Re: Can the current growth be healthy?

The current growth can be healthy as long as the market gradually removes scam/useless coins by devaluing them relative to the innovative ones.

Re: Can Bitcoin Volatility Be Controlled?

Bitcoin's volatility will never be controlled, just look at other commodities like gold and see the big swings that happen there. Even fiat currencies often have large swings in their valuation.

Silver's use is rather limited

And these limits are twofold. First, there is in fact not much use for silver in today's economy on its own, and, what adds more injury to insult, it is not going to expand in the future (if anything, palladium seems to be a better choice now). Further, even whatever industrial use silver has, it is severely limited by its price which is to say the smallest rise in price will make this use shrink since silver can be easily substituted by other metals and materials. Indeed, silver is the best electrical conductor out there, but copper is not bad either, so it is just a matter of price

Why do you think that Palladium is a good choice when compared to silver and platinum? I know that it is used in catalytic converters, but how can you say that in future the demand for Palladium will increase?

That's actually a good question. Personally, in the example you provided with palladium's use in catalytic converters, I see the demand for that use decreasing as more auto makers begin pushing electric or hydrogen-fueled vehicles out and the inevitable decline of gasoline powered internal combustion engines takes hold.

Plus even if demand goes up so do efforts to mine it, you need to look at supply aswell not only demand.

Re: i have proven the Lightning Network can't provide decentralized scaling.

I'm not going to pretend to have the slightest clue how it pans out until there are a few actually up and running.

You imagine that people will stand around doing nothing to change their behavior as LN nodes become centralized. But if decentralization is worth anything then that is precisely what will not happen.

Whisper it, but most people would choose convenience over decentralisation most days of the week. Look at Coinbase.

There is no point to decentralisation if it doesn't improve our lives in some way. If its more difficult and more expensive then I don't want decentralisation.

Re: How do you know when you are in profit? USD or Satoshi?

Both are important but at the end of the day if you are in bitcoin profit you can always wait for the price to rise even if you are not in USD profit.

I think too many people are afraid of this date, when it comes and goes and nothing bad happens to bitcoin surely the price will shoot up.

Dudes at this stage of the project the size of the exchange is secondary. For this moment for me it is important whether any mobile software is ready for him?

Can anyone answer this question?

Exactly, seems everyone forgot what this coin purpose is apart from bittrex Smiley

If no one can buy them then their value will diminish.

Re: If USD falls
by

Like many powerful currencies in the past, USD may fall to ground too, my question is will that effect BTC value? Or is it independent of all other real world or non digital currencies of the world?
We could see that already more people are switching from USD to bitcoins. If USD falls, then more people would leave USD and start buying bitcoins. It would increase the demand for bitcoins and bitcoin price would go more higher. If such situation continues, then more countries would start to accept bitcoins as medium of exchange instead of USD.

No one is "switching" from USD to bitcoins, they are buying bitcoins on the belief the value will go up but they aren't actually transacting in bitcoins. At least this is true for the vast majority of people.

Watch "Kingdom of Heaven". My all time favourite along with "Braveheart". There isn't any movies like those anymore. I like historic movies.

I miss those types but they are rarely made, I also liked troy.

I am similar to OP, I gamble for fun but of course everyone wants to win that's part of the fun. If I do win big one day though I would do the exact same thing I do with my big bitcoin/altcoin earnings, invest it for my future. If I won so big I had more than I need for my modest lifestyle I wouldn't share my wealth but rather I would start a business that I feel is beneficial to the world, for example it could be something related to solar panels so I can be a part of a business that reduces climate change.

Re: What do you think?

I don't know about the richest but a lot of wealthy people have already put a lot of money in bitcoin. Obviously they don't need it as a currency but its a very good asset and a nice addition to any investment portfolio. I think the more interesting question is if rich people will/are putting big sums into altcoins, i know there are a lot of altcoin whales but its unclear if that's new money or people who earned it big from bitcoin and previous altcoin pumps.

I saw wave is doing a massive signature campaign this month (allowing up to 1000 participants) and a lot of the price increases have started since. I think this kind of advertising is bound to bring a lot of new people to the platform and raise the price further. I predict it will hit 200k satoshi before the end of the month.

Re: Why is BitBay price so low?
by

It doesn't really offer anything innovative in my opinion, nearly all the features are things you can find elsewhere. The time of currencies that only offer currency related things are going to be a thing of the past, what it needs is a real life service that brings real value to the coin because there are already hundreds of currency type coins with equally good features.

I think new ATH but it won't pump as before, I think it will move with relatively small gains for a while so maybe 2700-3000 by the end of the month.

Can you post here altcoin pumper groups and the links to them?

Poloniex is a biggest pump group, i think the link is poloniex.com

You mean poloniex as an organisation?

I get that they are big but I don't know why people assume its not coordinated poloniex whales rather than the organisation itself which by my estimates gain over half a billion dollars per year in fees already without and pump/dumps.

Re: WARNING!!! Ethereum and Ethereum classic are SCAMS!

The bitcoin spirit is the pure job of community. Ethereum is the "Scientology" alternative for IOT. The first washing your brain, the second whashing your bitcoins. Scam alert is a real question. Stop this mega ponzi system. Stop now!  Angry

Wait, is this whole thread supposed to be a complete joke?

I assumed so already from OP's post, unless of course he has been hibernating for a long time.
