalts.com but mining support has been somewhat non-existent (http://cryptoalts.com/cointable/).
With your volume, something like 0.5-1BTC of buy pressure a day could really make a difference and set off a slow upward motion instead of losing 1 sat per week. I get there's Hashcows and other larger pools, but I always encourage BC miners to stay on BCP or use my pool. Because individually you are weak, but together you can be strong.
Mintcointeam add this multipool in the OP, it is a really good one!

How can you still mine mintcoin?
Are you mining it at one of those multipools or somewhere else.
Can you get alot of mintcoins doing that?

That can be easily solved by the coin control features already integrated in the mintcoin wallet. I already use only the recent coins for transactions while my older coins are staking. I think people will understand if their coins are staking so they can't use them instantaneously. Or that they lose their coin age by moving the coins. Most people will just put the money in their wallet and let it there and collect interest. Just like a bank.

This would help if the bank were to give each person only the coins they themselves were staking. I don't believe this happens right now though, but may be worth looking into if equality is really that important with this.
This could cause issues with members. I couldn't imagine a bank saying "you made your deposit but we're not going to let you touch it for a week."
Actually, in some cases I guess this happens (most banks will do cash deposits instantly, though some are still delayed a few days). But for cryptos, the point is breaking away from this cycle.

Yeah, the problem is exchanges don't keep coins in the same addresses you deposit them into. ie.
I make a deposit of 100k MINT right now. That's put in Address A.
Later on, when the hotwallet hits 500k (due to 4 other depositors), 350k coins are going to be moved to the exchange's cold wallet, Address F (including coins of mine, B, C, D and E)
From time to time the hot wallet will need replenished. This means coins are moving back from F to another address for sending out.
When we make the deposits is irrelevant because the exchange is going to be shifting things back and forth between hot/cold wallets and addresses for paying out.

The problem i see is how to keep track of whos coins have minted and how mutch but i do have some ideas how to simplify this.
I might build something just to try it out..

The minting is easy enough. Just pay out minted coins relative to the deposits. It's the wallet that mints, so this is both fair and simple.

The website is back up, what's more you could flag any dead links in the OP rather than quote an old complaint made by someone else.

Then that article is spitting out FUD left and right... it said most of the links were 404 errors... hmmm.
Someone should go through all of them and remove the dead once.
Allso one other multipool should be added. Im on my cellphone right now and dont remember the url but its in here a couple of pages back.

This is my noob analysis:
My advice if you want to support the coin:
Buy (or at least hold on to your coins while they mint)
I am doing whatever I can to buy some more mint!
Nice analysis - Currently there is more supply then demand
- Demand is down since price is going down for a while
- Once the price goes up, the demand will follow due to regained thrust/hype/...(this is just how it works)
- We should get demand up and/or supply down
My advice if you want to support the coin:
Buy (or at least hold on to your coins while they mint)

Wish I wouldn't have bought back into mint. It's future doesn't seem so bright the trend has been nothing but downward for the past few months. A few months back a few people were screaming I'm not selling my mint till it hits 100 sat 1 person inparticular that I can remember lol good luck with that it seems all that's going on in the exchanges is a bunch of dumping. I hate to talk negative especially because this is one of the coins of I've loved since I stumbled across it. I'd just like an explanation as to why people believe mint will have a good future because as I said right now it isn't looking so good.
How do you come to the conclusion that its future doesn't look bright? By the price on the exchanges?Look at what is being done for mintcoin instead: 50+ merchants, allot of exchanges, android wallet on the way, legally registered foundation and so on..
It has been said many times before: MintCoins is NOT for short time profit. The value will be built organically and not from pump/dump..
