Those are my clocks.  My args: -w 256 -I 20 -g 1 and I let cgminer do the rest.

So, the 7970 sold on Amazon today. So that's cool.  NEED MORE CARDS THOUGH!  I wish those people on hardforum.com would get back to me!!!

EDIT:

Dropped core to 1140 and bumped mem to 1500, dropped vcore a little.  getting 691khash now.

Try 875/1375.  I found that yields ~608 Kh/s.  Make sure power limit is @ 20%.

If you're using CGMiner, my settings are:
Code:
-I 13 -w 256 --thread concurrency 8192 -g 2

Thanks.  That did appear to show just over 600khash, but wasn't submitting any shares.  Weird.

GPU usage is right up there at the top.  Temps are fine.  I am on latest stable drivers, but I did try 12.8 as well.  I flashed to the GHZ BIOS, but am back on original.  I am now up to 590 khash, and my clocks are 965/1575.  At these clocks I would expect much more at -I 20.  This card still isn't as fast as the 7950.  I really think there is just something about this card.

FYI to get close to or over 700 kh/s, you are going to be looking at RAM clocks in the 1700 to 1800 + territory.

Keep an eye on temps.  Sometimes a slight overvolt to the memory can help with stability.  I'm running 7970s with Arctic Accelero coolers for this very reason.

At current clocks it should be doing over 600.  I expect it to far surpass my 7950, but it cant.  Card is borked somehow.  Those Accelero coolers are nice though.

Well, that is what this card is, a Diamond 7970.  I really don't know why this is happening, but it is.  Hopefully someone will buy it soon.  I'm sure it would still be a killer gaming card.

Thanks for the link.  I was able to get it up to 575 khash, but still not anywhere near what it should be.  My 7950 is not finicky at all like this card.  Any other ideas?  I already put it up for sale a few placed, but maybe I can still get it to cooperate.

I just added a 7970 to my computer.  I have been trying different things, and I just cant get it going good.  This is a reference card.

Right now for testing, it is in the main slot, it is the only card installed, I have tried updating to GHZ bios.  That did increase stock clocks, but made no difference on the speed.  I have to manually set it to 925/1375 to get 550 again.  On my 7950 I can get 679khash overclocked, but this 7970 has to stay at 925/1375 to get 550khash and then it will not do any better than that.

I tried cgminer and reaper.  Suggestions? What other info can I provide that will help?

I have a 7950 and I just added a 7970 to my computer.  Is there a way to run 2 instances of cgminer so I can use different workers and different bin files?  I would think my 7970 would need to use a different bin file to get the most performance.  I guess I just need help figuring out how to set it up.  When I launched it right away both cards started mining, but I did notice my 7950 was mining a little slower than it did as a single card.  Is that normal?

EDIT:
The khash is only a couple lower, not a big deal.  I do need to figure out what to do though.  After I overclocked the 7970 it is still going slower than the 7950, so I am obviously not doing something right.

EDIT:
Someone helped me.  The command is --device 0 or --device 1 etc.

EDIT:
Still getting very slow speeds.  Only about 450khash no mater what I do.  I did see that trixx reports that card is running @ x8 1.1 - don't know if that matters for LTC.

I tried removing and re-installing drivers, but that didn't make a difference.

EDIT:

Following this guide: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=28402.msg1635964#msg1635964

After I delete bins and enter: setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
Then simply run: cgminer --scrypt -I 13 --device 0 -o stratum+tcp://stratum.give-me-ltc.com:3333 -u myuser -p mypassword
I get about 550khash.  Then ANY changes I try to make (such as --worksize 256 or whatever) all give me lower speeds.  Here is what the bin file name is that it generated: scrypt130302Tahitiglg2tc22400w64l4.bin
Again, this is for my 7970.

Has intensity for LTC been fixed yet in 7xxx cards?  I much prefer cgminer over reaper, but I cant use it with my 7950 right now.

I'm not sure what problem you're referring to, but for me, cgminer works at least as well as reaper for LTC mining.

With a GIGABYTE GV-R785OC-2GD clocked at 1150/1000, intensity 19, thread concurrency 27164, 1 gpu thread, I get pretty much the same hashrate with cgminer and reaper (~390kH/s).

I also played around with another configuration at intensity 13, thread concurrency 13632, and 2 gpu threads. With this, I get ~360kH/s in cgminer, and a hard crash requiring a reboot with reaper. With cgminer at this intensity, I *am* able to use the desktop for other purposes.

Interestingly, reaper in the first configuration uses ~1.7GB of system memory. cgminer in both configs uses ~40K...!

With my hardware, I don't see any reason to ever use reaper. YMMV with different hardware, of course.

Ya, I'm an idiot.  I found a guide showing how to set it up correctly, and now it is doing AWESOME. Getting 670kh/s at -I 20

EDIT:

Ok, now I am having issues when trying to tweak my 6950.  If I delete my bins and then even use the same .bat files I was using, it runs SLOW, but if I restore my old bin from the recycle bin (Win 7 64bit), and again use the same .bat, speeds are how they used to be.  Tried with 2.7.5 and with the newest version, but same results.  Anyone have any idea why this is happening?  Because of this issue, I can only use 2.7.5 with my 6950, and I would like to start using the newest version.

Ya, I had found one this morning, but nothing all day.  Not bad though, another 2 blocks in 12 hours.  Just got to wait it out...probably back to my back luck phase, but who knows!

Finally found another one a little bit ago.  My speed currently is 480 khash/s on this 6950, but at night when it is cooler I can push it to 530 khash/s.

Ya, mine looks mostly like yours.  It mostly says New block detected on network, but the occasional Rejected block.  I guess that is normal.  I didn't know about using a second pool for LP, so I will set that up and hopefully that will help.  Guess I am just having bad luck, guess that's what I get for solving 2 in the first 12 hours - made me think I should be seeing more.

Still getting several "Rejected....." and still no accepted.  Can someone suggest what I can do to fix it?  Is there a way to reset something?  I don't know why it has stopped working.

So is 12.6 supposed to be the best for litecoin?  I am on 12.8 right now and it is working well, but looking for a way to add a few hashes.

I don't know how this guy is getting 522 kh/s out of his 6950 at those clocks.  I have the same settings, and unlocked shaders as well, but I have to run at 990 core at 1375 mem to get that speed.

https://github.com/litecoin-project/litecoin/wiki/Mining-hardware-comparison#wiki-ATI_AMD_GPUs

EDIT:

Seems like 12.6 did boost my khash/s a little.  I was around 522 at the above clocks after 10 minutes, and it has been 15 minutes on 12.6 with the above clocks and I am around 530 khash/s  Grin

I solved 2 blocks in the first 12 hours of solomining LTC a couple days ago, but haven't got any thing else yet   Sad , though yesterday I was out of town and I set I=20 before I left, so it crashed and didn't mine all day, but still!

And sometimes I see it says "Rejected  ............."  What does that mean?  Does it mean it solved a block, but someone else already submitted it or what?

OK, is that how bitcoin works too?  Cause I thought the reason a BTC pool would get stuck on  a round for so long was because they couldn't solve the block they had.

Ok, I was confused since I thought I was working on the "block" shown under the IP, and that keeps changing every time a new block is detected.  So am I actually continuing to work on my original block and the name changes?  I don't understand what is really happening.

I started solo mining yesterday and solved 2 blocks, but I noticed it just keeps grabbing a new block ever few minutes, so how can it take the time to solve one?  Is that what it is supposed to do?  I thought it was supposed to work a block till it was solved.  I am using cgminer on Windows 7 64bit.

I am trying to mine at the litecoin pool, but all my shares are invalid.  I am using guiminer, what am I doing wrong? It is connecting and mining, just everything is invalid.
